And if Loki had resisted as he did, where he spent 50 years to block her first attempt, 10 years to know her identity, 20 years to see her previous fight with Gold Body, and another 40 years of lifespan to resist her second inquiry, it also proves that he has another divine being supporting him with resources.

After all, a human cultivator should have a max of 120 years’ worth of lifespan. A new divine being shouldn’t have time to gain extra lifespan yet. So a new divine being shouldn’t be able to spend 120 years resisting without keeling over in the process.

Loki felt their gazes disappear before secretly breathing a sigh of relief. Then he said to himself, ’I only have 13 years of lifespan left, but all in all, that didn’t go as badly as expected.’

He understands that the repercussions of his replacement of Gold Body could have been worse, and he had even prepared to fight to the death, which is why he didn’t complain now, even though he is so near death.

After reviewing the short meeting with the two parties, he remembered that he had received some messages during the meeting. So he took out his token to check the messages.

When he looked at the token, he saw that there were a lot of messages. He also saw that most of them were notifications for his debts.

He ignored all of the notifications about his debts and only checked the most recent message on his token. It was a message from the sect congratulating him on his advancement.

The message said, "Congratulations on your ascension. You have become a divine being of the Money Pathway today. Because of this, you have been promoted to the position of Elder of the Four Directions Sect."

"As an Elder, you have gained access to the Sect Council."

"You have also gained access to the Disciple Identity System."

"You have also gained access to the Bank Account Management System."

There were some more privileges that he had gained, but these three were the most important ones. Of the three, the Sect Council is the most important.

As he read about the Sect Council, he saw the description that said, "The Sect Council is where certain decisions, such as where the next Earthly Battlefield that falls under the control of the Four Directions Sect will be placed, will be decided."

"Every elder will be allowed to cast their vote on these decisions. Each elder will be worth the same number of divine positions that they possess."

"Each votes that are casted to create favorable benefits for the sect will be rewarded with divine merit points. With divine merit points, the Dao Status of elders can be increased."

The more he read about the benefits of the Sect Council, the more impressed he was by it. He even said, "Is this a dream? Can the Four Directions Sect really give people free benefits and power without taking anything from them?"

Then he saw the part that said, "If you cast a vote in favor of a decision that created a detrimental outcome to the Four Directions Sect, your divine merit points will be subtracted to make up for the loss. If you don’t have divine merit points, your Dao Status will be demoted to make up for the loss."

When he saw this part, his lips twitched, and he said, "There it is. The poison that was hidden by the sweet covering."

This time, he wasn’t surprised to see that the sect was going to make him accountable for every decision that he made. In fact, he felt that this was more natural, so he didn’t feel anything out of place even though there was a risk of having his Dao Status demoted for making a bad decision.

He chuckled wryly to himself as he continued to check the other privileges. When he told the Disciple Identity System could be used to determine the identity of someone from non-disciple to outer disciple or to inner disciple, he was not impressed.

He was not impressed with this privilege because he wasn’t interested in changing the identity of mortals. Then, when he saw that he would need to spend divine merit points to use this privilege, his meagre interest waned, and he decided to disregard it.

On the other hand, access to the Banking Account Management System was more interesting in that this privilege could be used to freeze someone’s account or nullify their debt. It could also be used to lend money to mortals like money cultivators and increase the interest rate on the loan.

But when he saw that he could only do this, and he would still need to spend his divine points to make use of the privilege, he lost interest in it. Instead, he went looking for how to earn divine points and how many of them he would need to advance his Dao Status.

His search led him to various missions under the Elder Mission Section. This Elder Mission Section is a secret section that is only available to elders of the sect. So it is one of the privileges that he just gained.

As his eyes roamed over the missions, he saw that they all involved fighting and most of them involved fighting on another world. Apparently, the Four Directions Sect has many battlefields all over the Sea of Worlds.

This made him say, ’What a greedy sect. I thought they were greedy enough with the way they are fleecing the people of the Blessed Heaven World, but, apparently, that isn’t enough for them. They also fleece other worlds, too.’
