Chapter 486: 120 Years Gone By.

He didn’t say anything to her, and she didn’t say anything to him. The two of them just stood there looking at each other.

As he looked at her, Loki was sure that she was contemplating whether to attack him or not. So he began to review how the previous Gold Body had nearly died at her hands.

She sensed his inquiry, but did nothing to stop him. So he saw how she had taken Gold Body off guard and struck him with the full power of her Divine Metac.

She had used the Life’s Worth Divine Metac to borrow the power of the Supreme Metac of the Money Pathway and used that power to strike Gold Body. The attack had worked as Gold Body had no way to dodge the attack.

The attack was more like a curse, so Gold Body couldn’t avoid it. The only thing Gold Body could do was resist death with his lifespan.

But Monarch Life’s Worth refused to give up and continued to seek his death with the attack. This forced her to consume more lifespan, but it would ensure Gold Body’s death.

Gold Body couldn’t avoid the fate of dying even by running away. The power of death clung to his body tightly, slowly destroying his Cave Heaven. So if he were to die, he would die permanently.

Monarch Life’s Worth asked him to surrender the Gold Body Divine Body, and she would let him keep his Cave Heaven. But if he gave up his Divine Ability, he would fall from his Divine Position and stop being a divine being.

So she was forcing him to choose between permanent death and becoming a weak mortal. As bad as being a mortal was, at least with a Cave Heaven, he would be able to reincarnate, and he might have another chance to become a divine being.

But Gold Body refused to hand over his life’s work to her. As the only person who could forge the Gold Body Divine Metac, he was sure that she would try to get rid of him after getting the Divine Metac so that he wouldn’t be able to threaten her control of the Divine Position.

Even though Monarch Life’s Worth promised to sign a contract not to try to kill him and even though she also offered for him to surrender his Cave Heaven to hers, Gold Body refused to listen to her.

Up to the point when he lost 90% of the size of his Cave Heaven, he refused to give up. He only tried to run away from her, but his attempt to escape from her was not successful.

She thought that his resistance was folly as he was definitely going to die, and there was nothing to gain by resisting to the bitter end. Monarch Lifevs Worth said this many times as she pursued him.

But as things turned out, his resistance had meaning when Gold Body ran up to his partners in the Thorn House to Commerce. At this point, his Cave Heaven had reduced in size by 99%, and he was near death, but his so-called partners didn’t step up to protect him.

Instead of protecting him, they chose to watch him die. Gold Body didn’t seem to be surprised by this. Loki believed that this was because they didn’t have any obligations to protect him.

However, even though they didn’t protect Good Body, it was certain that after his death, Monarch Life’s Worth would not be able to escape from them. As vultures, the money cultivators were content with waiting for Monarch Life’s Worth to tire herself out before striking her and taking both the Gold Body Metac and Life’s Worth Metac for themselves.

Monarch Life’s Worth realized that if she continued to try to kill Gold Body, her chances of surviving the subsequent hunt after Gold Body’s death would reduce precipitously with each year of lifespan that she spends on killing Gold Body.

With this kind of danger hanging above her head, she decided to give up on killing Gold Body for the time being. She decided to pick up from where she left off in favor of preserving her life.

Unfortunately for her, Loki came along and took what she worked for. So now, she has to decide if she is going to do the same thing she did to old Gold Body to this new Gold Body.

This decision is not an easy one to make. She for sure wants to kill Loki. But after thinking about the hidden divine being that finished Gold Body off, she became hesitant to make a move.

But she didn’t want to leave just yet. She continued to glare at Loki while contemplating various things, such as making a move against him to force out the person supporting him.

When she couldn’t make up her mind about what to do, she decided to make another attempt to discover how exactly Gold Body had died. So she used the divine constellation again to see what had happened.

Loki was presented with another choice. He could resist, or he could allow her to get whatever she wanted. He decided to resist.

His decision to resist came at a cost to some of his lifespan. He spent 40 years’ worth of lifespan, to be exact, to stop her from getting the information she wanted.

After she spent 40 years of her lifespan for nothing, Monarch Life’s Worth said to herself, ’That makes at least 120 years worth of lifespan that he has spent. No new divine being can have that much lifespan unless there is someone supporting them with resources.’

She hadn’t really made that inquiry just to see what had happened. Her main goal was to force Loki to give up and see if he had someone supporting him.

If Loki had given up and let her see what happened, she would be able to see for sure if he had a helper, and she might even be able to find out who the supporter was.
