THE GOD EATER

While the divine beings were fumbling around for a solution, the heart of the world dimmed again. This time, it went out completely. Then it began to fall into the main dimension. This signified that it had died.

This made Monarch Talisman Paper hold his forehead and say, "We are so screwed."

Then he said to the others, "A medium world is not so easy to find. How do we pay for this? Should we pay in lifespan or go looking for a replacement?"

Monarch Bull Strength answered with another question, "How many years of lifespan do you suppose will be enough to make up for this?"

Monarch Talisman Paper replied, saying, "It depends on how we frame this. If we claim that the world killed itself and our claim is accepted, we won’t have to pay much. But if we are judged to have killed the world and taken its essence for ourselves, then we will surely have to pay more."

Monarch Astra Body shears this and shook her head, saying, "What a loss. I shouldn’t have signed up for this."

Monarch Talisman Paper said, "Anyway, we can talk about this later. For now, what we should do is remove every rank 5 being from the world."

Monarch Astra Body nodded in agreement and said, "That’s a good idea. We shouldn’t delay, or we wouldn’t even have this empty shell of a world to show for our efforts."

Monarch Thousand Cut also said, "We might not be able to save this world, but we can still use it as an Earthly Battlefield."

With that said, the five of them went back to the main dimension. They appeared exactly where the dead heart of the world should have appeared.

With the heart of the world dead, the space of this world has become fragile. Powerful and heavy creatures will be forced to fade out of the world like small fish are dropped from the gaps of a net.

So in theory, they don’t need to do anything to remove every rank 5 being from this world. But some rank 5 beings might have too strong a bond and connection to this world and might not be displaced on time.

The world guardians are an example of this. These world guardians can continue to stay in this world until their presence causes too much destruction for the world to withstand.

At that point, the destruction of the world will cause the world guardians to be eventually displaced. But these divine beings don’t want to wait for that to happen.

They don’t want this world to be on the brink of collapse before all the rank 5 beings are evicted. So they want to take matters into their own hands.

While they are at it, they will also take the dead heart and divide it among themselves. A dead heart isn’t valuable to them, as its main use is to help rank 4 cultivators advance to rank 5 by fusing with fragments of it.

They can still use the dead heart to cultivate subordinates, but they can’t use it to create lifespan, so it is of little value to them. However, considering that they have made a loss on this job, they are not willing to let anything go.

As it is said, half bread is better than none. Unfortunately for them, when they reached the main dimension, they couldn’t find the world heart. What they found was a rank 5 cultivator stuffing the world heart into his Mental World.

They saw the World Heart disappear into the Mental World of one of the rank 5 cultivators of the Four Directions Sect. What they saw made them so angry that even their glares could kill.

Loki was sitting there, acting all innocent, when a large, multicolored rock the size of a mountain appeared before him. To be exact, the rock had appeared right on top of him.

The rock was in the shape of a crystal gem. The shape of the rock reminded him of the Divine Position, but this rock was dim.

The rock had cast a shadow on him, so he looked up to see it. When he saw the rock falling on him, he instinctively used the Power Identification Ability on it to know what he was dealing with.

WORLD HEART(HALF DEAD)

This sight made him open his mouth in shock and say, "No way."

This was what was on his mind when the rock landed on his head and pushed him into the ground. If not for his recently enhanced body gained from borrowing some power from the heart of the world, he would have been crushed to death.

At first, he thought that this was the revenge of the world. He thought that the world wanted to crush him to death with its heart, but he changed his mind when he sensed his seal on the world’s heart.

He sensed that his mark had finally been able to seal the heart of the world after the heart became too weak to resist it. Then the deal had influenced the heart to drop near his position when the heart became unable to stay in the core of the world anymore.

So it was his greed that nearly got him killed by being crushed by the heart of the world. After understanding this, he stopped blaming the will of the world and began stuffing his face.

He immediately tried to devour the half-dead heart. Because the heart had already been sealed by Fenrir, the black blanket was able to cover it completely, shrink it down, and swallow it into his Mental World.

He had just done this when the five divine beings appeared and glared at him. He didn’t even bother to argue or plead for forgiveness.

He simply had nothing to say since he was caught in the act, so he said, "I guess my time is up."

Even before he spoke, he had already severed the connection between his Mental World and his body. So just as he finished speaking, he had activated the Rewind Metac.
