Chapter 200: Digging His Own Grave

"What do you mean by "she left? Aren’t you supposed to bring her in to attend to the boss? And why is it a she? You know the boss doesn’t like women getting too close to him."

When he didn’t get any response from Mr Wallace and the latter showed no sign of continuing with the conversation, he got incensed for being treated as air.

"The least you could do is give me an explanation since you can’t even carry out such a simple task as escorting the doctor past the entrance. I’m sure you would have pissed her off with your foul mouth."

"I can see that age is bearing down on you heavily so you can be excused from time to time."

"You will soon meet your karma," Mr Wallace eventually said and continued to stare into space as if he wasn’t the one that just spoke.

Johnson wanted to retort but changed his mind in the end. He had an urgent matter at hand.

With that, he put a call through to Dr Sullivan who picked up instantly.

"Hello, Mr Johnson. How is old Mrs Hudson," Dr Sullivan voice came through as soon as the line connected.

"I guess she should be fine, but that’s not the reason I called," Johnson replied.

Johnson didn’t dilly dally, but went straight to the main point.

"Can you send another doctor over, the one you sent left without seeing my boss and he is still in so much pain."

"She left? What happened? Did she handle the situation so fast?" Back there in his office, Dr Sullivan had a proud look as he thought to himself, ’I knew I can always count on my Goddess.’

"She did not even enter the house let alone treat anyone," Johnson snapped impatiently.

Dr Sullivan was taken aback. "Are you saying that she did not get to treat old Mrs Hudson? How is old Mrs Hudson’s condition now?"

"I’m least bothered about that now, my boss needs instant attention."

"Your boss?"

"Mm-hmmm, why else did I ask you to come to the manor. But instead of coming you sent an incompetent doctor with a bad temper."

Dr Sullivan’s heart thumped in panic. "Wait, let me get this straight. So the person who is sick is not old Mrs Hudson but President Shawn Hudson?"

"How many times do I need to spell that out for you to understand?"

"President Shawn David Hudson is the one that needs medical attention not his grandmother for goodness sake."

"Oh, I see, I will be there immediately. Fortunately I’m done with my work here."

"You had better make it quick," he ordered, his momentum, as intimidating as Shawn’s.

As Dr Sullivan was about to hang up, a part of Johnson’s statement that he seemed to have overlooked re-echoed in his mind.

"Hold on, what did you just say about the person I sent over?"

"I said so many things so I can’t remember which one you are referring to." Johnson retorted as he wondered what the purpose of that irrelevant question was.

Despite the fury that was raging in him to strangle the useless assistant for insulting his Goddess, Dr Sullivan suppressed it and patiently repeated Johnson’s earlier statement.

"Did I hear you say she was incompetent and had a bad temper or was it my hyperactive ear at work?"

"You heard me quite right. If she is neither of those things why would she disappear without doing her job?"

Hearing Mr Johnson’s repeated foolishness, Mr Wallace, who was still hanging around felt that the evil forces from Johnson’s village had finally caught up with him.

I wonder what you will do when you find out that the person you just spoke against has the power to trample on you to the extent that not even the dust from your dead body will be visible to human eye.

"Do you know who the doctor I sent over is? Or let me rephrase it, did you see the person that came over?"

Dr Sullivan was sure that the only reason Johnson was speaking so presumptuously was probably because he did not get to see that it was Dr Janice, which was immediately confirmed by Johnson’s next words.

"Fortunately I didn’t get to see her, if not, she would have regretted stepping foot into this premises," Johnson ignorantly increased the depth of his grave.

"For all this you have said, I have no choice but to advise you to go and pay for a space at the public cemetery before your boss gets to know what you have done, because the person you just whitewashed happened to be his wife, Dr Janice."

"Boom! Boom!! Boom!!!

Several explosives went off at the same time in Johnson’s head and instantly he collapsed listlessly against the wall.

Seeing the long awaited transformation in Johnson’s countenance, Mr Wallace chuckled evilly then strolled off but not before sending him a stinker.

"Serves you right. That will teach you not to be so arrogant before me in the future. And I guess your child won’t get to see those gray hairs again because he might never get to be born."

Johnson’s face was as dark and dirty as the bottom of a pot that has not seen soap and water for over a decade.

He never imagined that this old butler would be this heartless.

Why didn’t he inform him about the identity of the person that came before letting him dig his own grave.

"Now I have to pray that the boss never gets a whiff of what I had said today." 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Meanwhile, at his office in the hospital, Dr Sullivan had barely ended his call with Johnson when the caller ID from an incoming call made him catch his breath.

"How do I explain this to her?" He was so scared to pick the call and allowed it to end by itself.

"I pray she assumes I am busy and doesn’t call back. I can’t face her anger now."
