Chapter 164: Has My Wife Contacted You Recently?

"Where is our next destination, boss?" Johnson asked when they got to the car.

"I’ve checked with the people I sent to monitor Madam’s movements and I just received news that she is headed back to Fairview Villa, the Wyatt’s residence."

"Let it be, we can’t just crash in on her." Moreover, Kathleen might not even allow him anywhere near the villa.

"Any news about the people around her?"

"None for now. The only person seen with her at the airport was the young miss from the Holmes family."

"That’s her best friend, what’s her name again?"

"Lauren Holmes," Johnson supplied. "She just returned from overseas and Madam was the one who picked her from the airport this afternoon.

From there, they drove to a kindergarten. The last report I got was that they were headed to Fairview Villa," he reported accurately.

Hearing the word, kindergarten, Shawn’s expression turned sour. ’She must have gone there to pick up that child.’

The accident doesn’t seem to have such a great impact on her considering the way she is running all over the place. It appears I’ve been worried for nothing.

Believing that his boss was still much concerned about his wife’s whereabouts, Johnson came up with a suggestion.

"Why not check with Dr Sullivan, perhaps she had consulted with him after the accident."

"I don’t think that will be necessary again but to be on the safer side, let’s just find out." Shawn was not too enthusiastic about the whole thing any longer.

"To the hospital," he ordered.

The driver who had been driving leisurely since there was no specific instruction accelerated after receiving the new command.

Dr Sullivan had just finished from a meeting where a major operation they would be undertaking in a week’s time that would last for about twelve hours was being discussed.

"Please give me a minute," he yelled out to the person knocking on the door.

Returning from the adjourning bathroom where he had gone to wash his hands, he suddenly stopped in his tract. "President Hudson?"

His voice sounded as stunned as the expression on his face when he saw the person who had appeared in his office without any prior notice.

Crossing his legs elegantly over each other, Shawn responded nonchalantly, "Good afternoon Doc."

"I hope there is no problem, Sir," Dr Sullivan asked as he took his seat.

"Do I only have to come when there is a problem?" Shawn’s tone was neither accusatory nor friendly.

"Don’t misunderstand me, Sir," Dr Sullivan hurried to explain. "There is no one in Baltimore City that doesn’t know that President Hudson is a very busy man and wouldn’t be so free to pay doctors like me a courtesy call unless there was something important."

Shawn chuckled at his joke." You are right about that, Doc," he admitted.

"The reason I came is to know if my wife has contacted you recently, to be precise within the last twenty four hours?"

’My wife,’ Dr Sullivan repeated in his mind. ’Oh! He must be referring to Dr Janice.’

"No, she hasn’t. Is anything the matter?" He squinted his eyes from behind his gold rimmed glasses.

Shawn studied the man before him for any signs of pretense, finding none, he gave a little detail. "She was involved in an accident yesterday and I was wondering if she came here for treatment."

"Accident? When? Where? How?" They all tumbled from Dr Sullivan’s mouth one after another in quick succession.

"I just said yesterday," Shawn replied impatiently. From his attitude, it was obvious he wasn’t aware of the accident which also means Kathleen did not meet him yesterday.

"Weren’t you supposed to have been together yesterday?" Dr Sullivan demanded, his tone insinuating that Shawn did not take care of her properly and in a way was the cause of the accident.

Two lines appeared in between Shawn’s brow. "How do you know we were together yesterday?" Shawn shot back coldly.

"It was everywhere on social media and is still trending even as we speak." Dr Sulivan said as if Shawn’s question was unnecessary.

When he had seen the news yesterday, he believed they had sorted out their differences and were finally back together and should be celebrating or doing something else together.

How did his goddess get into an accident all of a sudden? And what is her condition? Why didn’t she come to the hospital?

All these were bugging his mind and he didn’t take note of the sour look on Shawn’s face.

"Where is she now? And how is she faring? I need to see her urgently."

"I have no idea. That is why I came here in the first place."

"What do you mean you have no idea?"

Dr Sullivan burst out in anger, "Your "wife" as you claim, was involved in an accident while she was supposed to be with you yesterday and up till now you don’t know how she is faring? How did you take care of her?"

Shawn was taken aback by Dr Sullivan’s outburst.

Why was he that concerned about Kathleen?

Not only that but, has he forgotten that the person he was shouting at was President Hudson, one of the most powerful men in Baltimore and the number one financier of his hospital.

"Why are you so agitated all of a sudden?"

"I am not agitated, it’s just that her condition might be serious and we can’t stand here and do nothing."

He still didn’t understand which husband would be so relaxed after knowing that his wife was involved in an accident and hasn’t been sent to the hospital.

"Don’t forget she is a doctor and knows best to come to the hospital if it is something serious," Shawn uttered sarcastically. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

That succeeded in waking Dr Sullivan up.

"That’s true. He had totally forgotten the fact that the person they were talking about was no ordinary person but a renowned doctor.

Was she self medicating at home and didn’t want others to know about the accident?
