Oisi was left speechless. He had long suspected that Li Yifei and the Saintess were hiding in the shadows, witnessing and hearing his conversation with Mus. Yet, he clung to a sliver of hope, thinking that if these two had just arrived, perhaps he could bluff his way through. At the very least, as long as he could get out, he would escape immediately. However, Li Yifei’s words blocked his way out.

Oisi’s eyes darted around. His greatest concern now wasn’t being unable to defeat Li Yifei, but the fear that he might attract others. The Saintess was injured, but she wasn’t incapable of putting up a fight. Two against one, Oisi felt he was unlikely to win.

Oisi suddenly regretted not freeing Mus. Even if Li Yifei and the Saintess were present, with Mus and him together, they wouldn’t necessarily lose. "Elder Mus, I don’t understand what could drive you to try to kill me, and betray the Holy Church at that. It’s something I’ve struggled to comprehend tonight, so I came to ask you, to have you tell me yourself!" the Saintess demanded.

Mus’s face showed a bitter smile, "This matter cannot be discussed."

Just as the Saintess was about to speak, she saw Oisi suddenly speed up, rushing towards her and Mus with murderous intentions, seemingly attempting to launch a surprise attack. However, he only managed a few strides before Li Yifei kicked sideways from behind, sending him flying. Li Yifei winked at the Saintess before continuing his pursuit of Oisi.

The Saintess nodded softly, examining the bindings on Mus. These chains were specifically designed to restrain powerful individuals, covering the entire body, making it impossible for one to escape without outside help. Most importantly, the chains bore spikes that pierced into the flesh, inflicting agonizing pain whenever the bound person moved.

As the Saintess’ gaze swept over him, Mus’s face grew unnatural. He was twisted and cold-blooded, yet human. Plotting against the Saintess was indefensible.

The Saintess spent several seconds absorbing the scene before speaking, "If you won’t say, you won’t say. People are inherently sinful, even gods can’t help that!"

"Consider it my debt to you!"

The Saintess shook her head again, smiling, "Actually, even if you don’t say, we know who the mastermind behind it is!"

Mus’s expression indeed changed, but then he fell silent. This was a topic he absolutely could not answer to. The organization he defected to was equally powerful, and even within the Holy War Organization, no one knew how many had dual identities. If it were to spread, his family would be doomed.
