This was the second time that Diane had come to the Hall of Heroes after being nominated to become the next Overlord, and this was the second time she would be overlooked by the council, and the position would be given to someone else. Everyone in the room could feel the anger rolling off Diane in waves, but none of that anger showed on Diane’s face as she walked out with her head held high! As Diane passed in front of Jason, she gave him a sideways glance, and in that brief moment, Diane allowed her emotions to show as a pure, undeniable wave of anger shot out towards Jason! Diane’s eyes narrowed in fury, and her teeth were grit so tight they creaked from the strain! If looks could kill, Jason would have died ten times over! But Jason didn’t even seem bothered by Diane’s fury! Jason just gave Diane a small smile and a nod in return, and Diane’s hand tightened as she turned towards Jason angrily, but one of Diane’s warrior women put her hand on Diane’s shoulder to stop her!

Diane glanced back at the woman for a moment, and the woman discreetly motioned towards one of the corners of the room, where the head of the Nameless Keepers was standing within the shadows and watching them calmly! Diane grit her teeth angrily, and she glanced at Jason one more time before she shrugged the woman’s arm off and finally walked out of the hall! Jason knew without a doubt that this would not be the last time he would see Diane, and Jason called on one of his subordinates.

’Follow her and see if you can enter her world. If you can, then keep an eye on her and tell me if she plans anything, but if you can’t, then stay in one of the parallel worlds until I give you more orders.’

The subordinate responded enthusiastically that it understood, and it quickly flashed out from the Alternate Dimension and passed through the shadows to follow Diane and her warrior women!

On Jason’s other side, the remaining candidates who had already lost didn’t seem like they were interested in leaving the room just yet, and Jason knew that it was because of the Aqualith stone he had just presented! Even those who weren’t part of the council could see the importance of that stone, and both the lizardman and the head of the magic academy wanted to strike deals with Jason so that they could trade the stone for gold or other resources! Jason finally let out a small breath once the voting was over, and he glanced to the side to see Gina with a wide smile on her face! 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

Jason already told Gina about his plan earlier, but even though Gina already knew about it, she still felt very impressed by how well Jason handled things! Jason had not only shown that he was the best candidate, but he had put the council in such a delicate position that almost none of them had any choice but to support Jason! Gina always knew that Jason would have made a good politician! Even though Jason was a very straightforward person, there was this cunning intelligence about Jason that he had always been hiding! It was as if Jason was aware of how cunning he could be, but Jason never used that part of himself because he preferred being straightforward! Gina was sure that the only reason Jason never went into politics was because he just wasn’t interested in it! But seeing Jason completely take control of this meeting in such a dominant way showed Gina that Jason was finally tapping into that part of himself that he had kept hidden for so long! Gina’s smile widened until it threatened to almost split her mouth in two as she felt a sense of pride filling her heart! Gina couldn’t believe that her fiancé was actually about to become the Overlord of their entire Domain!

Up on the council high seats, C’thlyanu finally spoke up.

"Very well, it would appear that the members of this exalted council have come to their final conclusion on who they believe to be the best candidate for this seat. Although not all members are in support, a majority vote is all that is required, so there is no room for doubt. Now, I must say that I am not in support of using threats or coercion to gather support, but I believe that using it in this setting and in this manner only shows us the qualification of the candidate, so therefore I shall allow it. Jason Marc, you have been nominated by majority vote to take on the position of Overlord of the Sixth Domain. Do you accept this honor?"

Jason took in a calm breath and let it out before he nodded.

"I accept."

DOON!

There was a sudden tremor that travelled across the hall, and Jason watched as a large magic circle suddenly formed on the raised platform in the middle of the hall. A second circle formed on the Sixth seat of the council that would belong to the Sixth Overlord, and a third circle formed on Jason’s chest, right over his heart. C’thlyanu’s booming voice echoed through the hall.

"Then let it be known to all. May all beasts of the sea, land, and air bear witness today. May all creatures of the darkness, and all beings of light, pay their respects. Jason Marc of Earth, wielder of the Blood Oath of Gillian, and Dead Apostle of Fire. The Undying King of Legend and the highest authority of Earth. Let it be known that on this day, this man has gained the support of the council and my favour, and he has ascended above all ranks and authorities in the known Primordial Expanse to shoulder the great responsibility placed upon him as an exalted member of the Council of Nine and One, and the great Overlord of the Sixth Domain. So may he be known from this day forth as Lord Jason, Sixth Seat of the Council of Nine and One."

"Welcome, Lord Jason, Sixth Seat of the Council of Nine and One!"

The council members all echoed the greeting, and they raised their hands and created magical circles that released mana to show that they accepted Jason’s inauguration into their ranks. Jason watched as the magic circle that had formed over his chest slowly rotated, and he felt a thread of mana synchronizing with his magic signature before forming a connection between him and the high seat that belonged to the Sixth Overlord! From this moment on, that seat belonged to Jason, and as the sole owner of the seat, Jason was now recognized by the council as the highest authority within the sixth domain, and all decisions Jason took over his domain, so long as they did not go against the Primordial Treaty, would be regarded as law!

All across the Primordial Expanse, every single race that had a connection with the Council of Nine and One seemed to immediately gain a collective realisation as they felt Jason’s mana reaching out to them! All the leaders of the various worlds in Jason’s Domain realised that Jason had been given the title of Overlord of the Sixth Domain and people quickly began to prepare themselves to pay a courtesy visit to the new Overlord of their Domain!

In the world of Vanta, Jason’s stepmother, Bethsha, looked up from her desk with a surprised look on her face, and she suddenly smiled as she felt her stepson’s mana reaching out to her! Bethsha already knew that Jason would do great things, but even she couldn’t have predicted something like this!

’I suppose I have to pay a visit to Earth soon. It’ll be disrespectful not to meet with the new Overlord of my Domain. Fufu, I can’t wait to tell my sister-wives about this.’
