STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer
Chapter 815: Mission urge rises
5th Zone, City-A
Robert Hill went to the City Administration building. He wanted to meet the Governors.
After arriving at the place, he quickly went towards the Governors’ office.
When he got there, he saw the officials and made a request. He wanted to see the Governors again.
The officials couldn’t deny the request of the Tier-8 Beast Tamer, head of one of the Beast Taming Families.
They went inside and informed the Governors. All three of the Governors were there.
Martin, Leon, and Orion were discussing something else, but the officials’ words surprised them.
"I didn’t expect him to come here so soon," Martin muttered.
"Should we interrogate him?" Orion asked.
"He must have given some kind of mission to him. We need to know about the mission," Leon said.
"Let me handle this," Martin said.
Then he signaled the officials to bring the person in.
Shortly afterwards,
Robert walked into the office. His gaze fell on the Governors: Martin, Orion, and Leon. He found their gazes were different.
They were looking at him with doubtful gazes.
"Sit," Martin said.
Hearing that, Robert sat on the chair opposite them.
"Governor, do you have any update?" he asked.
He was looking towards Martin.
Martin’s eyes gleamed with a twinkle.
"Tell me first. Did you give a mission to Ronald?" Martin asked.
Orion and Leon looked towards Martin. Then they looked towards Robert.
Robert was taken aback. He didn’t expect Governor Martin to ask this question. Obviously, he couldn’t tell them he was on a mission to kill Jeremy Night.
He then shook his head. But his pause and hesitation were noticed by the Governors. They could tell that Robert Hill was hiding something from them.
Martin became more suspicious.
He said, "It appears Ronald Hill’s device signal ended in the unexplored region. He is likely to be dead."
"What?" Robert uttered in surprise.
He knew Ronald Hill might have gone missing, but he didn’t expect the place would be the unexplored region.
Robert was truly shocked. He could understand if Roland had ignored the mission and went to the wilderness instead.
There was silence.
Martin then said, "You can go now. Don’t send people to an unexplored region for no reason."
"We just survived the Beast Tide. I don’t want another incident to happen," he added in a cold tone.
Robert shuddered. Earlier, his heart was filled with hatred—hatred for the young man Jeremy Night. But he had totally forgotten the risk.
Right now, he was glad that Roland didn’t do the mission. If the young man had died, then the Red Moon Chamber would have protested.
Robert shook his head. He then stood up and decided to leave. He was afraid that he would expose himself.
"Thank you for your time. I’m leaving right now," Robert said to them.
"Robert, I know the loss of an only child is immense. The pain can’t be explained. But don’t forget your duty. It’s a long-standing fight between the corrupted beasts and us humans," Orion said.
Hearing that, Robert’s eyes flashed with a glint.
Then he nodded to him before leaving the office. He went back to the Family.
When he was gone from the place, Orion and Leon turned towards Martin.
"He must have given some mission to Ronald Hill. Otherwise, why would he have ended up dying in the unexplored area?"
"He must be uncomfortable speaking about the mission. That’s why he chose to hide it from us," Martin said.
"If not for Ronald Hill’s death, we wouldn’t have known that people are still trying to enter the unexplored area."
"They are seeking trouble. It would affect the whole city," Orion said, stating his opinion.
Leon then said, "Why would someone with Tier-6 strength go there?"
"It’s confusing," he added.
"Just forget about it. Let’s just hope he heeds our advice. If he sends someone again without our permission, then we should report him to the Human Alliance."
"You can’t always hold the Governors responsible," Leon said.
...
Red Moon Chamber
Jeremy Night had been practicing the Star Fist, the blade, and self-created starlight thread moves.
He was using different moves on the puppet to train. Instead of using the blade or Star Fist moves, he was using the starlight thread.
Because of the recent breakthrough to the peak stage, he could separate more starlight threads and control them.
Not only that, the length of the starlight thread was a few inches longer.
He didn’t forget the other two methods. It was just that he believed his self-created technique was useful. It would help in sneak attacks.
When the practice ended, he entered the bath to take a cold shower. The bath lasted for 20 minutes.
He then walked out and changed into comfortable clothes. Only then he felt satisfaction. He then sat on the sofa and pondered about the wilderness.
Though his daily training session went well, he believed that it was necessary to gain experience in the wilderness.
He didn’t know the situation in the wilderness was halted. He didn’t see any news regarding the unexplored area outside.
Governor Martin might have returned from the place. All other forces had sent their Beast Tamers to the wilderness.
Even the members here had started doing missions in the wilderness. He thought he needed to do a mission as well.
But before that, he needed to discuss it with the Head, Harold.
That evening, he left the room and went to meet Head Harold at the office. He got permission to enter.
He then opened the door and walked in. He saw Head Harold behind the desk. He sat on the chair opposite him.
"You are busy with practice. What brings you here now?" Harold asked.
"I would like to do a mission," Jeremy said.
Harold paused his work. He looked at Jeremy Night. He didn’t know whether the kid was being serious or not.
Sigh!
He let out a sigh. He then said, "The killers from the Hill Family are after your life. If you enter the wilderness, who will save you?"
Hearing that, Jeremy understood the threat. But he knew that the threat would always be there.
"I can’t stay here a long time. I have to go," Jeremy said.
"Then you have to do a team mission," Harold replied.
