SSS-Rank Extraction: I Can Absorb Prefixes from Gods
Chapter 25: Vampire Progenitor
"Who’s the—"
His voice was cut off abrubtly as a figure lunged herself at him.
A slight fragrance drifting to his nose as the he felt a delicate but painful sensation on his neck.
Before Amon could react, he was bitten.
Amon felt his vision sway slightly and it was as though all the strength in his body had been drained.
He was roughly pushed to the ground.
The lady ontop of him straddled him, her sharp fangs on his neck as his warm blood flowed unceremoniously into her neck.
Amon struggled repeatedly, but all the strength in his body was drained completely and his limbs felt as heavy as lead.
’Damn, is this how I die?’ Amon’s thoughts grew hazy.
Fortunately, the crazed woman finally separated from him and and licked her red lips, with trickles of blood at the corner.
Amon’s eyes widened slightly as he saw the most beautiful creature he had ever seen in his life.
Right before he lost conciousness, he saw an impossible sight.
The slender, flawless beauty, had a gaping would that made a gaping whole in her stomach.
However, her internal organs were regenerating at a speed visible to the naked eyes.
Feeling as though it was a dream, amon finally lost conciousness.
...
Time dragged on excrutiatingly slowly...
Amon slowly opened his eyes, his vision still hazy.
Instinctively, his hand went to his neck.
Surprisingly, the skin was smooth as though everything from before was merely an illusion.
However amon knew better. What he’d seen couldn’t have been an illusion!
"I’m glad you’re finally awake..." a feminine voice drifted over, filled with relief.
Amon snapped his gaze in the direction of the woman and the images from before flashed through his mind.
"You!" amon stood up, startled.
The woman had long red hair that was tied into a neat bun.
Her eyes were dark red, containing no hint of emotion even as she stared at him.
Behind her calm, friendly smile, he felt a slight chill in his heart instinctively. Her skin was pale and almost lifeless, however it only seemed to portray her beauty even more.
Her curves were prominent under the tight shorts she wore that hugged her curves and she was loosely dressed in Amon’s long black shirt.
It seemed to fit her even more perfectly, making her seem like a casual, laidback girlfriend.
"My name’s Isolde," her red eyes bore into amon’s as she spoke, "sorry about what happened before..."
Amon was silent for a moment, then ran a hand through his silver hair.
He tried to rationalize his thoughts, taking in everything calmly.
After a short while of silence between them, he finally said with some certainty.
"You’re not a human."
Isolde didnt deny it instead she smiled, tilting her head ever so slightly with a look of interest.
"Is it alright if I stay here for a bit?" she asked, her eyes glinting in curiousity.
"So you’d drain me?" Amon scoffed at her words.
Although she was a beauty, recalling how she’d almost drained all the blood in his body still gave him some lingering fears.
"Didn’t you feel your strength increase as well?" isolde said with a slight frown on her face, "bonding with a vampire is always a good thing, morever I possess the progenitor’s bloodline."
Isolde tried to explain, her voice extremely soothing.
Amon was taken aback.
"Vampire? Bonding? Progenitor bloodline?" he threw out a series of questions in confusion.
What the hell is going on?
Just then, a notification echoed in his mind.
[Ding! Congratulations on bonding with a Vampire, you have gained a trace of the progenitor’s bloodline!]
[Do you wish to transition to the class—vampire lord?]
Amon briefly shifted his attention to the system’s notification and pondered breifly.
Although the vampire lord class sounded good, amon didnt think it was as good as the godslayer class which came from the gods themselves so he quickly turned down the system.
"Its understandable that you wouldnt know..." isolde lowered her head and finally muttered to herself.
Naturally, she was aware that the higher ups of humanity purposefully hid majority of the information from the public.
After all, if the public truly knew what was at stake, it was uncertain if they would continue their day with a smile on their face
’Its just like father had said...
’Everyone knows they are going to die but no one believes it, if they do them they would do things differently.’
Isolde raised her gaze back to Amon and wryly smiled.
"Let me explain." Isolde chose her words carefully.
"Initially, I encountered a minor trouble, and that required me to form a bond with someone or I’d have lost my life."
She paused watching Amon’s reaction to see if he’d digested her words perfectly.
Amon’s mind went back to the vague scene of the gaping wound in her stomach that was rapidly regenerating after she had drained a sufficient amount of his blood and he vaguely understood.
Most likely, such an intense injury required her forming a bond with someone.
However it also brought another question...
He lived out here in the outskirts, the lower district of the city so....
"Why did you specifically choose me?"
Isolde wasnt too surprised by the question.
’Should I tell him the truth?’ she thought to herself.
After thinking for a bit, she untimately chose to tell him the half-truth.
"Well..." she paused slightly, "it’s mainly due to your unranked talent that’s all I can tell you for now." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"My unranked talent? What does that have to do with anything?" Amon asked, narrowing his eyes suspiciously.
Isolde smiled slightly, "what will you give me in exchange for the information?"
Amon was taken aback by her words.
"Didn’t you say we were ’bonded’ why would you want to take something from your partner?"
Isolde seeemd startled by his words.
She stared at amon with a dumbfouded look in her eyes, not expecting him to be so shameless.
"You also know nothing about the races in this world right?" isolde changed the topic, cleaerly not willing to delve much into the ’unranked’ talents she mentioned.
"Are you really not gonna say anything about my unranked talent?" Amon asked evenly.
Isolde folded her arm over her chest, and leaned in closer, then said in a smooth voice.
"What do you think?"
