SSS Awakening: I Can Steal Attributes
Chapter 108: Test
Desther had already previously tested that he could only cast Theft Mark if the target was within his field of vision.
The Sense skill, on the other hand, gives him vision to objects or living things even outside of his view.
It was essentially a 360-degree clairvoyance camera being installed inside his head.
And since the Sense skill could act as a vision, he wondered if it could actually allow him to use the Theft Mark.
With that in mind, Desther immediately went to test it.
Since it was only him and Noah around, it was obvious who would be the test subject this time around.
Closing his eyes once more, Desther used Sense and immediately detected Noah in his vision.
In his vision, he saw Noah as a big blob of light in a dark space.
Without wasting any time, Desther immediately used the Theft Mark on Noah.
A moment later, a smile surfaced on his face, realizing that he had succeeded.
He also used Attribute Theft, and it was the same result.
This would definitely change a lot of things from now on.
Desther then checked the other reward he obtained from the mission, which was the 50 Skill Fragments.
For this 50 Skill Fragment, he already knew that it could be used to fill up the lacking Skill Fragments of his choice.
As of this moment, this was his current Skill Fragments count.
[Skill Fragments: Blastoad (47.8), Demon Bunny (43.5), Ravenous Lizard (28) ]
Among the three of them, Blastoad has the highest amount, but he immediately ruled it out since there were no Blastoads in Veldora Woods.
His choice now boils down to either the Demon Bunny or the Ravenous Lizard.
Since he was not in a hurry to get a new skill as well, he decided to leave it as it is for the time being.
Once one of the two reaches 50, he would then use the Skill Fragment to make it a hundred and finally gain a random skill from the said monster.
Desther closed the interface and saw Noah approach with sluggish movements.
"Where should we go next?’
Hearing that, Desther turned in one direction and said, "Let’s head deeper into the valley.’
Noah nodded his head and did not ask any questions.
He walked behind Desther, feeling as if he could barely keep up with Desther’s speed.
’Why do I feel like my body just got heavier?’
...
With Desther on the lead, and especially with his newly unlocked skill, it did not take long for the two of them to find their next target.
Due to Desther’s new skill, their efficiency went up by a notch. Monsters that were in a hundred-meter radius around him could not escape at all.
Their points began to surge. Their newly established business could hardly keep up with their speed of hunting.
On the other hand, the rankings have shifted multiple times during the past few days, especially with their involvement.
There were minimal changes in the upper ranks, but those in the lower portion were extremely turbulent and bloody.
One moment this person was at the 119th position; the next, he would be at the 120th.
As Desther stated, their targets would be those that need points the most.
Even though there was no punishment if anyone was on last of the list, all of them knew that moving one rank upward was much better than staying on the last spot.
In their group chat, Noah observed the commotion calmly.
Some of them were asking the person in the last spot before how he managed to earn a lot of points in a short period of time.
The one that bullied him was the one interested in it the most.
After all, since that guy managed to get some points, it meant that he was now at the last spot.
He could definitely not let this happen.
On the other hand, the top rankings have minimal changes.
First on the spot was actually Lexie. Second was now Victor, and then followed by Arthur.
Ever since a day ago, Arthur’s momentum had died down completely. The amount of points he had earned each day could just not compare to Lexie and Victor.
Even Desther himself was impressed at their hunting speed.
One of them was a holder of an S-Grade talent, while the other had a lot of subordinates that could help him hunt monsters.
Noah’s score has been maintained in the top 19 as well. No one could hope to surpass him with Desther by his side.
As for Desther, he maintained a rank around the top 80 as well. It was not on the last or on the first but in the middle of the rankings, rarely checked by everyone.
"Finally hit level 7," Noah stated in delight as he killed the monster in front of him.
After a long day of hunting, he finally hit level 7. Now, he only needs three more levels, and he would be able to choose his class and transition to Tier 1. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"It’s getting late. Let us camp here for today. Tomorrow, we will make our way back to the tree house and then to the main base so that we can sell our spoils."
The Space Bag was already getting cramped as well. It now looked like a coin pouch full of coins due to its bulging appearance. The space inside the Space Bag was not infinite after all.
Noah nodded his head in agreement.
He had already grown accustomed to life in the wild. He also learned a thing or two from Desther during these past few days. Aside from strength, Noah knew that he had definitely grown stronger and more capable.
After setting camp, the two had their dinner after they cooked the meat of a monster they just killed earlier.
Desther decided to read some novels to pass up some time. After a while, though, he got bored and decided to scroll on Professional Tube instead.
It was also at that moment that he saw a pretty interesting news story spreading on the internet like wildfire.
