SSS Awakening: I Can Steal Attributes
Chapter 107: Sense
When Desther returned to Noah, he realized that he was already about to finish the remaining Moonlight Wolf too.
He nodded his head in approval as he dropped the Full Moonlight Wolf to the ground with a thud.
While Noah was still fighting, Desther decided to clean up the battlefield, or more precisely, harvest the materials of the Moonlight Wolves.
The Moonlight Wolves have multiple body parts that could be harvested and sold.
Their fur was great to be made into clothes, while their claws and bones could be made into weapons, too.
However, the most expensive material that one could get from Moonlight Wolves was actually a thumb-sized crystal inside their head.
Known as Moonlight Crystals, this was where the Moonlight Wolves stored the moonlight energy they use to fire those crescent-shaped blades.
According to the experts, Moonlight Wolves absorb moonlight energy and store it in the crystals, using them when the time comes for it. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Using the dagger they bought from the main base, Desther began to dissect the wolves and took the Moonlight Crystals on their heads.
He would not want to pass up such valuable materials.
In the market, each of them was about 50 Awakened Credits after all.
From what he knew, this was because Moonlight Crystals could be ground into powders and used for cosmetics.
The women around the world could totally go nuts for it.
Moonlight Wolves, when seen outside, would be hunted down almost immediately.
In fact, the two of them were quite lucky to have met a whole pack of them in Veldora Woods.
All in all, including the one they killed first, the two of them managed to acquire 15 Moonlight Crystals, 15 of which came from regular Moonlight Wolves, while the remaining 1 came from the leader, Full Moonlight Wolf.
The Full Moonlight Wolf’s crystal was a notch bigger compared to regular ones. Desther reckoned that it should be able to fetch him 100 Awakened Credits at the very least.
Noah took a picture of the wolves and submitted it for points. There were only that many of them, so they decided not to send it to their clients for the time being. There would be a lot of opportunities once they reach the valley anyway.
After this battle, Dether gained a measly 1.9% of experience points given by five of the wolves.
As they said, once you went past Tier 0, gaining experience points would become harder exponentially.
It was to the point that a lot of Awakened Professionals actually gave up and would forever remain at Tier 1 due to the sheer amount of effort needed just to level up in Tier 1 and above.
Fortunately, aside from experience points, each battle would still be able to make him stronger due to his Ultimate Thief talent.
From the previous battle, he gained a total of 333 Free Attributes. His total was now at 415.
Desther allocated them all equally to all of his attributes; the value for each of his attributes was now at 1083.
After they cleared everything and stored the loot inside the Space Bag, the two of them moved forward and continued their journey to the valley.
...
Flowing like the passage of time, the river of the valley moved unimpeded and unobstructed.
The canopy of trees shadowed the riverside; the flowing water reflected the blazing sun above.
In the distance, an intense battle was on the verge of coming to a conclusion.
Blood and gore painted the trees; part of the river was dyed red with blood. Dead bodies of monsters—different kinds of them—were strewn all around.
Another monster fell to the ground with a thud. It was missing a head as blood gushed out of its cleanly cut neck.
Holding a blood dagger, Desther turned toward Noah and asked, "Take a picture of this one, too. It should be the last in the area."
Panting heavily, Noah hurriedly went forward with a nod and took a picture of the monster that was missing a head.
Unlike Desther, who was still clean and spotless, Noah looked ragged and seemed quite tired.
After a long day of work, this situation was actually normal for Awakened Professionals.
Since Desther has a very high attribute value, of course, such a situation would rarely occur to him, especially in a low-level environment like this where he would rarely break a sweat from the fights and activities he went through.
Desther quite enjoyed the feeling, though.
He had long been tired of constantly being on the verge of death. When danger always follows you wherever you go just because you are weak and powerful.
The sleepless nights of constantly being worried and stressed were now gone, replaced with peace brought to him by his strength.
Desther looked around and spotted a lone Demon Bunny dozens of meters away.
His eyes lit up, and without any hesitation, he waved his hand and sent a Magic Bullet toward the unsuspecting hare.
The Magic Bullet, now at High Mastery after being enhanced by his Supreme Class, was even more effective than before. Unlike before, he could also now adjust its strength accordingly. He could make it stronger, and he could make it weaker, depending on his needs, target, and purpose.
Although it would take some time to form an adjusted Magic Bullet compared to a regular one, Desther still felt that this was an extremely good feature that he could definitely take advantage of. He also reckoned that once his mastery over it increased, the faster he would be able to cast the adjusted Magic Bullet as well.
Nevertheless, the adjusted Magic Bullet, much smaller compared to before, still managed to arrive right in front of the Demon Bunny without warning.
The Demon Bunny was not able to react in time before its head was pierced through. Its body only trembled for a moment before it fell to the ground dead.
At the same time, Desther’s attention shifted from the Demon Bunny to the screen in front of his eyes.
[ Marked Target Eliminated! ]
[ Free Attributes: +4 ]
[ Theft Mark: 10/10 ]
Of course, this was not the screen that he wanted to see the most. Instead, it was the screen that reported the completion of the mission given by the title.
[ Mission Completed! ]
[ Mission Reward: Free Attributes +100, Skill: Sense, +50 Skill Fragments ]
Among the rewards, what he looked forward to the most was obviously the skill called Sense, followed by the +50 Skill Fragments. The +100 Free Attributes might seem like a lot, but for the current Desther, he could actually earn that amount just by killing 15 Moonlight Wolves. Of course, it was still a welcome addition that he would gladly accept.
Anyway, the Skill: Sense was immediately added to his arsenal.
As the memory of the skill and how to use it flooded his mind, he also took the time to summon the panel and check the details with his own eyes.
[Sense:
Grade: B
Description: A skill used for sensing entities around the user. It could detect different kinds of concealment skills. The higher the Intelligence and Wisdom attribute of the user, the higher the chance of detecting enemies. The range depends on the Mastery and the Intelligence Attribute value.
Note: Increase the skill’s mastery or proficiency to increase capability and strength. ]
His eyes lit up once he saw the description of the skill.
From the looks of it, his guess was indeed right on the money.
Although it was only a B Grade skill, with his high Intelligence and Wisdom attribute, it should still be able to serve him well in the long run. Not to mention the fact that he could directly skip the Beginner stage and directly level up to Intermediate Mastery due to the Supreme’s effect.
Closing his eyes, Desther immediately used Sense and saw what it could provide him.
The next moment, Desther felt a faint ripple spread around the area with him as the center.
As the ripple spread, he also received feedback almost instantaneously on the information gathered by the scan.
As the ripple continued, Desther became aware of the surrounding details.
Hidden insects became clear to him. Noah, hidden behind a tree, was also ’seen’ using his Sense skill. The minute details were all fed back to his mind without fail.
For a moment, he felt like he had an entirely new set of eyes, only these eyes could pierce through hard objects and see what was behind it in clear detail.
In his ’eyes’, Noah and any other living entity, appeared like glowing orbs of light amidst a glaring darkness.
Desther continued to use Sense, trying to check where its limit lies. He does not want to test it during a battle after all.
After a full five minutes, he finally felt that the ripple stopped spreading outward.
’A hundred-meter radius with me as the center?’
He thought to himself as he estimated the ripple’s distance.
A hundred-meter radius might seem long, but considering that it could pierce through objects and allow him to see what was behind, Desther did not think that it was not good.
Aside from that, he also checked his mana reserve and thought that with its current consumption, he would actually be able to maintain it for 30 minutes straight.
For a sensory or a reconnaissance skill, this was already a good duration to have.
For others, maintaining it for over five or even two minutes might make them feel dizzy due to the amount of information the skill feeds back to the user.
Just as he was about to retract the skill, Desther suddenly thought of something.
’Can I use it along with Theft Mark?’
