Chapter 828: 828: Cousins

Before dinner, the children who were taking an afternoon nap started waking up one at a time with Yue Huashui waking up the fastest and checking on his siblings. Unexpectedly, he saw two unknown children in the nap room. But seeing the familiar features on one of them, Yue Huashui woke up Yue Zhiya.

"Zhi’er, Zhi’er! Wake up for a bit," said Yue Huashui as he gently woke up this younger brother of his.

"Shui-gege, what’s wrong?" Yue Zhiya asked while rubbing his eyes.

Yue Huashui said, "Can you check if you know these two? Since Mom let them in and joined us to sleep then they might be relatives."

"Ha~" Yue Zhiya checked the two children who had joined the house and was surprised to see that one of them who was sleeping was indeed someone he knew.

He calls, "Cousin?"

"He is your cousin, Zhi’er?" Yue Hualei asked. "No wonder, I can feel a powerful energy of lightning coming from him."

"But there is no moon energy coming from them though?" Yue Huaxue said.

Yue Zhiya said, "He is from my dad’s clan. The Regal Lei Clan."

"How about the other one?" Yue Hualei asked.

Yue Zhiya said, "He might be his future aide and guard."

"Then you should also have one, someone like this?" Yue Huashui asked.

Looking so sad, Yue Zhiya recalled the day he was captured. "He was killed that day."

"Alright. Brother asked the wrong thing," Yue Huashui said.

The children all looked interested at the two who had suddenly appeared in their nap room and surrounded them staring at them. As if feeling uncomfortable, Lei Liye and Huan Li slowly wake up under their stares.

"So noisy~. Huan Li, tell them to shut up!" Lei Liye mumbles.

Upon hearing his master’s words, Huan Li opened his eyes only to be welcomed by a few pairs of eyes looking at them. He was so shocked that he had forgotten what he was supposed to do and was even more dumbfounded when he saw Prince Zhiya among the children.

Huan Li mumbles in disbelief, " Prince... Zhiya?"

"Why are you calling my cousin’s name? My cousin had been missing. How can he be... here?"

When Lei Liye opened his eyes he was shocked to see the face of Yue Zhiya. Even though the common features of someone from Yue Clan is missing, this face is definitely his cousin brother.

"Xiao Zhi!?" Lei Liye immediately lost his sleepiness when he saw his cousin who was supposed to be missing. He grabbed him and suddenly started crying as he hugged him.

"Xiao Zhi!? It is really you! I miss you so much! Mom said you were taken away by the bad guys!" Lei Liye said as he recalled that they were actually at Someone’s house and thought that this is the house of the bad person.

"Go home with me!"

He grabbed his cousin’s wrist wanting to run away but suddenly noticed that they were surrounded by other children leaving him speechless.

Yue Zhiya said, "Brother Liye, calm down. We are safe here. Aunt Xue said she will send me home when it’s no longer dangerous. The ones who took me away were people from Death Valley after all. Moreover, it was Aunt Xue and Elf Grandpa Andromeda who had saved me from them."

"She saved you? Wait tell me everything that has happened?" Lei Liye said.

Seeing how serious his cousin’s expression was, Yue Zhiya had no other choice but to tell him what happened. How was his childhood aide killed? How was he captured? Who captured him? How he had escaped only to be saved by Yue Xuexia and why is he with this family?

Lei Liye was so shocked that he didn’t expect his cousin to suffer that much and was thankful that Aunt Xue had saved him. If not, Yue Zhiya would be recaptured again and he would suffer even more. He also knows why she didn’t allow his cousin to return with the other children. It was in fear that they would be ambushed just to look for his cousin. He has the most important identity among the captured children and is most likely the main target of the Death Valley.

"Xiao Zhi! You’ve suffered so much! Boohoo~" said Lei Liye.

Seeing him cry like this the other children around him had started panicking. Yue Huashui gently wiped his tears and the other children started introducing themselves. Only when the children had all known each other’s name did they start to get along and play together. By the time Yue Xuexia had checked on them, they were already playing together at the playground.

Yue Xuexia said, "Darlings, it’s time for an afternoon snack~."

"Mama, what is the snack for today?" The Snow Lotus flower spirit, Yue Huaxue asked.

Yue Xuexia smiled and answered her little princess’s question. "Today’s snack is Creampuffs with various flavors."

"What is a creampuff? Is it more delicious than pancakes?" Lei Liye asked.

Yue Zhiya, whose hand had been held by his cousin, nodded his head and said, "Yes, it’s soft, fluffy but a bit crunchy. It’s sweet too!"

Thinking that it is more delicious than the pancake they had before, Lei Liye and Huan Li couldn’t help but gulp while imagining the taste. Seeing this Yue Xuexia had gestured to the puppet maids to serve the children’s snack and ice fruit juice for them to share among themselves. She took care of the youngest who barely grew a tooth and can only drink milk, Yue Huajin.

For dinner, Yue Xuexia prepared some braised pork made from mutated boar which is suitable for children to eat a lot of. Children love savory and sweet things that’s why this kind of dish hits their likings the most. After eating a lot, Lei Liye thanked the Moon Goddess for saving his cousin and for the meals he got to eat today.

"Aunt Xue, thank you for saving my cousin, Zhiya. I will inform my dad and let him pick us up after the training at our ancestral site. Until then is it alright for us to stay with you?" Lei Liye said.

Yue Xuexia smiled and gently ruffled the child’s hair and said, "You are welcome anytime. But for tonight you must return next door. I heard that the senior tasked to protect you had been running around the town looking for you two."

"Oh no! We forgot to tell Senior Shan Du that we came here after leaving the house. He should be worried about us by now," Huan Li said.

Yue Xuexia said as she gestured at the two piles of lunch boxes on the table, "Take this with you. Share it with the people in your home. There is also a midnight snack in it."

Gulps~

"M-Midnight Snacks? What is it?" asked the two children.

Yue Xuexia said, "It’s a secret for you to know later. A’Shui, you sent them next door."

"Alright, Mom. Leave it to me!" Yue Huashui said.

That night after Yue Huashui sent the two children back next door, Shan Du immediately asked Lei Liye and Huan Li what happened. Ever since he had returned from the house of the Town Master, he had been watching the door waiting for the return of the little prince and his guard. He would have never expected that they had truly not gone that far and was right just next door.

Shan Du was about to scold the children and suddenly he heard a female voice in his head. It’s a message sent through divine consciousness.

{Do not scold them too much.}

Just as he was about to retort, he felt a pressure that made him kneel uncontrollably though this only lasted for a few seconds. It was enough to make Shan Du realize that the one who lives next door might be the strongest he had met in this town so far. Her aura is at least king realm or higher.

Huan Li asked, "Senior Shan Du, are you alright?" as he helps him stand up.

"I’ve slipped for a moment. My dear little prince, next time can you please inform this servant if you are going somewhere? I’ve been looking for you all day and even almost informed the elders about you being lost," Shan Du said.

Feeling a bit guilty, Lei Liye said, "O-Okay. This time it’s a mistake. This prince didn’t know that we would stay over next door. We are only going to ask for some food."

"Your highness, if it’s food we can have it ordered at the usual or ask some chef to come over at our place," said Shan Du as he felt confused why the little prince would come next door just to mooched some meals.

Huan Li said, "It’s different. Aunt Xue’s cooking is the best!"

"That’s right! Even better than the food back home!" Lei Liye declared. "If you don’t believe me, try some. Aunt Xue let us bring home some for dinner."

Huan Li took out the pile of lunchboxes from his space bag but left the dessert part only for the two of them to enjoy tonight. What’s inside the boxes were something they had eaten a lot next door. There is no problem with sharing them.

Shan Du, who couldn’t believe that there is something that delicious in this world, was astounded after eating this dinner with the other children. Not only is this braised pork extremely delicious, it was also nourishing, helping all of them to greatly increase their strength. He realized that this meal was the rare delicacy called Spirit Food.
