Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy

The room was filled with an uneasy tension. Qie Xieling was still livid but now that he knew what this woman wanted he was even more pissed. So many things were happening at the same time. He had found out the old man who saved him was actually Luo Muchen and he probably disguised himself because he wanted the box in his possession. Secondly, his man was getting hit on by a gorgeous woman who had the power to either move this along or block their progress.

It was because of this his emotions were in disarray. But just like his father taught him he took in a deep breath and tried to suppress his emotions.

When Luo Muchen sat down Qie Xieling clenched his jaw tightly like it was going to snap. Valria, with a satisfied smirk, took her place at the table opposite Luo Muchen. The table was adorned with exquisite dishes from across the galaxies, their aromas wafting through the air, tantalising their senses. Despite the luxurious display, Luo Muchen wasn’t interested. He asked her straightforwardly, "What do you want?"

Valria chuckled softly while resting her chin on her fist. She knew who this man was. He was the prince, the King father’s pride and joy. She grew up admiring him and imagining herself being his princess and walking down the aisle in front of the entirety of Zeden Coalition. Of course, she knew this was just a foolish dream and her gangster father made her fully aware of it. But the Capital Star issued her a stern warning threatening to burn her territory to ashes.

Who would have thought that the pride of Zeden would go rogue bringing her closer to a dream she had as a little girl? The issue though was that Luo Muchen was a very hard-to-get man. She did nice things for him and even offered up her entire fleet to him but he rejected her mercilessly.

She tried threatening him with his identity. If he didn’t date her then she would tell everyone who he was and his crimes but Luo Muchen didn’t care. In fact, that’s what he wanted. She did try and expose him so he would never be able to inherit the throne and marry one of the snobs in the capital star. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

Now he was back again but instead of coming to her directly, he had snuck into her territory for that dwarf. In her mind, she finally had some leverage and she was going to use that to her full advantage.

Since he had asked the question she answered, "Captain Luo, you know very well what I want... Have a meal with me and I can maybe help you with that dwarf."

Luo Muchen pressed his tongue against his cheek in annoyance but he was already contemplating grabbing her henchman’s laser gun and shooting her. He glanced back and one of the men holding Qie Xieling hostage took out his laser gun and pointed the muzzle at Qie Xieling. Luo Muchen decided to let it go after seeing that.

When he looked back at Valria she was staring at Qie Xieling. Feeling a sense of great annoyance he grabbed the knife on the table and stabbed it into the thick wood with a bang drawing Valria’s attention. Varia’s brow arched a little surprised. No matter how she tried to get underneath his skin in the past he would remain calm and indifferent. This was the first she had witnessed him losing his shit.

She glanced at Qie Xieling at the corner of her eye and suddenly had a sneaky suspicion that something was up. She beckoned her henchman over to dim the light and light the candles for her special candle-lit dinner. As he walked away her brows furrowed having realised who this person was. He was no ordinary crew member but a mass murderer who was presumed dead.

As an outstanding military man, no one expected that he would lose his mind with no rhyme or reason and launch an endless assault on the government buildings of Zeden Coalition. She also knew that the reason he was free after being caught was because of the prince dearest over here. The bloodhound on paper intended to rescue Bo Ailun the Captain’s right-hand man who had, of course, been arrested purposefully. So what was the relationship between him and Luo Muchen?

She always wondered why he would break him out of prison and risk getting caught. Now that Qie Xieling was in the same crew as him her curiosity grew unbearable. Maybe this had something to do with the dwarf.

As soon as the lights in the room dimmed and the ceiling-to-floor windows were blacked out, the luxurious room was suddenly bathed in a dim, sultry glow. The long, ornate table set with fine china, and crystal glasses now had flickering candles that cast dancing shadows on the walls.

The room instantly fell into a romantic ambiance which further infuriated Qie Xieling. He could no longer bear the sight of his boyfriend... Well, granted that wasn’t his man yet but still.

He couldn’t stand him dining with a woman who was trying to romance him. He completely disregarded the muzzle of a laser gun pressed firmly against his temple and turned to leave. If he dies then he dies. He just couldn’t stand the torture of watching the man he loves dining with another.

Luo Muchen’s gaze hardened as he watched Qie Xieling turn his heel to leave. "Code fifteen of the Blood Hound code of conduct, never desert the captain of the ship," he suddenly said unwilling to let Qie Xieling leave. For some reason, he felt a surge of panic that if he leaves he would never see him again thus he blurted out that bullshit clause.

Qie Xieling’s steps paused and he sneered as he turned to look in Luo Muchen’s eyes. He gave him a middle finger just like he had done in the past before.

Valria, "???"

Qie Xieling turned his back towards the table soon after and began to walk away. Valria watched Qie Xieling’s departure with a mixture of amusement and admiration. She raised a delicate hand, halting her henchmen who looked like he was ready to beat the shit out of Qie Xieling. "Let him go," she commanded, her voice carrying an unexpected softness. "And take great care of him."

Once he was gone she turned to Luo Muchen. "He seems very nice," she said before she started picking food out for the both of them.
