Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy
Chapter 307: "Bring that brat along!"
As the chaos unfolded around them, President Yin’s heart raced with a mix of fear and anger. Gunfire echoed throughout his once-peaceful property, shattering the tranquillity of the forest. Panic filled the air as his security team rushed to protect their leader, ready to fight against the unexpected threat.
"Bring that brat along!" President Yin’s voice boomed, his authority commanding obedience. Amidst the commotion, Qie Xieling, still lost in the realm of dreams, remained oblivious to the danger that lurked outside the bedroom. His bare torso revealed a young man caught off guard, unaware that he was about to get dragged along in a fight that had nothing to do with him.
With a resounding crash, the door was violently kicked open, splintering into pieces. A pair of strong hands yanked him out of the bed and hoisted him over a man’s shoulder as he still passed out.
Meanwhile, Bi Yu trembling with terror, huddled in a corner of the room, her wide eyes capturing the horror unfolding before her. The man carrying Qie Xieling paid her no heed, his focus solely on his mission. The urgency in his movements suggested that time was of the essence.
Qie Xieling was carried through a labyrinth of hallways. Finally, he was brought before President Yin, who stood with a mix of fury and desperation etched across his face.
He slapped him a couple of times trying to wake him but it was pointless. Qie Xieling remained unconscious, his body limp in the man’s firm grip.
"Give him something to wake him up!" President Yin’s command sliced through the chaos, and his subordinate swiftly produced smelling salts, holding them under Qie Xieling’s nose. The pungent scent invaded his senses, jolting him back to consciousness with a gasp. His eyes darted around, trying to make sense of the dire situation he found himself in.
President Yin wasted no time. "We must leave immediately!" he barked, his voice laced with urgency. Only the heavens knew what his crazy nephew would do to him when he caught him.
The order was relayed to the drivers, and the cars began to move, but their progress was halted abruptly as the screech of tires pierced the air. In front of the lead car stood a young woman, an eerie smirk adorning her face. Gripped in her hands was a rocket launcher, a weapon of destruction that threatened to tear their escape plans asunder.
Time seemed to freeze as President Yin and his entourage stared at the woman, their fate hanging in the balance. The sinister grin etched on her face sent a chill down their spines, a macabre omen of the danger that awaited them.
Fear gripped President Yin’s chest as he watched her position herself defiantly in front of the car in the front. Time seemed to slow as he registered the imminent threat.
Desperation surged within him, overpowering rational thought. "Run her over!" he yelled, his voice laced with panic. "Drive, drive, drive!" The command crackled through the radio, reaching the ears of the driver in the first car. Without hesitation, the driver stomped on the accelerator, propelling the vehicle forward with fierce determination.
Dust and smoke billowed behind the speeding car, obscuring the President’s view. His heart pounded in his ears as he waited, hoping against hope that his command would be enough to avert disaster.
Jolie, sensing the impending collision, swiftly sidestepped, narrowly evading the car’s path. As the convoy raced past her, she dropped to her knee, her rocket launcher aimed at the retreating vehicles. Time seemed to stand still as she unleashed its destructive power.
The deafening explosion shook the mountainside, sending shockwaves through the air. The force tore through one of the cars, sending it spiralling out of control, flipping and overturning with a thunderous crash.
Jolie with a purpose burning in her eyes, wasted no time. Her fingers tightened around the grip of her gun, her resolve unyielding. As the doors of the remaining cars swung open she unleashed a barrage of shots, each one finding its mark with chilling precision.
The air was filled with the crack of gunfire and the acrid smell of gunpowder. Chaos unfolded as Jolie’s bullets pierced the metal and shattered cracked car windows. In the midst of the mayhem, President Yin grew desperate.
While his men were engaged in a fierce exchange of gunfire President Yin grabbed Qie Xieling intending to use him to make this unrelenting woman stop.
Qie Xieling was disoriented and bleeding from the impact of hitting his head during the explosion when he felt someone grab the back of his neck hard.
As the chaos unfolded around him, his survival instincts kicked in. He knew he couldn’t rely on anyone else to save him; he had to take matters into his own hands. Seizing the opportunity, he mustered all his strength and, with a surge of adrenaline, delivered a powerful punch to the face of President Yin, who had grabbed him in a desperate attempt to regain control.
Qie Xieling wasted no time. He bolted out of the car, his footsteps echoing through the dense forest as he sprinted away from the scene. His head throbbed, and his vision blurred with each step, but he couldn’t afford to slow down. He knew he needed to put as much distance as possible between himself and President Yin.
Leaning against a towering tree, he pressed his trembling palm against the rough bark, desperately trying to steady himself. The ringing in his ears seemed to drown out the surrounding chaos as he massaged his temples, trying to make the pain subside. In the distance, he heard President Yin’s voice calling out for him, his tone brimming with a mix of fury and desperation.
Fear gripped his heart, and he instantly knew he had to hide. ’Jolie hurry up and save me. This bastard is going to kill me,’ He said internally while huddling behind the tree.
’I am a little busy right now. You better fucking hold on,’ she said as she pressed her back on one of the car wreckage trying to hide from the gunfire.
Qie Xieling held his breath as he pressed his back on the thick trunk. His body tensed with every passing second, hoping that his camouflage would be enough to evade the approaching danger.
