Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy
Chapter 274: Betting in the group chat...
There, gleaming under the soft glow of the overhead lights, stood a brand-new Lykan Hypersport. Its sleek, aerodynamic lines and glistening black exterior were a sight spectacular enough to make anyone drool especially a racer like Qie Xieling. His breath caught in his throat, and he couldn’t help but let out a gasp of astonishment.
Luo Muchen stood beside him, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. He watched with delight as Qie Xieling’s gaze darted across every inch of the magnificent machine before him. He had bought Qie Xieling two sports cars before for racing.
As his major sponsor, he had to make sure Qie Xieling won them money. This was the first time however that he bought him a car in his name. The look of pure joy on his face made him want to spoil him every day.
Qie Xieling’s fingers trembled with excitement as he reached out to trace the contours of the car, his fingertips gliding gently over the smooth surface.
"I bought it for you babe," Luo Muchen finally said, his voice filled with pride and affection. "I wanted to give you something that would commemorate the start of our relationship."
Qie Xieling, "..."
Oh, he now, more than ever, knew that Luo Muchen knew what happened today at the race track. His eyes met Luo Muchen’s, shimmering with unshed tears. He was overwhelmed by the gesture, unable to find the right words to express his gratitude.
Instead, he threw his arms around Luo Muchen, embracing him tightly, his racing heart a chaotic mess. The men standing around looked away again pretending to be blind.
"You are so sweet you know that," Qie Xieling whispered, his voice filled with emotion. "Is that why you were clingy in the afternoon?"
Luo Muchen held Qie Xieling’s hand and gently pulled him closer. He was leaning against the car while Qie Xieling was pressing up against him.
"Why didn’t you tell me? I thought partners are supposed to be honest with each other," he said his eyes staring right into Qie Xieling’s. His brows were furrowed slightly as his hands gently massaged Qie Xieling’s waist.
"I didn’t mean to. I came over to tell you that. Who knew you would have an unexpected guest and I would forget about it?"
Luo Muchen felt a little relief knowing that Qie Xieling actually used that as an excuse to come and see him.
"I really wasn’t supposed to come but I used that excuse to run over to your office," he said while tucking away a stray strand of Luo Muchen’s hair that was hanging loosely on his forehead.
"You should message me as well next time and tell me these things," replied Luo Muchen before embracing him in a gentle hug.
The two of them stood together, bathed in the soft glow of the garage lights, forcibly feeding anyone around them dog food.
"Let’s go for a friendly competition," suggested Luo Muchen as soft LED lights shone towards them. The very same model but in pearl white pulled up and parked right beside the black one.
"What... did you buy them on buy one get one for free?" asked Qie Xieling admiring the beauty of the two vehicles.
"No, I invested a lot so I bought them at a discounted rate," he said and the henchman, who heard the major shareholder of that company being bullied on a phone call with Luo Muchen using the old man’s illicit affairs that would send him to jail for the rest of his life, sighed.
Their boss wasn’t one to be messed with. When he wanted something he would get it by any means necessary. The only person he showed his soft side to was Qie Xieling and that was just recently.
Qie Xieling climbed into the driver’s seat of the black Lykan. The engine roared to life, filling the underground garage with its powerful sound. His eyes sparkled hearing the powerful roar of that engine.
Luo Muchen settled into his car and when he closed the car door he rolled down the window. "Where are we headed," asked Qie Xieling and Luo Muchen pointed at his car before saying,
"Check the display. If you win then you will get to pick anything you want but if I win I get to pick anything I want."
Qie Xieling laughed out loud. He was an experienced racer and Luo Muchen rarely drove on his own. The winner seemed to have already been determined.
"Okay, deal," he said and the two of them shut their windows before pulling out of the underground parking garage.
"Who do you think will win?" asked one of the men left standing there like statues.
"Obviously Mr. Qie," replied the other one with a scar on his chin.
"Obviously? You don’t know your boss very well, do you? He will definitely win,"
"Do you want to put your money were your mouth is? Because I can finally get my Fifi a new cat bed."
"Oh, it’s on. Fifi ain’t getting shit from this deal."
This dialogue spilled over to the group chat and the betting wars began.
Completely unaware that they had caused a ruckus in a certain special group chat, Qie Xieling’s midnight black beauty stood in stark contrast to Luo Muchen’s radiant white speedster as they revved their engines in the empty street.
They exchanged a determined glance, their eyes filled with competitiveness and excitement for a thrilling race.
It didn’t take them long before they were out of the city and as they accelerated onto the curvy roads that wound through the moonlit countryside, adrenaline coursed through their veins. The vibrations of the engines when they shifted gears, heightened their senses and fueling their competitive spirits. Each twist and turn of the road pushed their driving skills to the limit, as they weaved through the darkness with precision and finesse.
Qie Xieling’s black car hugged the corners effortlessly, its powerful engine propelling him forward with a surge of energy. The car’s sleek design and aerodynamic curves allowed him to slice through the wind like a shadow, pushing him closer to victory.
