Still reading... but so far this is a light-ish romance, a slow burn that deals with deep issues (depression.) Even without all the passion and drama, I truly enjoyed this read largely in part due to the thorough explanations and cultural background provided by the translator at the end of the chapters.
Centering the story around tea and meals (cooking/food) also added to my enjoyment of the read.

Amazing novel, although the writing could be better the story itself is masterfully crafted and thought out, it could truly last a long time even from now however I do wish there was more relaxation time soon. Yk a few chapters of everyone coming back together and enjoying each others company

The overall writing & prose is peak, and the storyline flows. The characters and plot are consistent and fleshed out really well. By the end any question of the characters' motivations and background was answered without feeling abrupt.

That said, this story made me feel every emotion. There is love and passion, hatred and pity, disgust and horror, tragedy and despair, but it ends happily overall.
It's like king maker x omegaverse x beast-people, and more. And the passionate smut scattered throughout doesn't overshadow the plot at all.

Trigger warnings!
The story contains some not too explicit scenes of abuse, murder, and the worst for me were the mentions (twice) of

rape, which horrifies me.

Spoilers (kind of):
I felt heart-broken every time a mother was abused, someone felt abandoned, or

a love was subject to terrible things before death.

Thankfully, the story ends on a hopeful note. I do wish there were more though.
All in all I'd say this is close to a Masterpiece in writing, especially considering it was not (I believe) edited or proofread.

Novels are not my cup of tea, but wait the next chapter of the webtoon adaptation is poison
This book made me sign up just so I could leave my thoughts. Pick it up, find a comfy place to settle down and enjoy the journey. Only one poor comment - update already.... I have already read it twice from start to finish just to keep the feeling alive.
I don't know why this story has a gender bender tag, I might suggest a horror tag though.

The story and characters are well developed, and I enjoyed the writing. The romance between Xion and Darius starts off kind of a slow burn, but their relationship is consistent once settled. The storytelling caused me to feel anxious, horrified, in love, surprise and silly at times. I didn't love how it ended a bit abruptly, but I'll be re-reading this one.
I have no complaints about the writing and writing style, and the and pacing is steady. The characters were consistent, and the storyline flows and makes sense.
I also really liked how the idea of fated mates here is slightly different than the usual (at least the others I have read.)
Chapter 1: "Instance Name: Blo*** Restaurant"
"Instance Type: Novice Trial"
"Instance Player Count: Solo"
"Objective: Survive 72 hours"

72 HOURS. And yet, well over 80 chapters and 3 in story days later the MC still hasn't cleared the novice he** difficulty instance mission and still seems to be planning for an unknown extended days to survive like the author completely forgot that this arc was supposed to be a timed survival mission instead of an investigation quest line story arc as the author pours more and more world building into the Blo*** Restaurant world. Like the extended world building of a reincarnation story meets a half-baked mentality of a quick transmigrator's belief in the strength of their system. And of course the system basically never pops up again except tangentially as status prompts or iffy item descriptions. And judging by the chapter names, the MC still hasn't left the Blo*** Restaurant Arc even after over a 1000 chapters

The cover/title are a lie/misleading since the MC becomes a delivery guy instead of a butcher like the cover smock implies and basically lost his human form day 1, got turned into a regen tentacle arms monster

TL;DR: It's like the frustration of starting a fantasy anime with the summary being watch the journey of the greatest Archmage and the first episode being the MC stating that Magic School is starting soon and that the MC should hurry to make the journey in time for the "short deadline". Then season 1 ends with the MC still on the road after x amount of side quests and only occasionally still thinking about how far the MC still has to go to get to the school while completely ignoring the deadline setting from episode 1
