The clerk was surprised when Adam Jones and Mrs. Jones entered, but quickly came forward to greet them.

"A diamond ring,"

Adam Jones replied.

The clerk gave a knowing look at Elly Campbell and said:

With that, she took out a whole box of diamond rings from under the counter and placed it in front of Elly Campbell.

The designs of these rings were indeed beautiful and suited Elly Campbell’s taste. However, they didn’t quite fit someone younger than her, so she turned to Adam Jones and asked:

"How old is Nathan Stewart’s girlfriend?"

"Same age as you,"

Adam Jones replied without batting an eye, "Just pick one according to your taste."

Elly Campbell nodded, a bit surprised that Nathan Stewart’s girlfriend was the same age as her.

She remembered Nathan Stewart should be around Leo Hall’s age and looked like a shy type not interested in older women.

In the end, she picked her favorite ring from the box and told the clerk:

The clerk had gathered from their conversation that the ring was for someone else and noticed Elly Campbell wasn’t wearing any rings, which puzzled her.

Everyone knew how much Adam Jones adored his wife like a treasure, so it was surprising he wasn’t buying her a diamond ring.

But on second thought, maybe Mrs. Jones didn’t like wearing one and kept it at home, so she didn’t dwell on it.

When paying, he even tipped the clerk generously.

As they walked out of the jewelry store, Elly Campbell looked at Adam Jones but said nothing.

Adam Jones noticed and asked, "What’s up?"

"Nothing, just thinking how the island lord has become considerate, buying a diamond ring for someone else on behalf of his cousin."

Adam Jones ignored the teasing and said:

"Jealous? If you wanted one earlier, I could have bought it for you too."

"Do you have money?"

"Can I advance next month’s allowance from you?"

"Dream on, your allowance isn’t enough for one diamond ring."

"Then I’ll advance a few more months."

Half a month had passed since Helen Melendy’s wedding, and the year-end was coming fast.

The Old Lady had taken Jack Campbell on a trip for almost two months, currently in New Zealand.
