Relentless Pursuit After Divorce
Chapter 1783: Changed Tastes Again
"Hmm."
Adam Jones nodded in response, then circled around her and walked into Elly Campbell’s office.
Elly Campbell, seeing her own "clingy little charmer," chuckled softly and said:
"What brings you here?"
"Looking for my wife."
He walked up to Elly Campbell, leaned one of his long arms on her desk, and said:
"May I have the honor of having lunch with CEO Campbell?"
Elly Campbell glanced up at him and said:
"No honor granted."
"I’m already here."
Adam Jones sat down in front of her, propping his chin with his hand as he looked at her, much like an innocent mountain white lotus.
"Honey, you don’t love me anymore."
"..."
Elly Campbell didn’t even look at him and simply said in a mild tone:
"Don’t be dramatic."
The tone of disdain made Adam’s face look even more aggrieved.
A moment later, he handed her the small envelope he had in his hand.
Elly Campbell looked up at him, took it, and asked, "What’s this?"
As she spoke, she opened the envelope and a piece of paper slipped out — it was a wedding dress design sketch.
It wasn’t colored yet, but just looking at the lines and design was eye-catching. Even though she wasn’t particularly keen on having a wedding, such a wedding dress was captivating to her.
"Is it beautiful?"
Adam Jones leaned toward her with a face that seemed to be begging for praise.
"It’s beautiful."
Elly Campbell sincerely praised, her eyes sparkling, gazing at the wedding dress in it with reluctance to part from it.
"Then, may I have the honor of having lunch with me now?"
Looking at his flattering yet obedient expression, Elly Campbell couldn’t help but laugh.
Carefully tucking the design back into the envelope, she looked at him and said:
"In honor of such a beautiful wedding dress, I’ll grant you the honor."
She stood up, walked to Adam Jones’ side, proactively linking her arm with his, and said:
"So, Mr. Jones, what would you like to eat?"
"What I want to eat isn’t appropriate for this time of day."
Adam Jones gave Elly Campbell a meaningful look, his eyes deepening, and was promptly pinched hard at the waist by her, making him yelp in pain.
In the end, he was pulled out of the office by Elly Campbell, still looking aggrieved.
Adam Jones took her to a restaurant that was quite a distance from Campbell’s.
"Why go so far for lunch? I have a lot of work to do."
"It’s not easy for my wife to grant me the honor of accompanying me for a meal, so naturally, we have to eat something good."
Elly Campbell didn’t object and ordered a few dishes with heavy flavors, then handed the menu to Adam Jones.
Adam Jones wasn’t particularly picky; seeing that Elly Campbell had finished ordering, he casually picked a few items and passed the menu to the waiter.
Thinking of the dishes Elly Campbell ordered earlier, Adam Jones furrowed his brow and said:
"Haven’t you stopped eating spicy food for a long time? All those dishes were spicy; can your stomach handle it?"
"I suppose so. Just seeing those pictures made me think they look delicious."
Saying this, she even subconsciously swallowed a bit.
Adam Jones didn’t oppose her eating spicy food, but ever since he heard she’d quit spicy food the year before last, he hadn’t ordered anything spicy when dining with her.
Suddenly eating spicy food, he worried her stomach wouldn’t handle it well.
"If you can’t get used to the spice later, don’t eat it, we’ll switch to something else."
"Stop it. If you say more, I’m going to drool."
Elly Campbell also found it strange. Ever since getting pregnant with William Campbell, she hadn’t touched anything spicy. Although she used to love spicy food, after quitting, spicy things didn’t stir any particular feelings in her.
