Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World
Chapter 810: Fighting For Its Own Sake
Two minutes earlier.
*BAM!*
Azeus, covered in orange lightning, had the council member of the Jaguars in a headlock as he made a dive for the ground.
"Noo, stop!" The elderly looking Jaguar man shouted, panicking as his face quickly approached the ground in the most humiliating way.
But Azeus did not relent, he buried himself and the Jaguar man into the ground.
It was almost immediately that a few other streaks of light pursued Azeus.
Among them was the Luthor Patriarch and multiple Supreme Immortals, all of them having wrathful and frustrated expressions on their faces.
At the same time, Azeus had not come alone. The thousands of lions and vassals that had come with him had also engaged in their own fights.
Thousands of felines battled the lions and their vassals.
The vassals that the lions had come with were mostly of three races. The lizards, the scorpions, and the deers.
Those three made up the majority of the forces that followed Azeus. The lions had more, but these were the ones that responded quickly.
The scorpions were affiliated with the law of Medicine, the Lizards were affiliated with the Law of Adaptability, and the deer were affiliated with the Law of Life.
All three were very crucial races and very useful vassals.
The deer especially did not agree with the lions but they knew that they would be the first to get punished and eaten if they disobeyed the lions.
Deer meat was very delicious apparently.
As the vassals and lions fought with the various felines that had come to fight, something was made very clear.
The lions were not taking the fight as seriously as they should.
It was as if they only came to kill and destroy as much as they could before they went back.
One could tell this in the way they were fighting. They were frighteningly playful and very calm even when faced with multiple opponents at the same time.
The lions were outnumbered in this fight for sure, ten to one on average, but they were surprisingly not fighting as if they were at a disadvantage.
In fact, their morale was very high and they fought with the vigor of a warrior who was having the most fulfilling fight of their lives.
Occasionally, there would be a cry or a chant for ’Freedom’ or ’Escape’.
This confused the felines who had to be very cautious because even when outnumbered, the lions had to be taken seriously.
They were acting as if they were not afraid to die, but at the same time, they were fighting a battle of attrition.
They could charge and roar at their enemies but quickly change to hit-and-run tactics the moment they felt overwhelmed.
And they fought in groups, the lions, all of them. None tried to fight alone, so they automatically had each other’s backs.
Three lions or five lionesses working together were the same as ten felines doing the same thing.
Near-perfect synchronisation in group battle was already beaten into their bones and genes with the help of their natural instincts and the Pride Sync.
Azeus was the most impressive figure on the battlefield, he pushed himself to limits never seen before.
He alone faced off against up to fifteen supreme immortals. He was clearly at a disadvantage and was on the receiving end most of the time but he took it all with the most manly smile that would grow a beard on any toddler.
He alone took the aggression of the supreme immortals. He was ruthless and merciless in his attacks, aiming to incapacitate with every strike he threw.
Not once did he transform into his true lion form.
There was no need.
With a boisterous laugh, Azeus burst out of the ground and shot into the sky.
The heavy sounds of flesh and bones banging against each other acted as the war drums in this chaotic place.
All the castles that had once been inhabited by the cats were now gone. Crumbled.
And Azeus was clearly not satisfied.
He was fast, dashing away and slamming into one supreme after the other, sometimes grabbing one and flinging them to the nearest structure.
Azeus was sensible. He knew that this was not a life and death battle, he also knew that just because they did not take the fight seriously did not mean that the enemies did not.
Fifteen supreme immortals! Only him?
He was not unscathed as he too had his own fair share of broken bones and swollen bruises.
The only reason he was still alive was that he was just that good.
He was not trying to win the battle, all he had to do was dish out as much damage as he could while waiting for the final second.
And that final second was approaching very fast.
As the last ten seconds reached, the lions started roaring with excitement. Their roars were so terrifying that they shook the earth and the souls of all those who heard them.
The Dominion Roar.
The felines literally felt their power ebbing away and their forms getting slower.
Before they could even process what had happened and why it happened, they were gone.
All of them.
All the immortal lions, all the vassals that had joined them, all of them were gone.
Vanished like they had never been there before.
The only thing that could be used as evidence of their past presence was the dead bodies and shattered ruins around the felines.
Dead bodies from both sides stayed behind but all that was living disappeared like ghosts.
"What the..." One of the Cheetah Supreme Immortals stammered with a swollen face filled with bruises and a chest filled with broken ribs.
For some reason, Azeus had paid special attention to him to the extent that he regretted coming to aid the Luthor Patriarch.
"Where did they go?" Zayna asked, her clothes were ripped in different areas and her beauty was tainted by the swollen left eye.
"Hmmm," The Luthor Patriarch was the one with the least amount of physical injuries but he appeared to be the most vexed.
"Quick, let’s go and check if the lions are still in their territories," The Luthor Patriarch said.
"Really?" The Cheetah Supreme Immortal frowned, his swollen face becoming uglier.
"Don’t worry we’ll watch from the borders. We need to confirm and make sure our greatest fear has not come to pass.
I’m afraid something has gone terribly wrong and we can only pray if what I am thinking is actually the case..."
