Reborn as a Mind-Reading Empress
Chapter 611: Asking His Master
Alwin eyed Dimo like he wanted to dissect him and learn about everything he was hiding in that little body of his.
The way he gazed at Dimo, it was as if he was no longer human but a test subject in his lab. His inner obsessed magician who only stayed in his lab was showing.
No wonder Ferdinand and his other elders worried about him and sent him out on missions and errands to make him go out.
And yet, Alwin thought of those as tests that they were giving him so he took things over the top in thoughts of proving that that he was very much capable now.
He had no idea or already had, that they already thought he was talented and determined, but he still thought that he had not proven himself enough yet.
Alwin was truly too hard on himself even when everyone already believed in him.
The Overseer, Celestial Dragon Elrond who could be said as the King of Estrella, and the King of Elves who was Alwin’s uncle both wanted to take in Alwin as their disciple because they thought he was more than worth it, but Alwin still did not understand his value.
He had an idea but he did not truly get it.
And he did not even need to worry about his value since he was already priceless to his elders even if he did not try so hard to prove himself.
Yet Alwin spent so much time in his lab trying to create new things and achieve so much more than he already did just to prove himself.
Now, it become a habit. His supposed fun experiments had become more of an obsession instead of simply enjoying himself and what he wanted to do.
The way his eyes glinted as he looked at Dimo like a test subject was horrifying even with that exquisite and divine elven face of his.
{Hey, stop looking at him like he was some kind of new experimental subject for you. Dimo is a living person.}
Arabella reminded Alwin before he ends up forgetting that he was not in his lab.
Dimo might get terrified of him too if he saw that glint in his eyes.
Moreover, Arabella had read from books that sometimes, magicians’ tendency to experiment on everything that interested them was what led to their deaths or the deaths of the people involved in it.
It was quite a scary thing when allowed to go out of hand.
{Tsk. I know. I’m not like someone who toyed with an Empire.}
Alwin gave her an eye-roll and reminded her that she had done something much worse.
’I did not play around with it. I schemed with others to ruin it,’ Arabella thought but did not say it.
Instead, she simply ignored Alwin’s last statement.
She was already used to him saying that anyway. And it wasn’t like she was planning to scheme with other people Valeria again. She was doing the exact opposite now which was why she was working with him.
Moreover, it wasn’t like she organized everything in the past for no reason. She was misled and used. Though of course, she was still at fault for being too gullible and falling for everything they said.
She did not want to dwell on the past anymore though and wanted to do everything she could for the future so the tragedy of the past would happen again.
Thus, she simply focused on their topic right now.
{Is that so?
Then give him some credit.
Because yes, he could tell it was a teleportation spell.
He said he could sense mana more clearly now so he could tell what spell was activated.} Arabella said with pride.
Dimo was not her child but she still felt so proud of him. She wanted to see him soar even higher in the future and live the life he never had in their past life.
After all, Dimo deserved praise and accolades instead of threats on his life from the Dark Guild who manipulated him for a long while.
One day, for sure, capable Dimo would be praised in all of Eliora instead of becoming a Most Wanted person with a hefty price on his head for becoming a criminal at the age of thirteen.
{You told me that learning teleportation could be dangerous. But in the past life, Dimo learned it when he was young as he was trying to escape for his life.} Arabella informed Alwin.
She knew this could be dangerous since Dimo might end up learning about teleportation on his own again which was why she was informing Alwin.
After Alwin gave her a long explanation last time about why he did not want to teach her teleportation or any sort of magic, Arabella understood.
If Dimo kept thinking about teleportation and places he wanted to go to, he might accidentally teleport without knowing how to return.
Moreover, the current circumstances of the place he wanted to see might not be good.
What if he happened to teleport while a crime was going on and he gets dragged in? Or in the worst case, what if he ended up teleporting where Sonia was? They might kill him on the spot.
That would be a nightmare. Arabella could not allow that to happen.
Thus, it was better to teach Dimo properly so that even if he accidentally teleported, he would know how to return home as soon as he sensed danger.
If he was in a foreign place and did not know what to do, how would they even find him before someone else notices him?
It was too dangerous right now especially after the magicians from Fynnia might be roaming around in Eliora.
{I think it might be better to begin teaching him teleportation now than have him accidentally learn about it all on his own.}
Arabella reminded Alwin of his warnings to her. Dimo already had a history of being able to teleport without having an education on how to use the spell for it. Thus, in his case, it was better to teach him.
{It might be too early for his body. But I’ll think about it. If he can do some advanced spells, then we might begin giving him the basic lessons for teleportation.}
Alwin sighed deeply and his eyes glowed with magic as he checked Dimo’s mana levels.
Dimo who was about to eat a forkful of cake stopped and glanced at Alwin.
Alwin instantly stopped and the glow in his eyes vanished in less than a second.
[Master was checking me earlier. Or was it my imagination?] Dimo blinked repeatedly and stared at Alwin.
{Oh my goodness! Alwin, he sensed even that. He knew you were checking him.} Arabella said and Alwin flinched.
{Tsk. What an observant kid. It seems he can learn things much more quickly than we thought. We might advance his lessons from now on.}
Alwin finally gave Dimo the credit he was due, albeit, acting like he was forced to do so. But in fact, he was impressed by it.
"Master, is something wrong with me?" Dimo inquired with curiosity.
Much to Arabella’s delight, Dimo had grown so much more talkative and energetic than he was before when he was just brought here.
In the earlier days, he would only speak with Arabella. But now, he could speak with his teachers without fear since he now trusted that he was safe with them.
He would never have dared to speak first before. But now, he knew he could talk as much as he wanted and express himself much more freely as long as he was not rude or disrespectful to anyone.
"No. I was just checking to see if your mana is stable now," Alwin reasoned.
"Is it?" Dimo believed it without a doubt but was asking because he suddenly had an idea.
[Maybe, I can ask Master to teach me now.]
’Teach him what?’ Arabella wanted to warn that he had to be careful in his response, but Alwin responded before she could.
"Yes, you can control your fire magic very well now. You did well in your studies," Alwin said with a gentle smile as he praised his disciple.
[Master thinks so?!!!]
Dimo perked up. He was visibly delighted at receiving such praise from his master.
Arabella, Alwin, and Rendell couldn’t help but smile at how delighted the child was.
"Then! Master... Can I learn about teleportation magic now?! You were so awesome earlier," Dimo asked with huge sparkling eyes as he looked up to Alwin.
Alwin blinked repeatedly and glanced at Arabella for help as he thought of a way to deal with this cuteness and flattery attack from his little disciple.
’Ah, so this was it,’ Arabella stopped herself from chuckling. They all fell for the trap.
Dimo unknowingly set up a trap for them with his cuteness attack. All he was concerned about though was learning something he thought was awesome.
He simply thought that if his Master already thought he had improved a lot, then maybe he could ask him about it now.
