"What’s it doing?" Jiang Xue glanced at the kneeling Water Monster, then turned to look at Mu Qiancheng and asked.

"Probably doesn’t want to leave here, right?" Mu Qiancheng answered casually, unexpectedly the Water Monster nodded, as if it understood his words.

"No way, it really doesn’t want to leave. And it can understand what we’re saying, could this Water Monster have become a spirit?" Jiang Xue was a bit surprised, looking at the Water Monster. If the Water Monster really became a spirit, would it turn into a human form like in the TV shows and then come out to harm people?

Jiang Xue kept on filling in the blanks with her imagination, but she had no idea that the Water Monster was just very old and had gained some intelligence; as for becoming a spirit, it was still a long way off.

"You’re overthinking it!" As Jiang Xue was incessantly overanalyzing, Mu Qiancheng’s words calmly reached her ears, like a cold bucket of water, extinguishing all her thoughts.

Coming back to her senses, Jiang Xue looked at Mu Qiancheng’s conflicted face and asked, "Shall we do it?"

Mu Qiancheng hesitated for only a moment before making up his mind, saying, "Since we’ve agreed to it, we must go through with it. Let’s take it out of here. Though, its life should be spared, for the relevant departments are very interested in it."

"Relevant departments, you mean..." Jiang Xue didn’t continue, but she thought of the previous biologist who got dragged into the Lake.

If the Water Monster is taken out, it will surely attract the attention of those people.

"Since it’s decided, let’s do it." Jiang Xue was not someone who dallied; once she decided, she wouldn’t go back on it.

Mu Qiancheng nodded and no longer paid attention to the Water Monster kneeling before them, raising the anesthetic gun.

The Water Monster, seeing that even after pleading, Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng still wouldn’t let it go, felt disappointment and a surge of resentment in its heart.

It thought, since they wanted to kill it, why should it hold back; even if it fought a desperate battle, it would drag them down with it.

With that in mind, the Water Monster slowly stood up, then suddenly charged at them. Now, without water in this cave, it couldn’t unleash its full power. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have pleaded.

Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng hadn’t expected the Water Monster to suddenly attack them. Luckily, both of them reacted quickly, so when the Water Monster was about to ram into them, they leapt and stepped onto the cave wall, dodging its full-force blow.

As they stepped onto the cave wall, they suddenly felt something unusual. Before they had time to perceive it clearly, the Water Monster roared again.

However, Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng were unaware of what was in the Water Monster’s mind. Seeing it charge at them again, they could only step down from the cave wall and leap to the Water Monster’s back.

"Gun!" After landing, Jiang Xue saw the rare opportunity and reminded Mu Qiancheng.

Mu Qiancheng reacted quickly; as soon as Jiang Xue mentioned the gun, he aimed at the Water Monster’s back and fired a tranquilizer dart.

The tranquilizer dart pierced the Water Monster’s body, but it didn’t react immediately. The Water Monster seemed unaware that something had been injected and turned to crash into them once more. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

The couple watched and gently stepped aside, causing the Water Monster’s head to slam directly into the cave wall behind them.

With a loud bang, the Water Monster had an intimate encounter with the cave wall.
