Charlotte didn’t stand on ceremony with Thomas and walked over to open the lunch boxes placed on the cabinet. As soon as she opened them, a tempting aroma wafted into her nose. She closed her eyes and leaned in to take a sniff. "Smells so good."

After savoring enough of the aroma, she felt it was time to let her stomach enjoy it too.

"Thomas! You haven’t eaten either, right? Come have some with your sister." Unlike Benjamin, who devoured the meal Thomas brought all by himself, Charlotte picked up a bowl to wash. She intended to use it to share the meal with Thomas.

Thomas understood what Charlotte meant, but he declined, "Charlotte! Please, have it yourself. I ate breakfast a bit late, and I’m really not hungry right now."

He wasn’t just being polite; he really wasn’t hungry and meant what he said.

"No need to be so courteous with me. See, I’m not being polite with you." Charlotte figured Thomas was just being polite. Holding the clean bowl, she walked over and was about to scoop some rice into it. Her stomach and mouth had already been tortured enough, and it was not a pleasant feeling.

Thomas reached out to stop Charlotte, taking the bowl from her hand and placing it back on the cabinet, "Charlotte! I’m genuinely not being polite; I’m just not hungry."

As he spoke, he pushed the lunch box in front of her, meaning she should just eat it herself.

"Benjamin! Do you have enough food? How about letting Charlotte give you some?" Not wanting to go back and forth with Charlotte over a meal, Thomas sat on the bed and looked sideways at Benjamin, who was eating. He seized this chance to break the slightly awkward atmosphere with Benjamin.

Benjamin had been subtly observing the situation all along. When Thomas sat down, he pretended to focus on eating but looked up when Thomas spoke to him, "Do you think I’m a pig?"

He deliberately raised his voice and exaggerated his expression. Like Thomas, he was just trying to break the awkward atmosphere.

"Even if it’s a pig, it’s a handsome pig." Having been buddies for years, Thomas immediately understood Benjamin’s intention and played along.

Benjamin pointed a finger holding a spoon at Thomas, curling the corner of his mouth, "You brat! You really think I’m a pig?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

He shot an unsatisfied glare but had no trace of discontent or anger on his face.

"How could I? I’m your good brother. If you’re a pig, then wouldn’t I be..."

"A pig! You’re a pig too!"

As Thomas was about to finish, Charlotte couldn’t help but cut him off. Seeing the two good brothers not getting into a spat over Alice, her heart felt relieved.

Ever since learning last night about Thomas and Alice being in love, Charlotte started worrying that tensions might rise between Benjamin and Thomas because of Alice.

Seeing their interaction today was much like how it used to be, making her worries gradually dissipate.

Charlotte’s abrupt interjection livens up the atmosphere. Thomas’s face broke into a relaxed smile, "Charlotte! You’re with us now. If we’re that, then what are you?"

His message was clear, and she couldn’t miss it.

"You brat! You’re so naughty!" Charlotte raised her hand to smack Thomas lightly, controlling her strength as she did so.
