Pursuit Of Immortality: Conquering Ten Thousand Goddesses
Chapter 35: A Daring Woman
Wei Shi Lan was in good spirits. It was not possible, in fact, if the cultivation world was supposed to hear that someone out there had climbed the entire levels of the Mortal Realm in just one week and a few days, a chaotic fire would rise.
All the esteemed sects of the higher realms would offer him countless privileges, and resources for him to join them. Some family might even go as far as offering their wife.
Because it was simply impossible to climb the nine levels of the Mortal Realm in one week. Especially because the Mortal Realm was about making the body very sensitive to Qi and the human body was inherently dull to Qi.
So this process was like passing an indestructible metal through a fiery furnace, it would take time and gruesome effort to achieve. Many often gave up before they formed their dantian. Even the talented ones like Hei Jun had been cultivating as soon as they learnt to walk and had just managed to form their dantian.
Wei Shi Lan smiled proudly at his achievements.
’In the past, I never thought this was possible. But it’s all thanks to the Primordial Dark Sea...’
He nodded and then raised his head to the door.
"For this, out of the goodness of my heart, I should give Sui Rong my thanks."
He looked at the door and called out.
"Sui Rong, you can come on in."
He was met with a deafening silence even after calling out to the young lady.
He sighed and stood up, going to the door.
He pulled open the door, and at his feet, Sui Rong fell back with a startled jerk, her back almost touching the ground, but Wei Shi Lan supported her with his leg.
She was a bit disheveled and slow, raising her head and standing up at an annoying pace. But Wei Shi Lan stared indifferently.
As Sui Rong rubbed her eyes and opened them fully, a handsome smile spread on his face.
"I’m sorry to bother you like this, Lady Sui Rong. I had no idea I would take so much time."
Sui Rong was confused at first, looking at Shi Lan in silence.
’Something... feels strange, and oppressive, in a way that it wasn’t before now.’
Sui Rong had a hard time putting it together at first but as she looked at him over and over again, she began to realize. Her eyes widened and she moved her hands to cover her mouth.
When Shi Lan was going to enter the door earlier, there had been no disturbance, he had entered like a normal man. But now, the same man was standing in front of her, his frame seemed to occupy the entire space of the door.
He had grown so tall that she had to crane her neck to meet his dark eyes. And those dark eyes, they were deeper, and darker, as if there was a calm, sinister sea in his eyes. His eyes absorbed the light around him.
And his hair was so black they flowed down like linen of obsidian inks.
His shoulders had torn wider and his chest outline was peeping out of the neckline of his robe. Even though this man wore ragged robes, he was bastardly graceful.
Sui Rong felt something within her rage with a turmoil of emotion. She was a very disciplined woman and knew how to mind her business except if it hurt her pride. But this time, she couldn’t help how she felt.
She longed for this man.
Not to just be his one time... she wanted to belong to him.
She wanted him to hold her neck and draw her closer, to squeeze her rear and take her mouth into his.
He just stood, leaning on the door frame, and she was already feeling his touch on her body.
"Since, I’m in a good mood today... I’m going to grant any one of your wishes."
Wei Shi Lan’s voice caused her to shudder, as if she was caught being a bad girl.
For a moment, she stood frozen, having not fully comprehended what Wei Shi Lan had just said. But her brain did a quick recap and instantly, her eyes widened.
As she opened her mouth to say the obvious, she suddenly stopped herself, and her gaze hardened.
’No, I mustn’t be hasty. He is saying he will grant me a favor, this is besides the Special Service he promised me... should I tell him to make me his? No, no, that is also stupid, what kind of woman does that make me then?’
She stole a glance at Shi Lan before she continued her thought process.
’He is definitely not an ordinary man. His presence feels even heavier than the Patriarch, which means he might be a Cultivator, for someone like this, I can’t just make a wish that would make him feel like I’m worthless, instead, I must show him that I’m someone he must have...’
Her gaze lighted with resolve, Wei Shi Lan studied her continuously, leaning on the door frame with his arms folded.
"Are you done considering it?"
She smiled confidently and said:
"Yes, I have fully considered it. And I have a question for you... what do you want?"
Wei Shi Lan raised a brow.
"What?"
She nodded, her gaze stern.
"It is as I have said, tell me, Benevolent Leader, what do you want? I will give it to you."
Shi Lan raised a corner of his mouth.
’This woman... how daring.’
He knew what Sui Rong was trying to do here. And he was going to make her fail woefully. He would make a fool, because there was a limit to how big one’s greed could get.
He looked around the room.
"This Pavilion is a good place. Hand it over, for a start."
A cunning smile played on Wei Shi Lan’s face.
’I know you cannot do it, every woman is held back by their marriage and duties. And you’re the model of them all.’
Sui Rong was silent, looking down. She never could have thought that Shi Lan would make such an outrageous demand.
And she was conflicted for a moment.
At the same time... she was willing to make a very dangerous bet.
Her gaze met Shi Lan’s and he saw a light of determination that reminded him of someone he had almost forgotten about.
His eyes broadened slightly.
’Star Mother?’
Sui Rong’s answer came as a shock.
