Chapter 34: Satisfying Progress

"Stay outside and stand guard..." The words rang in Sui Rong’s head over and over again. She stared at the closed door, wondering what in the world Wei Shi Lan was doing in her room alone.

She tried to think of several things such a dignified man would do but couldn’t think of anything that didn’t involve her.

She wished she could spy on him, but he had asked her to stand guard and she didn’t want to disobey him and lose his favor. After all, he had promised her a special service.

Meanwhile, as Wei Shi Lan entered Sui Rong’s matrimonial room, he first walked around. Unlike Chang’e’s compact space, this place was large and beyond the foldable doors was a balcony that watched over the street beneath.

And in the center of the room was a large king-sized bed with curtains around it, but the curtains were parted and the bed was neatly arranged. It in fact seemed like someone had hurriedly arranged them not too long ago.

He carefully opened the drawers that were opposite the bed. One after the other.

He first met the underpants dense with remnant Yang Qi, he tilted his face away, utterly revolted, and moved to the next drawer, where he eventually met some linen.

He began piling up these clothes with a straight and confident look on his face. These were Sui Rong’s undergarments. Both the clean ones and the dirty ones.

Shi Lan sniffed them one after the other and brought them out.

’With this much, I should be able to push myself to the edge of the ninth level, then with Qing Rou or Chang’e’s unique constitution and Yin Qi, I will cross over to the Spirit Realm. Then I can consider leaving this town.’

All his plan so far had been for this moment. If he entered the Spirit Realm, he would be able to ascend to the Martial Realm, where far more beautiful women with excellent Martial Constitution existed. He even had a few old mates there and going to the Martial Realm would hasten his growth because almost every woman there had a unique constitution even though it wasn’t as good as Qing Rou’s.

So he could not afford to be distracted.

Even though his dragon was rock hard, craving for some action. Wei Shi Lan suppressed his monstrous desire and instead, sat down on Sui Rong’s bed, taking her panties one after the other and sniffing them.

The Primordial Dark Sea stirred a little at first.

The response to the Yin Qi was very instantaneous.

’Just like I suspected...’

Sui Rong was not blessed with a unique constitution like Chang’e and Qing Rou, however, she was a lonely woman with a rich essence that came from the nature of her soul.

She was the type of raw material, that had no talent but would blossom profoundly if cultivated, simply because it was favored by the world. A kind of woman that grew up getting what she wanted.

And the leak from such a woman would undoubtedly carry a portion of that nature. Their essence.

And Sui Rong in particular, carried one that had been lasting for decades.

’She’s a lonely and dissatisfied woman and yet, she doesn’t go sleeping around like her husband.’

Shi Lan stared at those panties and shook his head.

"You definitely, do not deserve a man like him."

Shi Lan clenched her undergarment in his fist tightly, looking at the door with a piercing gaze. He sighed and continued his cultivation.

The Dark Qi of the Primordial Dark Sea absorbed the Yin Qi at a frightening rate and was using it to build itself, swelling in size and even rushing through all of Wei Shi Lan’s Meridians.

As this continued, he took the assistance of its flow to expand the Vital Pillars into thirty six. It was an arduous and painful process. One that required utmost focus.

But Wei Shi Lan had a flood of Qi to depend on and his Dark Qi made cultivation seamless because it was eager to absorb and digest the Yin Qi.

And in turn filling Wei Shi Lan with strength.

The first twelve pillars of the Thirty-six Vital Pillar Circulation Art had awakened his mortal body, cleared all his blockades and prepared his spirit foundation. The next twelve restructured his organs, hardened his spine and caused stability and harmony with his Qi.

Now, extending it to thirty-six, his Qi was further condensed into thirty six meridian nodes across his body. Each node becoming a Qi Pillar that anchors the circulation network.

This furthermore increased his Qi stability, enhancing his meridians and physical endurance.

While this Circulation Art may seem ordinary, this was a strong foundation that Wei Shi Lan wished to have had. And it would go to solve many of his future problems with cultivation breakthrough.

A lot of young Cultivators were absorbed with shiny techniques and quick growth. While that wasn’t bad, the foundation was far more important and beneficial than that. But many cultivators were often blind, failing to see the Mount Tai before them.

After spending a few hours circulating his Qi and managing to compress into the thirty six pillars. Another boost exploded his body.

The seventh level of the Mortal Realm was the Qi Compression Realm, which had the Early, Middle and Peak Stage. At this level the Qi becomes denser, the Cultivator techniques gain explosive power and highly refined Qi dramatically strengthens attack and defense.

The Eighth level was the Internal Refinement Level, where the Qi nourished internal Organs, the body durability increased significantly that the Cultivator could crash through a mountain and still be unscathed. Their flesh and bones became extremely resilient.

All of this was what extending the Thirty-six pillars did for Wei Shi Lan and with the astonishing Stability his Qi received, the ninth level was achieved.

The Mortal Perfection Level was one where one’s Qi control became powerfully precise, at the middle stage, the Body and the Qi fully harmonized and at the peak stage they form a Spirit Seed.

Sadly, Wei Shi Lan was not able to form a Spirit Seed because his Qi source dried out before he could attempt to form a Seed.

When he opened his eyes, the bright light that seeped in through the windows when he first came here were gone, replaced by the absence of light. Everywhere was covered in a cold darkness.

Wei Shi Lan looked at his hands, studying himself.

’It took me a bit of time, but I managed to reach the Peak Stage, this body is amazing, the Primordial Dark Sea is amazing too. And using the Thirty-six Vital Pillar Circulation Art was indeed the correct call.’

Wei Shi Lan, looking pleased and satisfied with his progress, looked to the door and called on the woman behind it.
