Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System
Chapter 1615: Soul Guardian Kenzie
Kent turned and saw that the Wingless Tree Dragon was now flying around in his soul sea, almost as if it hadn’t tried to kill him just now.
None of it makes sense, yet somehow everything makes sense.
Lady Kenzie, who was supposed to cease to exist, had surprisingly returned as his Soul Guardian. While having a guardian of the soul sounds cool, what does it mean to be a Soul Guardian?
"First, let’s sit down." Lady Kenzie waved her hand, and a throne appeared for Kent to sit on. He did, and she also sat back down on her throne.
The tree had many colored fruits hanging off its branches.
Kent felt the urge to pluck some and taste them. However, he stopped himself from doing that. Just because it looks like fruit doesn’t mean he should eat it.
"Now, where do we start?"
"You can start by telling me who a Soul Guardian is and what role you are meant to play inside my soul sea." This might just answer all the nagging questions on his mind.
"First of all, you must understand that I am someone who has never existed. My kind has never existed before, simply because the role of a Soul Guardian is linked to a soul body.
Whenever you are attacked using a soul technique, it falls on your soul body to defend your soul from being harmed. Of course, in most cases, those who cultivate their souls as their primary focus develop defence mechanisms to protect them.
All those techniques and methods can be considered guardianship. However, true guardianship involves guarding, protecting, and nourishing the soul.
A Soul Guardian is someone who, on their own, can create measures to protect your soul without you even knowing. If, say, someone were to invade your soul while you are passed out, no amount of soul protection treasures or skills can save you.
However, if there is a Soul Guardian, then I can simply fight the battles that are beyond your reach. I can utilise just about anything inside your soul sea to defend you.
I am linked to your soul, so even if your body is destroyed, as long as there is a guardian as resourceful as I am, you wouldn’t have to worry about dying.
Aside from that, I can cultivate your soul provided you want me to. Naturally, I have the power to make your soul the most protected part of your being."
Kent got the gist of things despite the lady blowing her own horn.
From what she said, if she were to be compared to the Soul Warriors, then her role is to remain inside Kent’s soul while the Soul Warriors roam outside. Their job was to invade other souls, while hers was to protect him.
’But is that all she can do?’ Kent turned and looked at the dragon again.
"I feel like you are not telling me everything. For starters, where did that dragon come from, and more importantly, aren’t you a healer or something? How can a healer defend my soul aside from waiting for me to be hurt so she can heal me?"
Kent smiled.
"Lord Kent is indeed right. I am merely a healer. However, I am also a guardian now, so I naturally have the means to protect Lord Kent’s soul."
"Linda is the first warrior I have under me. She hatched a few days ago and has already reached the rank of God Ascension. If her siblings also hatch, I would have an army large enough to defend your soul."
Kent’s brow furrowed.
"So what is your current rank?"
"I can’t estimate. However, I have reasons to believe my rank would be above the God stage. For now, I have limited features to work with since your soul isn’t strong enough. However, with me here, I will start the soul tempering process. This will push me further to unlocking more abilities."
"Cool. Then what can you do at the moment?"
Lady Kenzie thought for a moment, and then she waved her hand, and they vanished. The next second, they appeared beside Gaap and the Resentful spear Kent purchased at the auction.
"I can sense a very powerful soul hidden within this spear. While the spear itself is broken, I can repurpose it into a dagger or perhaps a rapier and resurrect the weapon spirit’s evolution traits, allowing it to grow again."
Kent widened his eyes, but he knew he had no reason to deprive Gaap of his food. He had been absorbing the resentment from the spear all this while. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Even as he stood there, he could tell Gaap was still absorbing the resentful energy.
Kent was about to reject her proposal when Gaap opened his eyes and said:
"I think you should do that. I have absorbed more than enough resentment to break the second seal. Once that seal is broken, I can further break the remaining seven without its assistance. So transform it into a dagger."
"Are you sure?" Kent asked, and Gaap nodded.
"You already have me as your sword and the new guy as your spear. I believe a dagger is long overdue."
Kent nodded and turned to Lady Kenzie. "Time for you to prove your powers for me to see."
She smiled and nodded.
Kent expected her to form hand seals and perhaps prepare something intricate. However, she merely waved her hand, and a diagram appeared beneath the spear, and soon a cocoon formed around it.
"Done. It would take a couple of days to fully awaken, so you must use the time you have to find a good name. I believe something good would soon come to you."
Kent nodded, but inwardly, he was stunned by how easily she used her abilities. This showed she had long since gotten used to her abilities, so she could use them freely.
"So aside from me, can you aid anybody else?"
"Yes. While protecting your soul is my primary objective, I happen to be a healer, so whoever is connected to you can be healed by me, provided they don’t die outright.
Of course, I also have some fruit that would go a long way toward healing. You don’t need them, since I am the full package. However, your friends would benefit from them."
Hearing that made him happy.
Although Elaine is a good healer, she cannot offer her help unless she isn’t present. However, with Lady Kenzie now inside his soul, unless the person is linked to him, she can assist.
But as she said, she had fruits that would aid others, provided he was there to give them to his friends and legion.
Kent knew there was more he must learn about Lady Kenzie, so he made sure the next hour was spent asking question after question.
After he had learned enough, he went back to Gaap.
"Buddy, I hope you will be available in a few days’ time, say two days from now. We have a huge battle that requires only swordsmanship, so I would need you."
"I will be ready, master. I just have to make sure the first seal has been properly explored before breaking the second. That would take about a day or two."
Kent nodded, and after a few minutes of talking, he returned to Lady Kenzie...
"I am leaving now. If you need anything, feel free to let me know."
Since she can’t leave his soul sea, Kent wanted to make sure she had everything.
He may owe some tower points, but he knew that, aside from being made to go on a terrible quest, he could add more to his debt.
He soon opened his eyes just in time for the first crack to appear in Kharvok’s ice cocoon.
