Primal Dragon: The Dragon and Phoenix Empresses are Obsessed with Me!
Chapter 110: Entering
Dresh looked at the door; there was just the final formation left right now. Her eyes, although not exhausted, had certainly dimmed a bit.
Tilting her head, she looked at Emperal beside her. His struggle, his will, and his stubbornness. Throughout the ordeal, he hadn’t complained even once. Nothing.
He would just occasionally ask about a certain formation or look at it closely, as if he were studying it.
Then he would nod and continue with his work. She was genuinely flabbergasted by his sheer grit.
And...him.
The entire time, she couldn’t take her eyes off him, even once. She genuinely felt like she should just sit here and see him work all day...for her.
But alas, good times had to come to an end someday.
"So? This is the last formation, huh?"
Emperal stepped towards Dresh...a bit too close. He stood behind her and glanced at the door, which looked as unassuming as ever.
Dresh felt heat rush towards her neck, and she merely gave a nod. Refusing to speak, or else he would definitely suspect something.
"Then what are you waiting for? Just open it?"
Emperal couldn’t help but speak. Dresh exhaled lightly when she heard him.
"This last one...requires a Dual Verth signature. Meaning two different Verth should be mingled and flowed inside."
"Hmm, I have to give it to the guy. He was certainly...creative."
Emperal sighed, a second later, his lips curled up lightly. Dresh’s breath hitched as she felt a certain warmth cover the back of her palm.
"Let’s do it."
"...Mhm."
Both of their Verth flashed and flowed into the formation. Their hands were pressed together on the door. Dresh’s mind was in chaos, Emperal’s broad chest was directly touching her back.
Even though long years of living had altered her mind and body...she felt helpless when it came to Emperal.
There was just something else in him that she couldn’t pinpoint.
"Huff...huff. Dresh, how much longer?"
A few minutes later. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Emperal’s words brought her back to reality; her ears twitched as she looked back. His face...it was overflowing with sweat.
His eyes were heavy, and his muscles seemed to be contracting inwardly. Dresh’s expression changed drastically.
"Shit! I forgot he has fewer Verth reserves!"
Dresh immediately panicked, waving her other hand. A green petal formed on her hand. Without hesitation, she shoved it in his mouth.
Emperal, who was almost on the verge of fainting...felt a warm feeling rush towards him. His exerted Verth threads, his Spirit Root...everything felt alive.
Verth gushed inside his Spirit Root from the Verth Spring. And in turn...it was funnelled back into the formation.
"...Thanks."
Emperal breathed a sigh of relief, but...this wasn’t a permanent solution. His goal...he had to do it.
At this moment, he dared not use the Soul Energy. Because looking at his seed, he was scared that it would break apart from overworking.
Finally, after several minutes...the light of the formation dimmed. And in the next instant, a brilliant light flashed. Blinding Emperal.
"What...?"
He covered his eyes, feeling the blinding radiance. Only a second later did it recede.
His eyes fluttered open...and the moment they did. His jaw fell to the ground.
"Hehe~ Surprised, right? This...this is the Inheritance place of one of the greatest and earliest...clans in the history of Verandis."
"This...certainly gives the word ’earliest’ justice. Just whose inheritance is this?"
The moment the door opened, it was like a new world opened to them. Inside the chamber...there was something—something dual.
The chamber was wide and open, but the strange thing was...half of the chamber was white and the other half, black.
Yes, it was pure dark and pure white. An eerie but beautiful contrast.
"Wait...black and white. This...Dresh, isn’t this—!!"
Emperal immediately halted, snapping his head around. He saw an unbelievable scene. The always confident and playful Dresh...had tears running down her cheeks.
Her eyes were slightly red, her lips parted, but there were no words.
Emperal immediately understood this, "So this is indeed their clan’s Inheritance."
He didn’t speak, but stood there silently.
After all, this was...personal. If she wanted his help or words, he would definitely help.
After a few minutes, Dresh released a long sigh. Her tears had dried up. Looking at Emperal, she smiled wryly.
"I apologise, I must have looked miserable just now."
"You seem to have a special connection to this place, Dresh. Is this inheritance left by someone you were close to?"
Instead of answering the question, he shot another one. Dresh smiled when she noticed that. Tilting her head towards the chamber, she spoke.
"It is, Emperal. More specifically, this was left behind by my father. Astryssil Zephrus, and this thing has been sitting here for...more than a hundred millennia."
Emperal’s expression changed when he heard that, "The timeline doesn’t match Dresh. I am confused. You are his daughter. But he seemed to be—"
"Yes, you aren’t wrong. It may seem like nonsense, but it is the truth. I am his one and only daughter."
Now this was...even more confusing. Emperal would bet his left ball on this that Dresh wasn’t a hundred-million-year-old antique.
"Hehe~ Come inside, I’ll tell you after I get the inheritance."
She stepped forward and entered the weird chamber. Emperal sighed.
"Man, I hate mysteries and being blue-balled."
Shaking his head, he followed her.
Once inside, he curiously looked around. It was somewhat amusing to see how the chamber was divided into black and white, similar to Yin and Yang.
But, strangely, the chamber was empty. There was nothing in here aside from that...
"Emperal, come here. This is the place."
Dresh called out loud, making Emperal turn his head. In the center of the chamber, there was a big altar.
On top of it was nothing, just a few steps. That’s it.
It was also half black and half white in colour. Emperal stepped forward curiously.
"Is this altar where the...Inheritance is?" Standing next to Dresh, he asked about the altar. Dresh nodded when she heard that.
"It is indeed. This is where you drop your blood essence. Only you are the key to this Inheritance Emperal."
Dresh spoke; her voice was heavy. He could feel that the millennia-old woman was slightly nervous.
Without hesitation, he drew his sword and slashed his arm!
Drip. Drip. Drip.
