Seraph turned around in astonishment, his gaze falling on Sera who had a clouded look in her eyes.
’She must be suffering from something. Hm, alright.’
Since he had already turned, he was forced to look at the others.
They were staring at him with complicated gazes until Sylvia spoke.
"Seraph, burn the bodies."
Seraph turned to her, then nodded.
If there was anyone else here who had killed Inferno Sect disciples befy, it was Sylvia.
Four fire arrows flew out, burning the corpses to ashes.
Seraph didn’t even turn to acknowledge them.
Sylvia turned around and headed back to the grazing bisons.
"You all better prepare yourselves. The war between us was inevitable from the start."
The mood was low and gloomy, so Seraph clapped loudly, grinning.
"What are you all sulking about? We came here to feed the bisons and play. Not mourn the dead."
Covering his face, he shook his head tiredly.
"Sigh... it’s hard to be the only adult in the group."
At his comment, Dera’s eyes widened. "Hey! You’re lying!"
Beside her, Sera’s eyes cleared and she nodded.
"You’re the second-youngest. You’re not old at all."
Seraph’s lips twitched, but he couldn’t defend himself. He could only smile bitterly and run after Sylvia.
"Hmph! Senior Brother Seraph is really a kid. Tch."
Dera snorted, falling onto the grass and rolling around playfully.
"This place is so different from the snow of the Winter Peak."
Sera, Tamar, and Ariana lay down beside her, their expressions relaxing.
"Hm." Ariana nodded, barely smiling.
"Hey..." Sera called out to her, her tone hesitant. "Can you tell me more about him? I know you guys were close when you were young but..."
Ariana shot her a glance, suspicion in her blue eyes.
"Hm, why do you want to know? Very suspicious."
"This..."
Unfortunately, Sera couldn’t give a proper reason. In the end, it was Tamar who helped her out.
"We just want to know."
Ariana pouted, then sighed. "Well, there’s not much to know about big brother. He had one older sister, a good family, not so many friends, but he was very liked in our clan. Besides, he’s very cute so people liked playing with him."
"And like I said before, he trained me how to use weapons. He even helped us fight our war back then."
Dera immediately grew interested. "A war?"
Ariana nodded, her nose flaring. "Yeah. Our neighboring clans wanted to take Seraph and I away. Three clan! Those bastards attacked us in the middle of the night."
Tamar blinked, looking at her in surprise.
"Wow... you guys were seen as treasures because of your aptitude? No wonder they wanted you guys so bad."
The silver-haired girl sneered and nodded.
"Honestly, I don’t know how my father knew, but it’s somewhat related to big brother, I guess. After all, he was in the smithery all day."
Sera sat up, barely keeping a composed expression.
"Really? He knows how to make weapons?"
As if remembering something, Ariana’s eyes lit up.
"Of course! I just remembered now, but he even helped to modify some of our blacksmith’s forging techniques. He’s really a prodigy."
"Wow..."
Sera and Tamar were dumbfounded.
Meanwhile, Dera rolled her eyes. "Aren’t you guys just glazing him? You don’t know maybe he has a soul with thousands of years of knowledge."
Feeling the three girls glare at her, she immediately changed her tone.
"Yeah, you’re right. Senior Brother Seraph is so cool."
Seraph sat beside Sylvia, overseeing the stretch of grassland before them.
The Sky Bisons grazed on grass like gentle herbivores, making him realize that this world was just too strange.
’I mean, I can understand antelopes and giraffes, but these bisons look like man-eating monsters with a gentle face.’
In reality, they were actually gentle monsters that excelled in flight.
’I wonder how that little dragon is doing now.’
"You aren’t going to say a thing?"
Sylvia turned to him, her expression unreadable.
He sighed. "Well, I thought you’d say something first. You’re the older one."
Her stare turned into a glare, and she said in an annoyed voice.
"Aren’t you the one always acting older? You’re 17. Not even an adult yet. Sometimes you should act like your age."
Seraph just chuckled. "Alright, alright. I’ll try to act like my age."
Inwardly, Halo chuckled too. ["Hehe. If only they knew you were a 52 year-old daddy, they wouldn’t come close to you."]
He ignored it’s comment, wisely choosing to continue talking with Sylvia.
"That’s not what matters right now, though. The Inferno Sect. Can we truly take them on?"
Sylvia didn’t answer immediately. She looked northeast, where the sun was rising, then shook her head.
"I’m not sure. Those guys are very strong. And they have thousands of disciples with fire affinity. In the whole of the Orchid Province, they’re the most destructive sect."
Seraph smiled at her answer. "Oh. That’s relieving. I didn’t know it was that bad."
Shooting him another glare for the sarcasm, Sylvia looked back at the bisons.
"Our Soul Cross Sect is usually neutral and not involved in conflicts, so we’ve grown slightly weak. At least, that’s what my sister says."
Seraph rubbed his chin, thinking. "If that’s the case, others should have targeted the sect in the past, right?"
She nodded, her black eyes gleaming. "Yes. But we have the Sect Master. He’s so powerful, that he’s feared by the other sect masters. Honestly, he’s the only thing keeping us standing."
Seraph froze, suddenly remembered the person he had fought during the entrance examination.
’Why would I suddenly remember that...?’
Shaking the thought away, he stood up.
"Conflict seems inevitable now. And I am already contributing to it. So I should return early and complete Elder Song’s healing. Then, I’ll be able to join in on the chaotic fun."
Sylvia glanced at him and rolled her eyes. "That smile on your face is no way charming."
"Hm, I know."
Humming, Seraph skipped towards the bisons, looking completely carefree. In his heart though, he felt a burning desire to start a conquest.
’I just want a war!!!’
