Players Invade Cyberpunk
Chapter 965 - 311: Do I Have a Habit of Arriving Early?
Gloria asked, "Should we go look for them?"
She noticed that these people seemed quite concerned about the so-called guerrilla group, but Gloria didn't know the exact reason. It seemed to involve some privacy issues, making it inconvenient for her to inquire.
The Killer Demon shook his head.
"No, now is not the time. We still know too little about this place. The priority is still to contact the drug dealers here as soon as possible to see what their attitude is."
Guerrillas are guerrillas; how that group operates is another matter entirely.
It's possible they're just bait used by those drug dealers to lure out opposition, and exposing their mission in Cuba would ruin everything.
Even if they want to make contact, they shouldn't go. They need to find another group of players to go.
"Hey."
Olivia suddenly spoke up.
"That bald bastard contacted me, said to meet tonight at room 4607 of the Olter Hotel. Left me hanging for over a month; if it were before, I would have twisted his head off and hung it on the car roof to dry in the sun."
On the surface, Olivia was the leader of this team, and Gloria was just the accompanying physician.
Olivia snarled viciously, as if she couldn't wait to bite off a chunk of that bald guy's head.
Cuba's sun was much harsher than California's, and now in August, it's the hottest time, and she was really suffering from the heat.
The expert mused.
"Looks like the Night City line has been completely cut off by the BOSS, otherwise those bastards would still leave us hanging."
"Let's go check it out."
Gloria said.
"Mr. Lin has already defeated Hansen and is rebuilding order in Dog Town. Cuba is crucial to his goals, and we must take down the outpost to live up to his trust."
"David."
Her eyes were complicated; if possible, she really didn't want him to come to this dangerous place, but there was no choice now.
"Stay by Mr. Reid's side, don't wander." (Red Killer Demon: Reid Coleman)
"Don't worry, mother."
David patted his chest, grabbed a gun from the side, and tucked it into his waist. A month of grinding had made his eyes determined, with the expert personally teaching him how to shoot and fight.
He seemed to be a natural warrior, learning everything very quickly.
"I won't disappoint you and Mr. Lin."
────────
Maybe it's because Mexico and Latin America are so close that Cuba's art style is similar to the Valentino Gang, liking gold, with graffiti culture flourishing and a strong religious atmosphere.
However, this is Catholic territory, with very few areas belonging to the Death Goddess's realm, and most of the graffiti are crosses and images of Jesus.
The Havana Drug Trafficking Group even built a nearly a hundred-meter-high metallic statue of Jesus being crucified in the city center.
Not just Havana, but drug dealers across Cuba seem to love building huge buildings or statues to highlight their extraordinary achievements.
The expert thinks this is probably similar to the logic of those wealthy people who like to donate to temples for charity.
If God really existed, the expert figured he would wipe out these addicts first before flooding the world again.
The expert held the steering wheel; the further they drove, the sparser the traffic became, and the buildings along the way started to become luxuriously tall, brightly lit.
This made him say:
"Reid, you know... what this thing we're doing here in Cuba reminds me of?"
"What?"
"Ghost Recon Wildlands, Far Cry, with dictators and drug dealers everywhere on the map waiting for us to eliminate. If there were more question marks on the map, it would be just perfect for a potato flavor...."
"I only played Minesweeper and Spider Solitaire in computer class, never other games, I don't understand what you're saying."
"Come on, what are you doing now? You need to get into it, understand? What's the point of playing a game if you're not immersed?"
Unlike the serious Red Killer Demon, the expert was an old game enthusiast, having dabbled in almost everything, which is why he got game access so early on.
Others behind indeed noticed the game, but there were so many bizarre things here, leaving them unsure how far this place was from reality.
At least reality wouldn't just conjure things out of thin air.
And the Killer Demon said nothing, still keeping his head down drawing on the mini-map. Their footprints covered almost all of Havana in these days. The drug dealers were observing them, and they were observing the drug dealers in turn, having even entered the casinos several times, thrown out a few times after losing, as the Chaotic Blade Association must have its style.
The murmurs of the two made Olivia especially curious. Unlike Gloria, who was used to not understanding what the players were talking about.
So she poked David in the waist.
"Hey... what are they talking about?"
David also looked confused.
"I don't know, can't understand."
"Tsk, useless little guy; you've been hanging around them all day, yet you haven't learned a thing."
Among the group, Olivia could only bully David.
She took out a cigar she bought from the car seat and held it in front of David.
David looked at her blankly: "What for?"
"Light it, what else?"
Olivia's look was full of confidence, an expression of complete mob-like swagger, and her tone was even more arrogant and domineering.
"I'm the boss here now, the one up front is my driver, you're my bodyguard and the one in the passenger seat up front; do you expect the boss to light her own cigar?"
"....."
David looked at Gloria, and only after seeing Gloria nod helplessly, did he angrily take out a clipper, clip the tip, and light it with a lighter for her.
