Chapter 311: The Man...The Secret (Ch.311)

’Whatever it takes to win...’ Adrienne reminded herself within her mind, sucking in a deep breath to calm her trembling heart.

Adrienne had come knowing she was taking a wrong path, but it had taken the words of the seer to open her eyes to the fact that the path did not matter.

If Adrienne failed, it was not her alone but her entire clan who would be placed at risk.

’If the High Queen could kill for her own desire, cast the blame elsewhere and doom generations after, why must I walk a right path?’

’Whichever path takes me to the side of the dragon king is the right path.’ Adrienne thought to herself.

When Adrienne’s heart rate had returned to normal, she sucked in another shaky breath and lifted her gaze to the seer.

Her hands moved up to furiously wipe away the tears that gathered in her eyes.

"Tell me what to do...to bring down the obstacle in my path. As long as she is in my way, I can never be reassured." Adrienne enquired of the seer.

"A name?" The seer asked Adrienne.

"Neveah Omega Lothaire, a princess from the Eclipse Domain of wolf territory across the seas. She manipulates the hearts of the dragon lords and to destroy her..."

"I wish to know her greatest secret, her greatest fear, her greatest weakness and her greatest pain... anything and everything that may end her for good." Adrienne said in determination, pulling out a piece of clothing she had stolen away that belonged to Neveah.

Adrienne handed it over to the seer, a personal item was always needed to create a link.

"Neveah Omega Lothaire?...By what can she be destroyed?" The seer asked quietly as his eyes fluttered closed and he began his divination.

Adrienne waited anxiously as the seer murmured chants quietly beneath his breath, she watched his every action carefully and with great anticipation.

The seer chanted for a short while before his hand reached for a dagger at his side, he slit a finger and drew a line of blood over both eyes.

He also dipped the piece of clothing into a bowl of fresh blood Adrienne had not noticed before.

’Blood sacrifice... this is dark magic.’ Adrienne thought to herself.

There were many forms and arts of dark magic and blood sacrifice was one of the most unique and inconspicuous.

Unlike other arts of dark magic which left behind a potent aura that the dragons would sense from any distant.

One could never sense that a person had practiced the art of blood sacrifice since it left no noticeable effect on the sorcerer.

More than that, the art of blood sacrifice was unpredictable, while it could provide others with otherworldly magical powers, the seer...

Or more accurately sorcerer before Adrienne’s eyes used blood sacrifice to see beyond the veil of mortal life.

Truly this was not just a seer, but a sorcerer who had practiced the art of blood sacrifice to mastery that even his physical appearance had taken the liking of a young boy that was barely ten summers old.

Adrienne could now understand it clearly that this appearance of the sorcerer was a deception, this sorcerer was one who had seen many centuries.

And all along, while the world believed the dark sorcerers had been annihilated,

There were still some remnants, littered across the stronghold, living in the shadows and concealing their identity.

This seer was but one of them and here he was, in Downtown, a district of Keep Skies, right under the noses of the dragon lords and yet his existence went unnoticed.

Adrienne had never thought she would meet a true dark sorcerer herself, not to speak of consulting with one or seeking his aid but here she was.

This was how the dark sorcerers had come to power in the first place, when the hearts of men grew greedy and desperate and turned to their dark arts for aid.

Adrienne knew all of this, she had been taught of it countless times, to guard against greed and misplaced desires, but what was a man without desires?

Adrienne shook her head, forcing away any stray thoughts of guilt that crept up...the end would certainly justify the means were the words with which she reassured her doubts.

Somewhere in the back of Adrienne’s mind, she could not help but wonder how long the peace and stability of dragon dynasty would last when enemies lurked everywhere.

But Adrienne again squashed the thought and focused on the seer’s divination.

It took a short while, but finally, the eyes of the seer came open, his blank whites lifting up to meet Adrienne’s expectant gaze.

"The one you speak off does not have many weaknesses...she has lost so much that she already has become someone with nothing to lose." The seer began.

Adrienne’s shoulders slumped in disappointment but her expectations were fired up again when the seer continued speaking.

"However...there is one I see..." The seer continued.

"Tell me... what have you seen?" Adrienne asked anxiously.

"There is a man from her past, a powerful man and in his hands lies her greatest weakness..."

"This man I speak of is by himself the greatest pain of the wolf princess and above it all, her greatest secret is also him." The seer continued.

"I do not understand your words." Adrienne said in confusion.

"This man shares a special bond with the girl, Neveah. A bond that grows stronger within them while neither knows of it...the strands of their fate were tied together right from their birth."

"A half of her soul matches his...a bond of soulmates." The seer revealed.

Adrienne’s eyes widened and a quiet gasp escaped her.

"Neveah already had a mate? And she concealed this fact and was going to bond with Lord Menarx?" Adrienne murmured to herself before her lips stretched into a sinister smile.

"What more do you know of this man?" Adrienne asked quickly.

"His eyes are a bright shade of green and his heart is full of darkness and bloodshed, but what is greater is a strong desire to reclaim that which was his."

"He will stop at nothing to have the girl Neveah back with him and at this very moment, a gift from him arrives the sea port of dragon keep." The seer revealed.
