Chapter 1387: Chapter 1384: Playing the “Conman”

"So..." the Sword Spirit concluded, "What you need to do now is gather enough quality materials and then find a suitable energy source. That’s the basic preparation."

"Alright, the main material is indeed a problem, but I already have the energy source, energy that can rival the power of fire, there’s not much of it, I fear." Lin Tian shrugged helplessly, but at least he didn’t need to worry about the energy source.

To his surprise, the Sword Spirit bounced a few times, opposing: "You can’t use your fire power. With your current strength, the new weapon might suck you dry all at once. Besides, even if it doesn’t, you could sustain severe damage and possibly drop in rank. What’s the point in getting a new weapon if you lose ranks?"

"Drop in rank? Is there really such a thing?" Lin Tian asked in surprise.

"Of course there’s such a thing. Whether it’s an Ancient Martial Artist, a Guardian, a Wizard, or a vampire, if their essence is damaged, their strength could regress, causing a drop in rank. Take Charlotte for instance, currently a primary level Prince. If her vampire essence is damaged, she might drop to a Lord level. Although it’s not a guaranteed occurrence, it’s something you have to guard against." The Sword Spirit said excitedly, with a very solemn tone.

Just having the idea of forging a weapon got so complicated; Lin Tian could only shake his head and say, "Let’s put weapon forging on hold for now. I don’t have the time to search for crafting materials."

"Whatever you want, anyway, following you means having food and drink, I’m not in a rush." The Sword Spirit said shamelessly.

Lin Tian gave it a roll of the eyes and ignored its protest, reaching out to put it away. They were at ten thousand meters high, if the Sword Spirit caused trouble, the plane couldn’t withstand its destruction. Lin Tian didn’t want to test whether a free-falling zombie from ten thousand meters up remains intact.

The flight still had a long way to go; Lin Tian returned to the cabin to rest his eyes. The Blood Clan stewardess, arranged by Charlotte, provided food and drinks for the journey, leaving Lin Tian without worries.

Amid the announcements, the plane began to glide and landed at Xikou City Airport.

"Lord Lin Tian, we have arrived at Xikou City. Do you have any orders?" the Blood Clan stewardess asked politely.

"Just hand me the briefcase, no need to see me off," Lin Tian replied casually.

The stewardess turned away, and the briefcase was soon in Lin Tian’s hand. He gestured with his eyes for her to open the cabin door.

Due to the time difference between Huaxia and England, it was morning in Xikou City when the cabin door opened, and the morning sunlight streamed in. Lin Tian felt incredibly comfortable, thinking to himself that it felt great to be back on his own turf.

However, the stewardess behind him didn’t feel the same comfort. The instant the sunlight came in, the two stewardesses instinctively stepped back, stopping only when they reached the shadows.

Both stewardesses were of the Blood Clan, instinctively disliking sunlight, even though it could no longer harm them.

Lin Tian glanced back, chuckled slightly, and said, "You don’t need to come down, just head back when the time comes."

"But Lord instructed us to escort Lord Lin Tian to the residence." The female Blood Clan stewardess explained, a bit embarrassed by her earlier action.

"Don’t worry, I won’t tell your Lord," Lin Tian waved them off, turning with a flourish, and descended the gangway.

Upon reaching ground level, Lin Tian bent down to touch the cemented pavement. After all he had been through in England, at this moment, Huaxia’s land felt especially dear to him.

Most planes here were private jets, and passengers were all wealthy individuals. As Lin Tian exhibited this unusual behavior, these sharp-dressed businessmen and rich heirs cast strange looks his way.

Ignoring their stares, Lin Tian stood up without bothering to dust himself off, walking out of the airport chest up high, only to stop suddenly after stepping outside the airport’s doors.

Because he realized that he hadn’t brought any money. It’s not that he didn’t have any money, but what he did have were British Pounds, which couldn’t pay for a taxi, and more importantly, his phone was gone, so he couldn’t make any calls.

Shit, I went too far trying to be cool; should’ve let the female Blood Clan give me a ride, Lin Tian thought, feeling really dejected, but too embarrassed to turn back now.

Lin Tian turned his head and saw a woman not far away who seemed friendly, so he walked over, carrying the briefcase.

"Hello, miss, sorry to bother you," Lin Tian tried his best to speak gently.

The young woman turned her face towards Lin Tian, and seeing it was a handsome guy making an approach, her face slightly reddened. "You... need something?"

"Uh, could I borrow your phone? You see, I came down in a hurry and forgot mine, and all I have are foreign currencies." Lin Tian explained honestly, to prove he wasn’t lying, he even pulled out some British Pounds.

He didn’t really expect success because the request sounded too much like a scam. Unexpectedly, the young lady promptly handed her phone over.

This girl is too naïve, Lin Tian thought, taken aback. However, just as he was about to take the phone, another person suddenly intervened, pulling the young lady aside.

This was also a young woman, dressed very fashionably but wearing large sunglasses, obscuring her entire face.

The fashionable woman gave Lin Tian a wary look, and said disdainfully, "You con artist, trying to scam people with phony foreign money. Beat it, or I’ll call the police."

After speaking, she disregarded Lin Tian’s expression and turned angrily to scold the young lady, "What’s wrong with you? I told you to wait for me, but you almost got scammed. If you get cheated, it’s one thing, but once it’s known that my assistant got swindled, where’s my face?"

"I... I’m sorry, I’ll be more careful next time," the young lady said apprehensively.

"Hmph!" The stylish woman snorted heavily, without casting another glance at Lin Tian, and dragged the young lady away.

The head-on scolding left Lin Tian dazed, and when he came to, the two women had already gone far. He shook his head slightly and thought helplessly, never imagined I’d ever be mistaken for a scam artist.

As he turned to continue walking, a voice full of doubt suddenly called out to him.

"Brother Tian, is that you?" The sound came from behind him.

Lin Tian turned in surprise, seeing a group of young men and women standing behind him. They were all attractive, with one of the boys having completely white hair.

"Mr. Qi, is it really you?" Lin Tian said in surprise, recognizing the white-haired young man as Mr. Qi, the Qi Family heir who had once suffered terribly from Gu.

"Brother Tian, it’s really you!" Mr. Qi said excitedly, and the young men and women behind him were amazed, looking at Lin Tian curiously.

Mr. Qi turned to them and said, "You all head back first." Though still curious, the young men and women nodded and left as instructed.

Once they had left, Lin Tian asked, "Who are they...?"

"They are all performers under your company." Mr. Qi replied.
