Zombie Bodyguard-Chapter 1386 - 1383: Forging Isn’t That Simple
Lin Tian made quite a haul in England this time. Aside from the medicine cauldron and the magical transforming Stone, he even overachieved, not only acquiring Charlotte’s blood but also obtaining the bloodline of Houqing.
Lin Tian originally thought seeking out all five bloodlines would be challenging, yet he didn’t expect to obtain two of them during this trip. Reviewing his gains, he noted the remaining ones were the Jiang Chen Bloodline and Ying Gou Bloodline, with the final item being the Shennong Ding.
The clue to the Jiang Chen Bloodline lies with Xu Feibai. As long as he finds him, there will be a way to acquire Jiang Chen’s bloodline. Presently, the most challenging are the Ying Gou Bloodline and Shennong Ding, as he has no information on these; even with a keen intention, he can’t act upon them.
For now, Lin Tian can only take it step-by-step. Perhaps during his investigation into Xu Feibai, he might uncover news about the Ying Gou Bloodline and Shennong Ding.
He reached out his hand, and two Blood Pearls floated up: one from Houqing and the other from Charlotte. Comparing them, one can discern the gap between the two.
The blood of Houqing carries an ancient, chaotic aura. When his spiritual sense probes it, a wildness from primordial times can be felt. Charlotte’s blood, however, pales in comparison, both in energy level and perception, clearly not in the same league as Houqing’s blood.
However, upon close examination, there’s a peculiar aura within Houqing’s blood. Lin Tian suspects this aura originates from Cain’s most pure bloodline, yet this bloodline hasn’t fully awakened.
After observing and analyzing for a while, Lin Tian stowed away the two Blood Pearls, a thought sparking in his mind as he released the Sword Spirit from the Sword of the King. But the Sword Spirit lay dormant in his hand, motionless, probably still asleep, though Lin Tian thought disdainfully it slept like a pig.
"Hey, wake up, still sleeping?" Lin Tian shouted.
The thing flickered briefly but remained still, much like a person turning over in bed to continue sleeping. Lin Tian raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint crossing his eyes, as a purple flame suddenly enveloped the Sword Spirit in his palm.
"Ah..."
A scream rang out within the cabin as the Sword Spirit sprang up, nearly hitting the top of the cabin. With its capabilities, who knows if it might pierce through the cabin.
Two stewardesses hurriedly entered, anxiously and worriedly asking, "Master Lin Tian, what happened?"
"It’s nothing; carry on with your tasks, don’t mind me," Lin Tian waved his hand to dismiss them. The two Blood Clan stewardesses bowed courteously and respectfully retreated.
With a bang, the Sword Spirit landed on Lin Tian’s head, loudly protesting, "Kid, are you trying to burn me to death?"
Lin Tian withdrew the purple flame, grabbed the Sword Spirit and tossed it onto the safe, saying, "You were sleeping like a dead pig. If I didn’t do this, would you have woken up? Stop complaining, I have important matters to discuss with you."
"Important matters? What is it?" The Sword Spirit asked curiously, noticing Lin Tian’s uncharacteristic seriousness.
Lin Tian glanced at the Stone in the safe and said, "I plan to use it to craft a weapon, and I need your help."
"Using the transforming Stone to craft a weapon? That’s a good idea. As my body is the Sword of the King, indeed, I have some knowledge of weapon crafting, but why should I help you? If I help you, what’s in it for me?" The Sword Spirit bargained, and if it had facial features, Lin Tian was sure its eyes would be slyly rolling.
However, Lin Tian had long figured out the Sword Spirit’s temperament; as long as emotion and benefit are presented, it won’t refuse.
Lin Tian calmly smiled and said, "If the weapon is successfully crafted, I’ll let you inhabit it and allow you to regain a body."
"Really? Are you serious? You’re not lying to me?" The Sword Spirit got excited and suddenly bounced around, trying to jump onto Lin Tian’s head.
Lin Tian reached out and caught it in mid-air, once again throwing it onto the safe, but nodded affirmatively.
With Lin Tian’s affirmation, the Sword Spirit instead fell silent, rolling back and forth on the safe as if contemplating like a person pacing while thinking. It must be weighing the pros and cons.
Though the Sword Spirit’s thoughts are rather simple, simple doesn’t equate to foolish. It is assessing the risks and rewards. Its current state is an energy form, which is extremely precarious; with a strong external blow, it could be dispersed into oblivion.
But if it has a body, it’s akin to wearing armor, ensuring safety. At least before the body shatters, it needn’t fear its energy core breaking first.
However, it also knows should it inhabit Lin Tian’s newly crafted weapon, its current freedom won’t be the same. This thing still believes it’s free now and is merely in collaboration with Lin Tian.
Lin Tian seemed to see through its minute thoughts and smiled, "Rest assured, even if you inhabit the new body, you’ll still be free as you are now."
Actually, Lin Tian himself doesn’t believe this statement, as the Sword Spirit isn’t truly free at the moment. Of course, Lin Tian believes following him is the best choice for the Sword Spirit. After all, as a Sword Spirit, it always needs a master. He feels he isn’t inferior to the Sword Spirit’s former master, King Arthur.
"Fine, I agree," the Sword Spirit decided. Actually, ever since Lin Tian defied Houqing to save it, the Sword Spirit has acknowledged him, though it was unaware of this. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"Great, tell me, with transforming Stone to craft a weapon, what’s the first step?" Lin Tian asked, since the journey from material to the Sword of the King, its knowledge of crafting weapons is likely not less than that of a Caster.
The Sword Spirit circled the transforming Stone a few times before saying, "The first step is, of course, to continue gathering materials."
"Gathering materials? Can’t use the transforming Stone?" Lin Tian frowned slightly, he had singled out the transforming Stone for its properties, intending to create a weapon. If the Stone couldn’t be used, there would be no reason for him to craft a weapon.
"It’s not unusable, but it can only serve as an auxiliary material. The primary essence of a weapon is its attack power. The transforming Stone has transforming properties but doesn’t exhibit offensive traits. You need to find a central material and then add other secondary materials and the transforming Stone to forge the weapon’s core."
"This isn’t the end. After the core is formed, the weapon needs to be infused with energy. When King Arthur and the Great Mage forged the Sword of the King, they engraved a Spell Array on the blade, then placed it in a Spell Array for energy infusion. The infusion process also marks the qualitative transition of the weapon; it lasted a full year!" The Sword Spirit solemnly stated.
Feeling proverbial "one head, two big ones" Lin Tian was overwhelmed. Listening to the Sword Spirit’s explanation, his head felt heavy. He had naively thought that setting up a forge, preparing ingots, and wielding a hammer would suffice for weapon crafting. But the reality was far more complex than he imagined, thousandfold.
