Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 407: Wedding Hijack
The emcee initially didn’t understand what Victor Grant was saying and stood there dumbfounded, staring at him: "Mr. Grant, what did you say?"
Victor Grant impatiently explained to him again: "My wife isn’t feeling very well and can’t hold on for too long. Tell everyone else, let’s keep the wedding simple, that’ll do."
"Oh, oh, okay, okay." The emcee was perceptive; seeing the couple’s expressions were not good, he understood most of it. He quietly calculated in his mind, then took the microphone and announced to the attendees: "Today, first let us warmly celebrate the day of long-lasting union between Mr. Victor Grant and Miss May Morgan." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Once the emcee finished speaking, there was a burst of applause. When the applause subsided, the emcee quickly exchanged glances with Victor and promptly said, "Next, let’s have the couple exchange their wedding rings."
Immediately after, the etiquette lady came over holding their wedding rings. Victor didn’t care what people were saying below; he took the ring and was about to slide it on May’s finger. Other steps could be skipped, but this one could not; once the ring was on, she would be his woman for life. As long as he didn’t let go, she would never escape him.
In the instant the wedding ring was put on May’s finger, a weight in Victor’s heart finally settled. Seeing May unmoved, the emcee deliberately reminded her: "Next, let’s have the bride put the loving diamond ring on the groom."
May glanced down at the man’s ring on the tray, didn’t say a word, but cooperatively reached out to pick up the ring. As she lowered her hand to pull Victor’s finger, a sudden pang hit her heart, instinctively reminding her of Vincent.
Up to this point, Vincent’s hand was still bare, without a wedding ring. He had been married twice, yet each marriage was so troubled; thinking about it was really sad.
"Victor Grant, I can only tell you, my heart truly isn’t here with you. But if you insist on keeping me, I will comply."
As she helped Victor put on the diamond ring, May suddenly looked up at his face, asking him one last time.
Victor arrogantly turned his head away; he didn’t want to argue with her in front of everyone, but the hand he placed in her palm explained everything.
Seeing he wouldn’t turn back, May no longer tried to persuade, picked up the wedding ring, and gently slipped it onto his ring finger.
The emcee beside them was sweating coldly; these two had clearly just had a conflict. He was afraid of saying anything that might provoke Victor’s anger toward him.
"Alright, now let’s have those present use their warm applause to witness the marriage between Mr. Grant and Miss Morgan. Let’s wish them happiness forever."
These words were meant for the end of the ceremony, but Victor had requested everything to be simplified, so the emcee wanted to wrap things up quickly. The wedding was so simple, without any romantic atmosphere, leaving those below feeling perplexed.
With such wealth, it was unlikely the Grant Family would host such a modest wedding. It defied logic, didn’t it?
There was a murmur of sighs from below, none of them applauding. Just as everyone was dazed, a commotion arose at the entrance of the Grant Family villa.
The crowd turned to look and saw a car recklessly tearing into the venue, heading straight for the wedding scene.
Seeing a car barreling towards them, the crowd was terrified, screaming and scattering, as the car quickly reached May and Victor. Immediately, Vincent swiftly got out of the car.
"May, come with me!" Vincent, without another word after stepping out, grabbed May’s hand and tried to lead her into the car.
Victor furiously grabbed May’s hand, simultaneously swinging a punch at Vincent’s face: "Vincent, don’t push your luck!"
Vincent nimbly dodged Victor’s punch, quickly pulling May toward his car. Victor wouldn’t relent, immediately throwing another punch. This time, Vincent focused solely on protecting May, taking the punch from Victor, which split his lip open.
"Damn it, I promised May not to mess with you, but it doesn’t mean I’m easy to bully. Guys!" Victor shouted irritably to the bodyguards around him: "Drag this bastard down and beat him to death!"
As soon as Victor finished speaking, the bodyguards responsible for maintaining order swiftly gathered around. May, terrified, paled and shouted at Victor: "Victor Grant, what are you doing?"
"What am I doing? I’m killing him today!"
Victor had put up with Vincent for a long time, but as May kept blocking him from taking action, he held back. But now this idiot dared to crash his wedding; if he kept swallowing his anger, he’d really be looked down upon.
Victor had subordinates, but Vincent hadn’t come alone either. In an instant, seven or eight more cars sped in through the Grant Family’s main gate, driving right in front of Vincent, separating Victor’s men from Vincent and May.
"Young Master, are you alright?" Jacob Jennings quickly stepped down from the car, leading his men to confront Victor’s people.
Jacob brought no fewer than twenty bodyguards. The Grant Family’s bodyguards were slightly more, but still matched evenly; if a fight broke out, neither side would gain much.
The main issue was that this was the Grant Family villa, the wedding was Victor’s, and those present were Grant relatives and business friends. If a brawl erupted, it would definitely be embarrassing for the Grant Family.
Justin Grant, taking note of the situation, quickly approached from the side, sternly questioning Vincent: "Vincent, what do you intend to do by bringing so many people over?"
With Justin’s status and position, Vincent usually conceded a bit, but now things were different. He was here to reclaim his woman; no one could stop him.
"Mr. Grant, I’ll be frank with you, I’m here today to take May with me." Vincent answered Justin unwaveringly.
At hearing this, Victor was immediately enraged: "What do you take my Grant Family for, Vincent? I’m warning you not to push your luck!"
Justin held back his enraged son, trying to keep his tone neutral as he negotiated with Vincent: "You should see, today is my son’s wedding with May. They’ve previously registered their marriage in France, making them husband and wife. Your presence today is inappropriate on many levels."
Vincent felt somewhat ashamed due to Justin’s words, sighing: "I understand, but May has no feelings for Victor. Your son coerced her into marriage, which is unethical, so I hope you will be understanding and not put May in a difficult position."
