Chapter 365: Chapter 365: Do You Get Jealous?

May Morgan was fuming with anger at Victor Grant, gritting her teeth as she said, "That’s because you’re a playboy. I can’t control you, Eldest Young Master Grant, with your wealth and influence. There are plenty of women who want to climb into your bed. I can’t control them, nor can I handle them all."

"It’s not that you can’t handle it, it’s that you wouldn’t even get jealous, would you?" Victor Grant sneered, a wicked gleam suddenly appearing in his eyes: "If that’s the case, then I’ll go after your best friend. I wonder if you’ll feel anything when your best friend sleeps with me? Will it break your heart like when Vincent Vance and Brianna White were together?"

After saying this, Victor Grant turned and walked out. May Morgan was first stunned, then quickly stood up from the sofa and rushed over to him, "Victor Grant, just try touching Monica, and I won’t let you get away with it!"

Monica Lambert was May Morgan’s only good friend. She was simple and kind-hearted, and had never had a boyfriend. If Victor, that rogue, dared to violate Monica, May would kill him.

Victor Grant turned back, glared at May Morgan, then intentionally locked the room door behind him, trapping her inside, and strode downstairs.

The villa’s locks were top-notch, so even if May Morgan wanted to, she couldn’t just break out. But if she didn’t get out and Victor really did something to Monica, how could she face Monica and her family afterwards?

"Victor Grant, damn you, if you dare touch Monica, I’ll take your life!" May Morgan shouted in desperation, cursing Victor as inhuman while grabbing a chair to smash the door lock frantically.

But the lock was very sturdy, and despite May Morgan’s efforts, she only managed to slightly damage it.

When Victor Grant went downstairs, Monica Lambert was sitting on the sofa in the living room, sipping juice while playing on her phone. Her calm demeanor somewhat resembled May Morgan’s.

Miller saw Victor Grant coming down and quickly went over to ask, "Mr. Grant, inside...?"

Miller had gone up to deliver something earlier and heard the sounds of an argument. She knew the two of them were in another disagreement and, worried that May Morgan would suffer, hurried to check in.

Victor Grant glanced at Miller but said nothing, deliberately sitting across from Monica Lambert.

Monica Lambert sensed him sitting down and fearfully looked up at him, only to see his face looking terribly grim. Monica awkwardly asked, "Mr. Grant, is May Morgan alright?"

Victor Grant squinted his eyes, thinking of the quarrel with May Morgan earlier. He steeled his heart and decisively said to Monica Lambert, "Miss Lambert, I want to ask you for a favor."

Monica Lambert looked curiously at Victor Grant, confused, and asked, "What favor do you want to ask me?"

Victor Grant glanced up at the upstairs bedroom and, before May Morgan could get out, deliberately said to Monica Lambert, "I want to buy something for May Morgan, but I can’t decide what to get. Do you have time now? Can you go with me to the mall to pick something out?"

"Uh..." Monica Lambert felt that Victor Grant’s gaze was odd and hesitated, saying, "My taste isn’t that good, I might disappoint you."

Victor Grant’s lips moved slightly, a cold smile appearing at the corner of his mouth, "You won’t. You’re May Morgan’s best friend, you surely know what she likes."

Monica Lambert scratched her head, hesitated for a moment, then straightforwardly nodded, "Then, I’ll go with you? But, it won’t take long, right?"

"No, it won’t take long!" Seeing that Monica Lambert agreed, Victor Grant quickly stood up from the sofa, motioning for her to follow him.

As they were about to leave, Victor Grant deliberately instructed Miller, "May Morgan’s not feeling well and is resting. Don’t disturb her. I’ll open the door when I get back."

The doors in Victor Grant’s house had excellent soundproofing, especially the bedroom, which had been reinforced. No matter how May Morgan struggled inside, no sound could be heard outside. Hearing what Victor Grant said, Miller didn’t think much of it, nodded in agreement, and went off to do other things.

After coaxing Monica Lambert into the car, Victor Grant glanced back at the direction of the upstairs bedroom. He suddenly sighed heavily, the anger in his heart gradually subsiding.

He talked about deliberately flirting with her best friend to embarrass her, but Victor Grant knew very well. With May Morgan’s fiery temper, if he truly dared to do something to Monica Lambert, she’d probably stab him with a knife.

Moreover, he had no interest in other women at this point. Even if Monica Lambert stood naked in front of him, he wouldn’t want to touch her.

But May Morgan’s behavior earlier truly made him collapse. Her different treatment of him and Vincent Vance showed clearly that he didn’t exist in her heart.

If she truly cared, how could she just watch him approach other women and still speak so nonchalantly?

Monica Lambert felt a bit scared of Victor Grant. She didn’t know why, but from the first time she saw him, she instinctively feared this man.

Victor Grant turned to glance at Monica Lambert but saw her deliberately avoiding him. He couldn’t help but ask her, "Are you afraid of me?"

Monica Lambert was so frightened she quickly lowered her head, whispering, "No..."

Victor Grant sighed slightly, not wanting to make things harder for Monica Lambert, and continued driving. In fact, the number of women who feared him and those who tried to seduce him were about the same, owing to his status, his temper, and his position which meant these women were bound to circle around him.

But May Morgan was different from those people. She neither feared him nor flattered him. Sometimes, he couldn’t even feel his presence in her heart.

Thinking about these things, he instinctively felt vexed.

After aimlessly wandering around with Monica Lambert, Victor Grant did nothing and just sent her back home. Before leaving, Victor Grant suddenly, with a full face of sincerity, invited Monica Lambert, "Miss Lambert, you’re May Morgan’s best friend. On the day she gets married, could you come and be her bridesmaid?"

Almost all of May Morgan’s family was gone. On the wedding day, if there wasn’t even a bridesmaid, it would be very sad. Although she didn’t care, Victor Grant did. A wedding is a big deal for him, and he didn’t want there to be any blemishes, even a tiny one.

Monica Lambert hesitated, glancing at Victor Grant without daring to agree too firmly, "I’ll see. If there’s nothing major, I’ll come and help."

Victor Grant, looking genuinely sincere, said to her, "May Morgan is a pitiful girl. Her mother died early, and her father, well, this wedding really matters to me, it matters to all of us. If she doesn’t have a single family member by her side when she gets married, she’ll feel very alone."
