Chapter 322: Chapter 322: I Won’t Let You Go Back

Go back? What a joke, go back and wait to hand over the wife he worked so hard to get? Only if he’s lost his mind.

"You’re breaking your promise. You said you’d go back after getting the certificate," May was anxious seeing him going back on his word.

Victor Grant’s way of shamelessness is top-notch: "So what? If I didn’t say that, would you have obediently gone to get the certificate with me?"

"You bastard, you’re deceiving me into marriage!"

"So what? Go find a lawyer to sue me then? You don’t even speak English well, who can you find? Just stay at home, after a while, I’ll find someone to help you get rid of the Dragon Insect, then you’ll give me a child!"

"Get lost!" May was so angry at Victor Grant, without a word, she threw a pillow at his shameless face: "If you don’t let me go back, I’ll go on a hunger strike!"

Victor Grant grabbed the pillow she threw, and tossed it back at her: "No worries, go on your hunger strike, but I can tell you, on the day you die, I’ll personally shoot Vincent Vance, and let him go down to accompany you in the grave!"

"You bastard, don’t touch him!" May was frightened by Victor Grant’s threat to Vincent’s life and yelled immediately.

"I can leave him alone, but it depends on whether you cooperate or not!" Victor pinched May’s delicate chin and coldly threatened her.

May froze for a moment, stubbornly turned her head aside, and said nothing.

Victor let go of her and turned towards the door: "Whether you come down to eat or not is up to you, but I can tell you, if I’m in a good mood, maybe in a few days, I’ll take you back."

May stared blankly at the figure of him closing the door and leaving, hesitating for a long time. Thinking of the words Jacob Jennings had said to her, she couldn’t calm her heart.

No way, she must go back, even if she can’t stay by Vincent’s side, at least seeing he’s okay would be good.

Victor sat at the dining table, waited for May for half an hour, waited until the dishes were about to get cold, before he saw May slowly coming down.

Seeing her come down, Victor’s eyes darkened. The words said in the room were just angry talk. Unless absolutely necessary, he didn’t want to touch Vincent, but if May insists on going back to that man, then don’t blame him for being rude.

Seeing May obediently sitting down, Victor quickly got up to pour May a glass of red wine and graciously placed it in front of her: "Have some wine to celebrate, after all, today is our big day."

May glanced at him warily and didn’t move the red wine in front of her: "Alcohol leads to reckless actions!"

Victor almost died from anger at May’s words – alcohol leads to recklessness? Even if they did end up doing it, it’s no big deal, right? They are now husband and wife; isn’t it normal to do that?

"So you’re saying you don’t plan to give it to me?" Victor picked up the red wine and gulped it down fiercely.

May looked up at him, her fingers slightly clenched, and said softly: "I didn’t say I wouldn’t give it to you, but I’m not ready now."

"When will you be ready, give me a timeline." Victor poured himself another full glass and drank it down again.

Watching him drink so aggressively, May said fearfully: "Don’t drink so much, okay? What if you get drunk later?"

Victor snorted, and retorted to May: "Are you afraid I’ll lose control after drinking and touch you? Don’t worry, if I wanted to force myself on you, I would’ve had you upstairs just now."

The reason I didn’t touch you is because I still want to respect you, and don’t want our relationship to become irreversibly worse.

But, this doesn’t mean Victor Grant doesn’t have a temper.

May was somewhat embarrassed by his questioning, stubbornly turned her face away and softly said: "I didn’t think that way, it’s your problem."

"My problem? Okay, but you haven’t answered me yet. When will you willingly give it to me? I can’t marry a wife just to look at and not touch, can I?"

"You..." Victor’s lewd words made May’s cheeks turn red, and she glared at him rather displeased: "I didn’t say I wouldn’t give it to you, I said I need some time to adjust."

"Then after the big wedding, there are more than ten days, enough for you to consider!" Victor took a deep breath, looked up at the luxurious crystal chandelier above, and at the grand palace-like decorated house.

"You really give me headaches. I believe I have decent qualifications, there are countless women who want to marry me, they could circle Silverwood City, and I know those women truly admire my money, my family’s status, and the luxurious life after marriage. Although I despise such women, sometimes, I really hope you were like other girls—to admire those things about me, because at least this way, I would have a very fulfilling sense of satisfaction and even feel grounded, because I can provide for you within my capabilities."

Victor suddenly sighed dejectedly and looked at the woman across from him: "But what you want is just what’s pleasing to your heart, and what pleases you is not me. May, what should I do with you? What do I have to do to make you willing to look at me more? What do I have to do to make you willing to spend your life with me?"

Victor’s words inevitably caused May’s heart to ache sharply, she didn’t want to treat him this way either, but...

"I’m sorry, I know I’ve wronged you. I haven’t been wholehearted about this marriage; I’m sorry to you, sorry to your parents." May’s nose started to tingle, and she suddenly choked up: "I’m not necessarily going back to Vincent’s side, I just want to see him, as long as he’s okay, I’ll be at ease."

"You don’t have to lie to me, I understand your personality too well; once you go back, we’re finished." Victor shook his head and said stubbornly: "Don’t blame me for being ruthless, I really have no confidence in you anymore. When Vincent treated you that way before, you rejected me in every possible way, never accepting me, let alone now that he’s cleared himself. Do you think I’m stupid? I won’t let you two meet, never."

May unwillingly clenched her fist and argued with Victor: "I’ve married you according to your terms, what more do you want? Are you going to keep me locked up for life?"

"I won’t do that, but in the short term, I won’t let you leave. You should give up." Victor poured the remaining wine into his glass and drank it all, then he got up and left.

"Victor Grant, don’t make me hate you!" Seeing Victor about to go upstairs, May shouted furiously.
