Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 302: Overpowered Enemy, Uncertain Life or Death
Vincent’s expression sharpened, and he decisively instructed Jacob Jennings, "Go and restrain Logan."
He had long suspected Logan of being problematic, but had never found direct evidence. Now, seeing Logan so calm, he understood that everything had been orchestrated by Logan.
Jacob, upon hearing this, quickly scattered another handful of Fragrant Bone Wood powder over the Poisonous Insects, almost cleaning them up, then stepped forward to Logan, pointing his gun at Logan’s temple.
"Second Young Master, you’re so calm!" Jacob sneered, forcing Logan to stand up from his chair.
Logan, unfazed, slowly got up, glanced at Jacob’s gun, and asked, "What do you mean by this?"
"What do I mean? You know very well!" Vincent snorted, quickly stepped forward, and punched Logan in the face.
Logan had not expected Vincent to hit him suddenly; he spat out the blood from the corner of his mouth and looked up at Vincent, finally showing some emotion in his eyes.
"Vincent, what exactly do you want?" Logan asked sternly, his eyes cold.
At this moment, Arthur Vance also couldn’t remain seated, yelling at Vincent furiously, "Vincent, what are you doing? He’s your brother!"
"I know!" Vincent calmly waved his hand, and before long, a middle-aged man in a black suit with gold-rimmed glasses was dragged over and thrown to the ground.
Arthur looked at the man thrown at his feet, and said in astonishment, "Dr. Gallo, what is going on with you?"
Dr. Gallo was Arthur Vance’s private doctor, highly authoritative in the medical world, and Arthur trusted him deeply. All of Arthur’s ailments were diagnosed and treated by him.
Dr. Gallo, his face full of fear, looked up at Arthur and then at Vincent, knowing the inevitable had come, and quietly explained to Arthur, "Master, I deserve this. I shouldn’t have deceived you."
Upon hearing this, Arthur was stunned. Deception? What does that mean? Could it be that his health...
"Your health isn’t actually a problem. A year ago, the Second Young Master came to me and had me deceive you into taking a drug. After taking it, your health started to decline, with symptoms resembling terminal cancer. But in reality, it was all an illusion. Your body is robust, and there’s no need to worry about your health."
Dr. Gallo explained to Arthur in a trembling voice, "I did this because the Second Young Master bribed me. He gave me a lot of money, and being blinded by greed, I..."
"Scoundrel!" Before Dr. Gallo could finish explaining, Arthur kicked him to the ground in a fury. Glaring at his once-trusted private doctor, he gritted his teeth and said, "You, a world-renowned doctor, where is your medical ethics? You deserve to be shot!"
"Master, I know I deserve to die, but the mastermind is the Second Young Master! I just took his money. Besides, your body is perfectly healthy, and you can live another twenty or thirty years easily."
Dr. Gallo clung to Arthur’s leg, pleading desperately. Arthur despises deceit, fearing that this time, if Vincent doesn’t shoot him, he’d still be luckier.
Arthur kicked Dr. Gallo away and turned to Logan, sternly questioning him, "Is it you pulling all the strings behind the scenes?"
Logan glanced at him nonchalantly and responded with a sinister smile, "So what if it is? Doesn’t Grandpa want to live to a ripe old age? Even though your body is fine, humans have a lifespan. Even if you live another twenty years, you’ll still die, right? I was trying to find the Dragon Insect for you; was that wrong?"
Logan’s words left Arthur speechless. True, who doesn’t want to live a long life? Who doesn’t want to live forever? But...
Arthur, cunning and shrewd, noticed the odd situation around him and coldly laughed at Logan, "You bastard, it’s one thing to make a mistake, but to just argue? Just watch how I teach you a lesson today!"
Saying he was going to teach him a lesson, but without an army and only a few bodyguards who were all firmly controlled by Vincent’s men, his words were evidently for Vincent’s ears. After all, his fate was in Vincent’s hands now.
"Grandfather, no need to act. To deal with someone like him, I’ll handle it myself!" Vincent said at the opportune moment to Arthur.
Arthur, always cunning, feared halfway that he would help Logan escape, so he surely wanted to capture him personally.
Vincent signaled to Jacob Jennings, indicating to take control of Logan. Seeing this, Jacob quickly pulled out a pair of handcuffs and, seizing Logan’s wrists, locked him up.
Throughout the process, Logan didn’t move.
Looking down at the handcuffs on his wrists, the smile on Logan’s face grew even stranger, "Vincent, is this the result of your month’s preparation?"
Vincent was startled but just as he was about to speak, he suddenly heard an old woman’s hoarse laughter behind him.
He turned sharply to see that a cloud of black smoke had suddenly emerged from Melanie Morgan’s originally dried-up corpse not far away.
Within the smoke was a woman dressed in a black cloak, standing about five feet tall. Her entire face was obscured by the cloak, making it impossible to see her features.
But just from hearing her husky, somber voice, it was enough to make one’s blood freeze.
This was the woman they had been tirelessly searching for—the mysterious old woman!
Seeing the woman finally appear, Jacob quickly stepped in front of Vincent, shielding him with his sturdy body.
"Young Master, leave immediately!" Jacob wasn’t sure they could handle this woman; after all, her Poisonous Insect Technique was at an extraordinary level, and their only weapon against the Poisonous Insect was the Fragrant Bone Wood.
Vincent secretly gripped the amulet made of Fragrant Bone Wood from Mason Morgan, not intending to leave: "I’ll stand with you."
Jacob turned to look at Vincent, about to urge him again, but suddenly heard the mournful cries of bodyguards nearby.
Vincent and Jacob quickly turned their heads, seeing a bodyguard not far away suddenly being ensnared by vines at the edge of the wall, dangling in midair.
How could the vines move?
The vines, after wrapping around the bodyguard, suddenly pierced into his chest, immediately spraying blood into the air, exuding a strong bloody scent.
Seeing such a terrifying scene, everyone panicked, scrambling in all directions to escape.
But they hadn’t run far when those vines, as if truly alive, quickly spread everywhere, ensnaring anyone they encountered, striking them in vital spots.
Soon, nearly half of Vincent’s thirty-odd followers had been taken down by those vines, and the rest were almost all paralyzed by the horrifying scene before them, losing their basic ability to fight.
