Chapter 277: Chapter 277: What Do You Even Like About Me?

"Slap!" Before Brianna White could finish her triumphant words, May Morgan swung her hand and gave her a heavy slap, hitting so hard that Brianna White’s face swelled up immediately.

"You, you dare hit me?" Brianna White clutched her swollen face, angrily glaring at May Morgan as she yelled.

May Morgan sneered coldly and gave her another slap, this one even harder than before, distorting Brianna White’s once beautiful face.

That face of hers had been reattached, and though it seemed to have healed, it couldn’t withstand violent impacts. With May’s strength, two slaps were enough to distort her features.

Vincent Vance saw Brianna White’s face seemed somewhat deformed, and to prevent her from being exposed on the spot, he quickly grabbed May Morgan’s wrist and loudly reprimanded her, "What are you doing?"

May Morgan glared at Vincent with disgust and sharply shook off his hand, "Don’t touch me, you make me sick."

Embarrassed, Vincent glanced at her wrist but ultimately chose to remain silent. It seemed Brianna White also realized something was wrong with her face, and quickly lowered her head, covering her face, pretending to cry in grievance.

"Sweetheart, she hit me, it hurts so much!" Brianna White cried out to Vincent, trying hard to cover her face with her hands.

Vincent didn’t want to get tangled up with May Morgan any further, especially since Brianna White was having a sudden issue, and he needed to protect her from embarrassment.

"I have to go now, call me if you need anything," he sighed helplessly and pulled Brianna White toward his car without further entanglement with May Morgan.

Victor Grant was thrilled by May Morgan’s two slaps and quickly said to May Morgan with glee, "Feel better? If not, I can find someone to mess with that woman another time."

May Morgan turned to look at Victor Grant and suddenly laughed, "Sure, get your guys to bother her often. Even if I divorce Vincent Vance, I won’t let her have an easy time."

She had already avenged Maxwell Vance, but she clearly remembered the harm this woman had caused her.

She had promised that she would never let anyone who hurt her get away with it, absolutely not!

Vincent Vance helped Brianna White to the car, and just as they were about to get in, Brianna White seized the chance to look at her face in the side mirror. She found that her nose was crooked, her mouth was askew, and even her eyes were a bit asymmetric. Terrified, she slammed the passenger door shut.

Seeing Brianna White unwilling to get in the car, Vincent Vance sat in the driver’s seat and intentionally asked, "What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Brianna White didn’t dare tell Vincent the truth and could only stall, "I, I suddenly feel a bit unwell in my stomach and want to find a hospital."

Vincent knew why she was lying and went along with her, intentionally checking his watch, then apologetically said, "But I have a meeting this afternoon, why don’t you take a cab to the hospital?"

Brianna White wanted this exact thing, and upon hearing his words, she continuously nodded in agreement, "Sure, sure, go to the company. My issue isn’t serious, I’ll just catch a cab to the hospital."

Speaking, she dared not look up at Vincent’s face, fearing that he would be terrified if he saw her in this state. She quickly lowered her head and walked briskly to the roadside, pretending to hail a cab.

Vincent gave her a brief look and didn’t linger intentionally, quickly driving away.

Once Vincent left, Brianna White sighed in relief, and seeing no one around, quickly turned and headed to a nearby, less crowded public restroom.

Reaching the ladies’ room with some difficulty, Brianna quickly opened her bag, first taking a mirror to look at her face, finding it unbearably battered by May Morgan’s slaps, even she couldn’t bear to look at it. Then, she swiftly took a quaint necklace pendant from her chest.

The pendant was about the size of a silver dollar, made of silver, with a pattern of intertwined branches, and in the middle of the pattern, a small rice-grain-sized red jewel was embedded.

Brianna White gently pressed the red gemstone on the pendant, which automatically opened, and two worm-like creatures crawled out swiftly.

The worms seemed exceptionally familiar with Brianna White’s body; they quickly burrowed into her body and, through the bloodstream, slowly climbed to her face.

Soon, Brianna White’s deformed face was perfectly restored by the two worms, and seeing her perfectly mirrored face again, she couldn’t help but smile smugly at the corner of her mouth.

She was satisfied to release the worms from her body, putting them back into the pendant in her hand. With this thing, perpetual youth might not be just a dream, right?

Brianna White slowly stroked the pendant containing the worms, recalling what the old woman had told her, she couldn’t help but smile even more smugly.

After leaving the civil affairs bureau, May Morgan didn’t say a word the whole way, her expression somewhat blank. Victor Grant, afraid she’d overthink, kept trying to chat with her, but his words vanished like stones dropped into water, without even a ripple to show she’d heard. May seemed not to hear and couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge him.

It was thanks to Victor Grant’s thick skin and fearlessness of embarrassment; if it were anyone else, they’d probably be infuriated to silence by her indifferent attitude.

"What do you want to eat tonight? I’ll have someone make it for you. Our chef was snatched from another family by my mom. Let me tell you, last time my mom had dinner at a friend’s house, she liked their chef so much that she paid a fortune to buy him. She rarely uses him for herself, but I got him for you. Just think about it, my mom treats you even better than her own son, right? Maybe she suspects you’re her real daughter, and I’m the adopted one?"

Victor Grant couldn’t help but complain and joke, thinking of how differently his mom treated him compared to May Morgan. May Morgan was well aware of the many favors she’d received from Victor’s mom, but she couldn’t repay them by marrying her son, could she?

"I know Auntie treats me well..." May Morgan sighed slightly, finally uttering her only sentence since their journey began.

Seeing her speak, Victor Grant quickly seized the moment to add, "My mom just thinks you’re great, that’s why she’s nice to you, don’t feel pressured. She even told me, if you really don’t fancy me and are unwilling to marry me, you could just be her goddaughter, no pressure."

May Morgan glanced at Victor Grant but said nothing, just giving him a slightly strange look, which Victor also noticed. Embarrassed, he touched his face and asked May Morgan, "Is there something on my face?"

"Victor Grant, what is it you like about me?" After a long pause, May Morgan suddenly asked him.
