Chapter 276: Chapter 276: The Marriage, In the End, Ended in Divorce

Vincent Vance, trying to make the act convincing, reached out and touched Brianna White’s cheek, appearing unusually intimate, which made Victor Grant’s fury rise sharply, almost enough to punch this heartless man, Vincent, in the face.

"Why rush? I promised you; nothing will be missing." Vincent smiled as he comforted Brianna, deliberately glancing at the diamond ring on her hand, seemingly intending to provoke May Morgan further: "Last night you said you wanted this Star of Extreme Night, didn’t I give it to you casually? Whatever you want, later I’ll drive you to buy it."

Brianna, seeing it, quickly tiptoed with joy and planted a kiss on Vincent’s face, her lips as sweet as honey: "Thank you, darling, tonight I’ll reward you well."

Their utterly disorienting conversation made Victor feel like hitting someone, while May remained completely unresponsive, almost as if she were deaf.

Vincent glanced at May out of the corner of his eye and saw that although she didn’t react, something was clearly shimmering in her lowered eyes.

He knew she was crying, for him; she was desperately suppressing the grievances in her heart, but he could only let her cry because only through her tears would she despair of him, leave Victor, and depart Silverwood City.

Victor simply couldn’t stand it anymore, so he shouted at Vincent in frustration, "Vincent, don’t go too far. We’ve known each other for a while; acting like this only shows how classless you are."

Brianna couldn’t help but yell back at Victor, "Classy? Victor, don’t tell me you’re some kind of nice guy. When you used to toy with women, did you ever show mercy?"

Victor despised Brianna’s type most of all, filled with anger he rolled up his sleeves, intending to drag this wench Brianna outside and give her a beating: "You wench, dare say it again? See if I don’t smash that bitch face of yours!"

Seeing Victor truly about to resort to violence, Vincent quickly shielded Brianna beneath him, forcefully, "Victor, Brianna is my woman now, lay a finger on her and see if I reward you with courtesy!"

Victor wasn’t backing down, just as he was about to face off with Vincent when May suddenly pulled him back sharply, whispering to him, "I told you not to stir trouble. If you keep this up, then you should leave first!"

Victor had a soft spot for May; no matter how furious he was, as soon as May spoke, he’d immediately back down: "Alright alright, from now on, I won’t say a word, okay?"

Victor was helpless watching May be bullied by Vincent like this, but she didn’t want to cause trouble; what could he do?

After a brief entanglement, they arrived at the office of the director where the necessary procedures were ready, just needing the two of them to take a photo, sign a paper, with the stamp in place, and it would be done.

While taking the photo, May sat beside Vincent, still expressionless, Vincent turned to glance at her, reminded of similar scenes from before, his vision suddenly starting to blur.

"Remember the last time we took the marriage certificate photo, you never smiled, so we took many shots..."

Vincent gazed at May’s face enticing his soul, suddenly whispering wistfully.

May listened, letting out a bitter laugh: "That’s because I never willingly consented, but now, finally, I can be liberated."

When she uttered "liberated," May intentionally kept coldly laughing, making Vincent’s heart especially uncomfortable, yet his throat felt blocked, unable to utter a word.

Quite a while passed before he sighed faintly: "Yes, you’re liberated, take good care with Victor; he’ll treat you well."

"That’s none of your business, whoever I find in the future has nothing to do with you." May bit her lip, forcing herself to curse Vincent: "Vincent, you’re indirectly responsible for my child’s death; from now on, I’ll wish you a lifetime of barren descendants!"

The words were extremely venomous, yet Vincent couldn’t utter a single word in rebuttal because, no matter how cruel May’s curse, ultimately, it was a debt he owed her.

"Let’s take the photo..."

After a considerable pause, Vincent finally said helplessly.

There was truly nothing to say to May, their meetings were hostile, and speaking only meant encountering May’s eyes full of hatred for him; every word spoken was like a steel knife cutting into his flesh, making him unbearably pained, and continuing this way, Vincent feared he might not withstand it.

Therefore, the best approach was to let one person be liberated first.

The photo was quickly taken, and the signing proceeded smoothly. When the stamp was affixed, the staff handed each of Vincent and May a divorce certificate.

May glanced at the divorce certificate in her hand and turned to throw it into the trash bin. Seeing this, the staff immediately stopped her, saying: "The divorce certificate can’t be thrown away, if one day you two wish to remarry, you’ll need it, or it’ll be quite troublesome."

Remarry?

May found this the most laughable word she had ever heard, remarry? Even if she died, there was no way she’d remarry this bastard before her.

Without a word, May turned back to the trash bin, bent over and retrieved the divorce certificate; just as Vincent was stunned thinking she might be reluctant about their past, May, instead, tore the divorce certificate in half.

Maybe ripping it in half didn’t vent her anger enough, May simply shredded the divorce certificate bit by bit into pieces.

At the moment she threw the heap of fragments into the trash bin, May’s smile was resolute and fierce.

"I, May Morgan, swear here and now, if in this life I have any entanglement with Vincent Vance again, may I die horribly!"

Upon hearing this, not only Vincent but even Victor was shocked, staring wide-eyed, unable to return to his senses for a long time.

He knew May held hatred for Vincent, but he never imagined May’s stubbornness and determination had reached such an astonishing extent.

Such a venomous oath, even one who doesn’t believe in spirits and gods would dare not swear lightly, right?

Brianna was amused, turning to lay a hand on Vincent’s shoulder, acting coquettishly: "Darling, that woman’s personality is indeed fierce; fortunately, you divorced her, or you’d suffer in the future."

Having said that, she deliberately fiddled with the ridiculously large diamond ring on her ring finger, muttering while doing so: "Women should behave like women, no one can bear seeing a sour face all day; if you’ve ruined your marriage, don’t blame others for taking advantage!"

Originally, May didn’t want to argue with anyone on this trip, but Brianna continually provoked her verbally, which May couldn’t tolerate. After all, the divorce was done, all proceedings completed; now, naturally, it was time to give the wench a piece of her mind.
