Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 262: Adam Owens, Can We Meet?
Vincent Vance held his phone, staring at those heart-piercing words that were sent to him, feeling as if his heart was being sliced with a knife. Why didn’t he sign? Of course, it was because he couldn’t bear to let her go. Why didn’t he sign? Because he feared that once he signed, she would never come back.
"I’m very busy right now, I don’t have time for this. Let’s talk about it later." Vincent could only use such words to brush May Morgan off.
May chuckled coldly and decisively said, "You’re busy, I’m not. I’ll come find you. It’s just signing a paper and going to the civil affairs bureau to handle the divorce. It won’t take much of your time."
"Why are you in such a hurry to divorce me? Is it that urgent to marry Victor Grant?"
Recalling the things Victor Grant said in the meeting room, Vincent couldn’t help but ask.
"So what if it is? Vincent, I’ve told you before, just because you don’t want me doesn’t mean I’m worthless. I’ll show you, not only do I have someone who wants me, but many men are fighting over me."
"Oh, really? Since you’re so confident, all the more reason I won’t let you have your way. Sorry, but I won’t sign this divorce agreement." Though he knew May’s words were just out of anger, Vincent stubbornly said the same.
"Fine, that’s what you said. I’ll make you come to me to sign it yourself!" Seeing Vincent wouldn’t budge, May was also anxious and resolutely typed these threatening words.
After the talk with Vincent fell through, May angrily held her phone, thinking of a plan. She slowly pulled up Adam Owens’ number, thought for a while, and then called him.
Maxwell Vance had already been sent back to the Owens Family by Vincent. Although she and Adam were still like water and fire, in the end, for the sake of the child, Adam did not say anything about kicking Maxwell out again.
In the past few days, with the help of his aunt, Maxwell had been trying his best to curry favor with Adam, bringing food when hungry, drinks when thirsty, showing concern for his well-being; as gentle as he could be. Adam, after all, was young and easily tempted, gradually stopped being so resistant towards Maxwell.
Regarding May and Vincent’s matters, Adam knew a bit, but he didn’t have Victor Grant’s number. Wanting to confront Vincent, he felt he had no justifiable reason, so he just gave up in the end.
Even so, to Adam, May was like the cinnabar mole on his heart, always lingering in his mind, that much was true.
Now that May took the initiative to call Adam, Adam’s heart was simply too excited.
"May, is it really you? How have you been recently? I wanted to see you, but I couldn’t find out Victor Grant’s address. How’s your life with him? You should’ve called me back then, I would’ve taken better care of you than Victor Grant."
Hearing Adam’s words, May just gave a soft smile. Adam’s words were true, but she never thought of calling him. Simply put, the one who ruined her was Maxwell, and although Maxwell wasn’t favored by Adam, she was pregnant with Adam’s child. As such, Adam would never really abort Maxwell’s child for May’s sake.
But now, May wanted Maxwell to taste the pain of having the man she loved personally abort her child.
So, she contacted Adam.
"Adam, I thought you wouldn’t stand up for me. I had no other choice but to call Victor Grant. It was Maxwell who killed my child, and you’re Maxwell’s husband. If I asked you for help, your aunt and the others wouldn’t agree."
Saying this, May dropped two tearful drops of grievance, instantly softening Adam’s heart.
"That woman Maxwell, I’ve already taught her a lesson. Don’t worry, she won’t dare do anything to you again. I’m here."
This was something May had heard from Vincent’s mouth before. Yes, one was Maxwell’s kin, the other was the father of the child in Maxwell’s belly. Blood is thicker than water, after all, more so than an outsider like her.
"I’ve recovered well now. Thinking back, it wasn’t really Maxwell’s fault. I was too aggressive back then, forcing her to poison me. It was my fault, I can’t blame her."
To leave a weak impression on Adam, May could only force herself to play the role of a white lotus, as she was too aware of men’s nature, knowing that the white lotus was always a straight man’s weapon of choice.
"May, where are you now? Can I come to see you? I want to meet you." Unable to let go of May, Adam hesitantly asked.
"Sure, but I’m currently staying with Victor Grant, so it’s not very convenient. How about we set a place to meet?"
"Okay, where would you like to meet? I’ll head over right now." Adam’s voice on the phone was filled with excitement.
Pretending to think for a moment, May then said emotionally, "I still remember how you used to take me to that tea shop near school for milk tea every time after school. It’s been ages since I had the milk tea from there. Let’s meet there, shall we?"
"Sure, see you there." After arranging a location with May, Adam excitedly agreed. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
After hanging up Adam’s call, May began rummaging through her closet for clothes. Miller opened the door to find her rummaging through her wardrobe and quickly came over to help, saying: "Miss Morgan, what are you up to now?"
Previously Vincent had all of May’s clothes sent over, but these weren’t the clothes May wanted. She looked at the large box of clothes that only Vincent liked to see her in and shook her head.
"Miller, do you remember the box I left at Zenith Villa?" May recalled that before marrying Vincent, she liked wearing modest school uniforms, so that big box was nearly filled with such outfits. Vincent and Adam had different tastes. Adam liked to see May in the pure look of school uniforms, but Vincent preferred her dressed as a charming young wife.
This time she was going to meet Adam, she had to increase his affection and nostalgia for her by dressing as she used to.
Miller remembered that Zenith Villa did send over a big box earlier, but because it was old and didn’t look valuable, she had left it in the first-floor storage room and hadn’t brought it out.
"I do remember, there was such a big box. At that time, the servants from Zenith specifically mentioned that Young Master Vance had instructed not to throw it away as it contained your old belongings. I found it a bit worn-out, so I didn’t bring it upstairs; it’s in the first-floor storage room."
Upon hearing this, May said nothing further, quickly turned around, and headed to the first floor. She opened the storage room and immediately spotted the big box from her school days. Gazing at her only old possession, May’s thoughts instantly drifted back five years to when she first met Adam.
After following her downstairs, Miller saw May staring at the big box in a daze and immediately inquired: "Miss Morgan, does this contain some very important things for you?"
May quickly pulled her thoughts back and smiled at Miller, saying: "Yes, many of my important things are in here."
