Chapter 252: Chapter 252: Victor Grant Truly Cares About You

He never imagined that one day he would care about a woman so much that he would have to think carefully about whether he was respecting her enough before speaking.

Yet, even with such caution, he found it incredibly sweet.

"I have the Dragon Insect on me, aren’t you scared?" May Morgan lowered her eyes, gazing at Victor Grant’s hand around her waist, her voice unusually calm.

Victor Grant wasn’t the type to worry about such things. He was fearless; he wasn’t afraid of anything, let alone that May simply had the Dragon Insect, which made her exceptionally strong. Even if she were a fairy or a demon, he wouldn’t fear.

If you love, you love. If you truly care but still hesitate, then it’s not enough love!

Victor Grant called Miller overnight, and after getting her nod, he quickly arranged for her to be brought back from her hometown specifically to take care of May.

In fact, Miller had almost given up hope on her job with the Vance family, but with one word from May, she immediately secured a position with over ten thousand monthly salary. Moreover, compared to working for the Vance family, it was clearly much freer to work at Victor Grant’s villa.

Miller knew that May liked to eat Ten Treasure Porridge, so she stopped by the supermarket midway to buy many grains and started cooking as soon as she got home.

In no time, the fragrant Ten Treasure Porridge was ready. The porridge she made was very authentic, with a much richer medicinal aroma than those sold outside. Even Victor Grant felt tempted by the smell.

"Miller, this porridge you made tastes really delicious. No wonder May insisted I hire you," Victor Grant said, standing at the door, waiting for Miller’s porridge to be done so he could carry it up to May.

Miller had seen Victor Grant a few times before at Zenith Villa, especially during the night when Arthur Vance’s people raided the villa. If it weren’t for him, the young madam would have been taken away already.

So she had a fairly good impression of Victor Grant. Especially with how Vincent is treating May now, she was all the more eager for May to be with Victor Grant.

"Mr. Grant, you are too kind. If you really like my porridge, I can serve you a bowl once I’m done," Miller said to Victor Grant with a smile.

Victor Grant scratched his head a bit embarrassedly and politely responded to Miller, ’This porridge is specially made for May, wouldn’t it be inappropriate for me to eat it?’

The more Miller heard Victor Grant speak like this, the more she liked the man. Although he looked rugged on the outside, his heart was indeed quite delicate.

"It’s alright, I can cook more later."

As they spoke, Miller placed the finished porridge into an exquisite porcelain bowl. Victor Grant eagerly stepped forward to carry the porridge upstairs, saying, ’May must be starving. I’ll take this up to her right away.’

As Miller watched Victor Grant hurriedly grab the bowl and head upstairs, the smile on her face grew even wider.

Victor Grant put the Ten Treasure Porridge on the table next to May. Seeing she was still resting, he didn’t want to disturb her, so he sat aside, thinking May might not wake up for a while. To prevent the porridge from getting cold and upsetting her stomach when she ate it, he decided to warm it with his hands.

Miller opened the door and came in, seeing Victor Grant touching his ear with one hand while warming the porridge bowl with the other, his face visibly contorting from the heat, yet not daring to make a sound, seemingly afraid to wake May.

"Mr. Gu, what are you doing?" Miller said softly, walking up to Victor Grant with some compassion.

Victor Grant immediately signaled her to keep quiet, pointing at May on the bed, indicating not to wake her since she finally fell asleep.

However, May was a light sleeper, and despite Miller’s attempts to be quiet, her voice still stirred May awake. She turned to look at Victor Grant and Miller.

When Victor Grant brought Miller back, May had just fallen asleep, so she didn’t know Miller had arrived at the villa. Hence, seeing Miller’s face suddenly left her a bit confused.

Miller, noticing May’s puzzled look, smiled and greeted her, "You’re awake, Young Madam?"

While saying the words "Young Madam," Miller suddenly felt a bit inappropriate and quickly corrected, ’Miss Morgan, you must be hungry? I made your favorite Ten Treasure Porridge, have some.’

Upon hearing this, Victor Grant quickly lifted the porcelain bowl in his hands and placed it in front of May, as though presenting a treasured item.

Seeing his clumsy manner, Miller, realizing he wasn’t the kind to serve people, kindly extended her hand to take the bowl from Victor Grant to feed May.

Victor Grant, startled, quickly glared at her and asked, ’What are you doing?’

"Why don’t I feed Miss Morgan? Mr. Grant, weren’t you hungry too? Why not go down and eat something before coming back?" Miller kindly suggested to Victor Grant.

But Victor Grant stubbornly turned his hand, avoiding Miller’s outstretched hand, then picked up a spoon and served some porridge, wanting to feed May himself, "I’ll make sure May is full first."

May, embarrassed to be fed by him, gave Miller continuous glances for help. Seeing this, Miller intentionally slapped her thigh in a gesture of regret and said, ’Oops, I think I forgot to add sugar.’

"Really? How can you drink Ten Treasure Porridge without sugar?" May followed Miller’s cue quickly.

Hearing this, Victor Grant put down the porridge bowl and selflessly declared, ’I’ll go and see if we have any sugar.’

"No need to search; there’s none, I just checked the kitchen earlier," said Miller, looking at Victor Grant helplessly.

Fortunately, there was a supermarket not far from the villa. After thinking for a bit, Victor Grant told Miller, "You stay and look after May; I’ll drive to the supermarket to buy some sugar."

After a brief word to Miller, Victor Grant quickly ran downstairs, hurried to get his car, and dashed out to buy sugar.

In reality, May could eat the Ten Treasure Porridge whether or not it had sugar; she just sent Victor Grant away to avoid any awkwardness.

Seeing Victor Grant gone, Miller quickly grabbed the porridge bowl, intending to feed May. But May, too shy to be fed, took the bowl to eat herself. ’Thank you, Miller, I really didn’t expect you to be here.’

Miller gratefully glanced at May, sighing, ’I should be the one thanking you. I thought I’d lost this job permanently, but just a day later, Miss Morgan, you found me one that’s easier and pays even better.’

Miller said, turning her head to gaze out the window, then sincerely said to May, ’Since your fate with the Young Master has ended, don’t be too sad. You’re so young; you’ll surely find someone more suitable. I think this Victor Grant is quite good; he truly cares about you.’

Elderly eyes are sharp; they can easily tell if Victor Grant genuinely cares for May. Although no one can guarantee what the future holds, for now, Victor Grant’s care for May is unmistakable.
