Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 217: Face Swap
"Daughter, look, everyone in the car has passed out. How about mom takes you and we escape? Once we run away, everything will be fine!" Melody White cunningly grabbed Melanie Morgan’s wrist, turned around to leave, but just as she spun around, she saw a woman in a black cloak outside the car, staring at them coldly.
The woman made no sound, still wearing the black cloak, hidden in the darkness. If Melody White hadn’t turned around, she wouldn’t have sensed her presence at all.
"Who, who are you?" Melody White asked in surprise, looking at the old woman whose face was hidden.
The woman ignored her, only sneering to remind Melanie Morgan: "In two minutes, your face will be completely ruined."
Hearing the old woman’s words, a flash of coldness suddenly appeared in Melanie Morgan’s eyes. She grabbed her mother’s hand tightly, pulling her back.
"Mom, I’m sorry, but I will make it up to you in the future!" Melanie Morgan, after grabbing her mother, suddenly squeezed her neck, making her unable to move.
Melody White looked despairingly at her daughter, who seemed like a ghost, and reached out to grasp aimlessly: "Why...?"
Melanie Morgan gritted her teeth and revealed the truth: "Only by taking your face can I escape the police pursuit and start over. Mom, didn’t you love me the most? Then give me your face, okay?"
"No, no!" Melody White finally understood the madness behind Melanie Morgan’s actions and struggled violently on the spot.
Seeing her begin to struggle, a savage glint appeared in Melanie Morgan’s eyes, and the hand squeezing her mother’s neck tightened uncontrollably.
Melody White felt breathing become more and more difficult. She wanted to pry open Melanie Morgan’s hand from her neck, but her strength diminished until she completely lost the ability to resist.
"It’s done! She’s already dead!" The woman beside them saw that Melanie Morgan had strangled her own mother and hurriedly intervened to stop her.
These words, like a bolt from the blue, caused Melanie Morgan, who had been in despair, to suddenly deflate.
She abruptly released her grip and looked at her mother below, whose eyes were wide open in death, her face ashen. Melanie Morgan suddenly cried out in despair.
"Mom, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to, I didn’t mean to..." Melanie Morgan, as if drained of all strength, slumped onto the seat next to her, crying uncontrollably.
The old woman, however, calmly advised her, "It’s better this way. With her taking the blame for you, you can still be a free person from now on!"
Melanie Morgan suddenly raised her head to look at the woman, not understanding what she meant. However, she saw the old woman slowly extending her hand, releasing two wriggling insects from her palm. The insects, sensing the presence of death, quickly crawled onto Melody White’s face and burrowed into her skin.
A little over a minute later, Melody White’s facial skin was peeled off intact. The woman picked up Melody White’s face and asked Melanie Morgan, "Will you switch?"
At this point, did Melanie Morgan have any reason not to? She gritted her teeth and forced herself to nod, "Switch!"
As soon as she spoke, the woman sprinkled some white powder onto the freshly removed face, then carefully placed it onto Melanie Morgan’s face. Melanie Morgan felt an unbearable itch on her face. She wanted to scratch it, but the old woman sternly stopped her.
"Don’t move, or you’ll ruin it!"
The old woman’s sharp yell scared Melanie Morgan into retracting her hand once more, but the itch on her face felt as if it were gnawing at her very bones. She felt a pain so intense that she fell to the ground, screaming.
This agony lasted for about a minute, and only then did the prickling sensation on Melanie Morgan’s face gradually subside.
Once she felt the itch lessening, she slowly reached out to touch her face, realizing that her skin had completely healed.
She wonderingly touched the areas near her ears and jawline, amazed to find no trace of seams.
"My face..." Melanie Morgan stood up from the grass in astonishment and asked the old woman.
The old woman let out a sinister laugh, pointing to the car’s side mirror, signaling Melanie Morgan to check for herself.
Melanie Morgan nervously rushed over to look at the side mirror and, sure enough, saw her mother’s face staring back at her in the reflection.
It turned out that the so-called skin swap was really just that—a skin swap—and now Melanie Morgan wore her mother’s face...
Melanie Morgan felt a bit disappointed as she pulled away from the side mirror, turning to glance at the woman: "Will I have to be like this forever?"
The old woman sensed Melanie Morgan’s dissatisfaction and deliberately tempted her, "If you want a younger face, it’s possible."
"What should I do?" Upon hearing this, Melanie Morgan eagerly asked with shining eyes.
The old woman didn’t address her directly, instead turning to pick up Melanie Morgan’s discarded face from next to Melody White, sprinkling some powder on it, and reattaching Melanie Morgan’s face to Melody White’s.
Since Melody White was dead, even the powder couldn’t fully integrate Melanie Morgan’s face back onto hers. Thus, the old woman released the two worms from her palm once more, placing them on Melody White’s face. After several rounds of restoration, the face miraculously healed too.
"Now your mother is you, and you are free," the woman indicated to Melanie Morgan to swap clothes with Melody White. After completing everything, Melanie Morgan felt a lot more settled.
Despite her inner conflict over killing her mother, as long as she thought about her newfound freedom and the new face that allowed her to go out, she felt reborn. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
As Melanie Morgan turned to follow the old woman away from the scene, she couldn’t resist taking one last look at her mother’s body, quietly saying, "Mom, I’m sorry. Once I’m free, I’ll definitely burn more paper money for you."
Once the old woman led Melanie Morgan into the nearby woods, she reached out and offered her two worms again.
Melanie Morgan felt a natural fear of the worms, and when she saw them offered to her, she quickly recoiled. The old woman saw this and coldly said, "If you want to live with this old face forever, just go."
"I..." Melanie Morgan hesitantly touched her own face. In truth, although her face swapping was successful, she certainly didn’t want to wear her mother’s face for the rest of her life.
Just thinking of how every time she looked in the mirror, she would remember her mother dying at her hands, she couldn’t accept it.
"If you don’t want that, take my Poisonous Insect!" The old woman knew Melanie Morgan wouldn’t be content as she was, so she once again offered the worms to her, tempting her.
