Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 194: Don’t Be So Serious, I’m Not Used to It
"Sister, where are we going to eat later?" Today, Victor Grant wore something more formal than his usual casual jacket. Compared to before, he looked a lot more serious today.
May Morgan had never seen him dressed so impeccably and was a little unaccustomed to it, unwittingly casting several glances his way.
Seeing her constantly looking at him with a surprised expression, Victor felt a bit embarrassed, lowered his head to check his outfit, and very concernedly asked May for her opinion: "What? Doesn’t this look good?"
May scratched her head awkwardly, realizing she was being abrupt, and quickly smiled while explaining to him, "No, it’s just that I’ve never seen you in a suit before."
After speaking, May couldn’t help but look up at him again, sincerely saying, "You look quite imposing in this."
"Really? Then I’ll dress like this all the time." Receiving May’s affirmation, a glint of excitement flashed in Victor’s eyes, but his face showed some unnatural emotions when looking at May again.
May promptly coughed in embarrassment and asked Victor in a low voice, "Seriously, do you have any way to get me out?"
"Of course, there are plenty of ways." Victor smiled, extending his hand to May, gesturing for her to follow him.
May glanced at his outstretched hand but didn’t dare place her hand in his. The gesture was too ambiguous, and she was married now, she couldn’t mess around.
Besides, Victor’s gaze right now really had a bit of an ambiguous feel.
May got up from the sofa by herself and cautiously followed behind Victor. Just as they reached the door, two bodyguards extended their arms to block her, signaling May not to step outside.
"Young Madam, the Young Master hasn’t said you can leave."
"Damn, this is naked house arrest, get lost!" Victor twisted his somewhat stiff neck, and couldn’t help but clench his fist until it cracked, looking like he was about to fight these two bodyguards.
If May had known that Victor’s method to get her out was to fight with the house bodyguards, she would have preferred not to ask him over. If this idiot actually started fighting the house bodyguards, Vincent would do more than just tighten her confinement.
"What are you doing?" Seeing Victor’s fist about to strike, May was so scared that she quickly reached out to pull him back.
Victor turned his head to glance at May, who was staring sternly at him, then laughed mischievously, "Just kidding, you really think I’m that brainless?"
"Then what are you doing?" Angrily, May glared at Victor’s stance with clenched fists, unable to help scolding him.
"Don’t worry, I won’t have a direct confrontation with your house bodyguards." Saying this, Victor withdrew his hands, then in front of the two bodyguards, called Vincent.
"Vincent, that bitch Melanie said she wants to see your wife, there’s something important to discuss. I’m taking her out for a bit, alright? I’ll have her back in two hours at the latest!"
As Victor spoke on the phone with Vincent, he gestured to May to follow him out.
May stood there in a daze, feeling something was off. How could Vincent agree so quickly? Could this be fake?
Victor had already headed outside, and seeing May still standing dumbly at the door without moving, he purposely shouted at her, "What are you still standing around for? Your husband only gave me two hours, if we’re late, I can’t explain it to him!"
Seeing Victor speak so convincingly, May didn’t hesitate any longer and decisively followed him out of the villa. The whole action was seamless and before the two bodyguards reacted, May was already in Victor’s car, driving far away.
"Did you really talk it out with Vincent?" On the road, May couldn’t help but ask Victor, confused.
Victor chuckled, asking May back, "How was it? Didn’t your brother’s acting skills impress you?"
Just as I thought...
May rolled her eyes, disdainfully saying to Victor, "This method is too outdated, isn’t it?"
"It’s outdated, but it works. If you’ve got a better way, why couldn’t you get out? Still had to ask me to help?" Victor glanced sideways at May, relentlessly exposing her.
May, having been seen through by Victor, awkwardly tried to explain, "I, uh, I sincerely wanted to invite you for a meal, okay?"
"Is that so? Then what are you inviting me to eat?" Victor intentionally looked at May with an expectant face, asking.
"How about a bowl of noodles?" May smiled sheepishly, embarrassed.
It’s not that she’s stingy, but she didn’t have much cash on her, plus the card had been taken back by Vincent. He reasoned it was unnecessary, claiming she could just make a list of things she wanted for the house bodyguard to buy. In reality, he completely blocked her off, trying to trap her entirely within Zenith Villa.
"You’re really stingy!" Victor rolled his eyes, unable to refrain from complaining about her.
May scratched her head, just about to explain when Victor suddenly said, "Fine, you can invite me for noodles, but I want the noodles you cook yourself."
May angrily glared at Victor, protesting, "You wish! I haven’t even cooked noodles for my husband, alright?"
"That’s even better. Otherwise, think about it, which bowl of noodles is worth a million? Want me to take you to eat?" Victor proudly smiled, deliberately challenging May.
May, in need of his help, didn’t want to fall out with Victor too hard, so she had to placate him first, "That’s fine, but I need to go to the hospital first."
Victor thought May was really going to the hospital to see Melanie, and couldn’t help but kindly advise her, "Why would you bother seeing that woman? Just send her to the police and let them handle it."
May couldn’t tell Victor the real reason she needed to go to the hospital, so she just smiled faintly, not continuing the topic with him.
Seeing her silent, Victor knew she was determined to go, so he didn’t say more and directly drove to the hospital where Melanie was.
Unexpectedly, after reaching the hospital, May didn’t go to see Melanie. Instead, she went straight to the obstetrics and gynecology department to register.
It was Victor’s first time in such a place, and seeing the line of pregnant women, he curiously asked, "W-What are you doing here?"
It had come to this point, and May had no choice but to awkwardly explain to Victor, "Well, since I’m pregnant, and I haven’t had any prenatal check-ups yet, I wanted to take this opportunity to see if the baby is healthy."
She didn’t dare let Vincent come, intending to see for herself first, just in case there was something wrong with the baby, like if it was abnormal, so she could prepare early.
Seeing most of the pregnant women waiting for check-ups accompanied by their husbands, Victor couldn’t help but feel bad for May, saying, "Vincent is such a jerk, isn’t he? How can he let you come alone for such an important matter as a prenatal check-up?"
"No, no, he wanted to come with me, but I wanted to see for myself first..."
