Chapter 187: Chapter 187: Blood for Blood

Seeing May Morgan crush the snake as thick as a finger into pieces, Melanie Morgan’s face turned pale from fear and she no longer dared to do anything to May, she just trembled and shouted at her.

May Morgan let out a cold laugh, suddenly stretched out her bloodied right hand, and grabbed Melanie by the neck, squeezing it until her bones creaked.

"Thanks to you, I now want to kill you as easily as crushing an ant!"

May Morgan exerted all her strength, fiercely squeezing Melanie’s neck, lifting her up high, and then throwing her to the ground.

The force of May’s throw was so great that Melanie spat blood when she hit the ground. Unwilling to concede, she tried to get up to attack May again, but before she could raise her hand, May stamped it down with a foot.

Remembering the pain of her hand being ground by the pointed high heels, May stamped hard on Melanie’s hand, deliberately grinding it fiercely on the ground, wishing she had worn high heels usually so she could make Melanie taste the same.

"Does it hurt? It should hurt. The way you treated me, today I want you to pay it back bit by bit!" May ground Melanie’s hand vigorously, while leaning down to look at the ring on Melanie’s hand, then bent down and took it off.

This ring was the one Melanie used to control the Poisonous Insect; its appearance was very ancient, with patterns of harmful creatures all over, showing its evil nature.

"Did you think you could defeat me with this thing? Such naive arrogance!" May scoffed, clutching the ring, wanting to destroy it, but she didn’t know what material it was made of for it wouldn’t deform even though she tried with all her might to crush it.

Recalling the scene when Melanie used the ring to cast the spell on the Poisonous Insect, May suddenly found it hard to destroy the ring. If Melanie could use it to control insects, maybe she could find a way to undo the Dragon Insect’s curse from it?

Thinking it over, May simply pocketed the ring, planning to take it back for a thorough study.

"Bitch, don’t think it’s over. Our account is just beginning to be settled!" 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

After taking Melanie’s ring, May had no intention of letting her go. Although she would soon be sent to prison, before that, May decided that she would suffer the punishment she deserved, with nothing spared.

Don’t think that once you’re in prison, the punishment ends. When they harmed others back then, those sins weren’t something that could be absolved by mere incarceration.

"What... what else do you want?" Melanie asked, trembling on the ground in weakness.

She miscalculated, initially thinking May was stupid enough to come alone due to anger for a confrontation, but to her shock, May brought Victor Grant along, and she hadn’t thought May would have such ability, to not fear the Poisonous Insect and crush the poisonous snake in one go?

She was defeated, but she was unwilling.

"What do I want? Of course, I want to return all the sufferings you inflicted on me one by one. What else would I want?" May laughed coldly, withdrew her foot, and sat on a chair nearby.

Melanie scrambled off the ground in pain, cringing as she looked at May, saying: "I warn you, if you kill me, you’ll go to jail as well."

"Why should I kill you? You deserve to be shot anyway, having killed my grandmother. You think the law is made by your family?"

May turned her head to look at the table beside her, noticing a fruit platter with a fruit knife on it.

"Remember when you cut my face with a knife?" May leisurely picked up the fruit knife, looking colder at Melanie, the knife gleaming menacingly and white under the light.

"What are you going to do?"

Seeing May playing with the knife, Melanie realized what she intended to do, screamed aloud in fear, and ran swiftly towards the door.

But just as she reached the door, a chair flew at her, hitting her and knocking her to the ground.

"Are you running? Can you escape?" As Melanie fell, May immediately advanced with the knife, pressing the blade against Melanie’s well-maintained face.

"No, don’t, please don’t ruin my face, I beg you!" Melanie was terrified, quickly covering her face, pleading desperately.

"It’s useless! Didn’t I beg you back then? How did you treat me, huh?" May, like a cat playing with a mouse, deliberately removed Melanie’s hand from her face and swung the cold blade back and forth on her cheek.

"Afraid? That’s right. Hopefully, you’re cursed by that woman too, so there will be no scars on your face, right?"

With those words, May slashed down with the knife, cutting Melanie’s left cheek horizontally, soon staining her face with blood.

"Ah! My face, my face—!" Melanie, always attentive to her appearance, valued her face highly, and being scarred by May hurt more than losing her heart; she couldn’t help but scream in agony.

One slash was far from letting May vent her rage. Reminded of the cruelty she suffered back then, May continued to wield the knife, carving a large X on her face, starting from the left cheek to the right, then the right back to the left, thoroughly mutilating her face.

"Great, I finally let out the rage in my heart." Seeing Melanie’s face now unbearably ruined, May spat out a breath, then stood up from the ground.

"Remember the pain. Next time you want to hurt someone, think of the pain from having your face disfigured. The world isn’t filled with kind people who will forgive you for nothing."

Tossing away the knife, May finally breathed out deeply, having avenged herself, turned to pull open the tightly closed doorway.

Victor Grant might have been worried May would get hurt, so he hadn’t left. When May abruptly opened the door, he awkwardly greeted May, stammering to explain: "I, I worried this bitch would harm you, so I..."

May turned around to glance at the bleeding-faced Melanie, and sneered: "She may have tried to harm me before, but now, I’m not that easy to bully anymore."

Having heard most of May’s conversation with Melanie inside, Victor felt confident, so May deliberately asked him: "Do you think I’m quite cruel?"

"No, this woman deserved it. People must be ruthless to stand firm, Sister, I admire you for this." Victor sincerely looked back at May, giving her a thumbs-up.
