Chapter 177: Chapter 177: Could It Be Melanie Morgan’s Return?

Seeing Melody White carrying a large pile of clothes into the Morgan Family’s door, the two bodyguards quickly advised May Morgan to return quickly: "Madam, you’ve been following for a while, and you haven’t seen Mrs. Morgan go anywhere special. How about we head back? If we’re late, the young master will be angry."

After all, their primary task was to ensure May Morgan’s safety, not to accompany her running around aimlessly. If something were to happen on the road, they would be held accountable!

May Morgan hesitated for a long time at the entrance of the Morgan Family before reaching to open the car door, intending to get out. This action scared the two bodyguards, who quickly opened the door again and pushed her back in.

"Madam, your willfulness needs boundaries. We really can’t bear this responsibility. Please, head back? If there’s something you need to discuss, let the young master help you make a decision once you’re back, okay?"

May Morgan looked up at the two bodyguards, as strong as mountains, and realized she probably couldn’t get out. After some thought, she bent down and picked up a box of snacks beside her, handing it to one of the bodyguards, instructing, "Then I won’t go up, take this box of snacks and deliver it to them. Just say Vincent asked you to send it as an apology."

The bodyguard accepted the box of snacks handed over by May Morgan, looked at her with some confusion, and couldn’t help but ask, "You’ve already fought, so what is this gift-giving about?"

"I never said it was me who asked to send it, did I? Just say it’s from Vincent, nothing more. Once there, just come back."

"Oh, I see." The bodyguard couldn’t fathom what May Morgan was up to, agreed, and took the gift to knock on the Morgan Family’s door.

While he went to knock on the door, May Morgan quickly instructed the other bodyguard, "Move the car to a hidden spot, don’t let the Morgan Family see our car."

The bodyguard nodded and, following May’s instructions, parked the car in a concealed corner from where he could just see the faraway Morgan Family gate.

The bodyguard arrived at the Morgan Family’s residence, knocked on the door, and was greeted by the housekeeper, Warren. After explaining his purpose, Housekeeper Warren, not daring to neglect the Vance Family, quickly invited the bodyguard inside.

May Morgan patiently waited in the car for over ten minutes before seeing the Morgan Family’s door open again, with Melody White personally escorting the bodyguard to the gate.

After the bodyguard exited the Morgan Family residence, he searched for a while before finding May Morgan’s car. Once he got in, May Morgan couldn’t hold back and asked eagerly, "Well? How many people are in the Morgan Family now?"

The bodyguard had been inside for more than ten minutes, and while he hadn’t seen the entire Morgan Family residence clearly, as he was delivering snacks in Vincent’s name, all the key people naturally made their appearances.

The bodyguard thought that May Morgan was asking whether Melody White was housing paramours, so he truthfully said, "Madam, I didn’t see any outsiders at the Morgan Family. In fact, I looked more carefully at the second floor and didn’t see any suspicious people?"

May Morgan wasn’t concerned about whether there were any paramours being housed in the family; she was worried about someone else.

"Who else was in the house?"

The bodyguard considered briefly, then said hesitantly, "The housekeeper greeted me at the door, Mrs. Morgan received me, and I seemed to catch a glimpse of Miss Melanie’s figure, but she didn’t appear, just a fleeting figure upstairs."

This touched on the key point, and May Morgan’s eyes brightened. She quickly leaned in to ask, "Did you really see clearly? Was Melanie upstairs?"

Being asked so seriously, the bodyguard wasn’t sure anymore: "I... I’m not certain, but I did see a woman’s figure on the second floor, and because there should only be a few people in the house, I subconsciously assumed it was Miss Melanie."

Upon hearing this, May Morgan nodded, patted the bodyguard’s shoulder, and comforted him, "Alright, you’ve worked hard."

Although the bodyguard’s answer was uncertain, May Morgan felt that her initial suspicion wasn’t wrong.

Vincent said that when Melanie was in Crestwood, she encountered danger and had died. So why had she suddenly appeared at home? Was Vincent lying to her, or was Melanie lucky enough to escape a disaster?

The car slowly drove away from the Morgan Family, heading towards Zenith Villa, and this time May Morgan was much more subdued, not saying a word, which in turn frightened the two bodyguards enough.

They constantly used the rearview mirror to observe May Morgan, sitting silent in the back of the car, not knowing what mischievous plan she was devising now.

Along the way, they were almost driven to vomit blood by May Morgan’s antics, hoping this time they could return safely without any mishap along the way.

This time, May was perfectly quiet, followed them obediently back to Zenith Villa, and upon returning, she didn’t make a fuss but simply went back to the bedroom to lie down.

Until dinner time, when Vincent happened to return from the mental hospital, the servant came up to call her down to eat.

Upon hearing that Vincent was back, May got her spirits up, quickly tidied up, and proactively walked out of the bedroom.

After heading down, she saw Vincent already sitting in the dining room waiting for her. Upon seeing her arrive, he spoke first: "Your father’s mood has stabilized significantly. I had the doctor give him a sedative, so he’s alright now, but he’s still constantly thinking of your mother, calling her name."

May felt that Mason Morgan calling out her mother’s name like that, yet never actually doing anything for her mother, was quite hypocritical. Remembering how Melody White was proudly shopping for clothes at the mall earlier made her feel resentful: "Now that Mason Morgan has fallen on hard times, he knows to call for my mom. When he was sober, he was so enthralled by Melody White that he couldn’t even remember his own name."

Vincent helplessly chuckled, poured her a bowl of soup by hand, and comforted her, "Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, but no matter what, he’s still your father, right?"

"He’s not my father! Didn’t he himself say he has no fertility, so he couldn’t have fathered me?" May Morgan pouted angrily, sneering.

Vincent didn’t want to discuss such sad topics during dinner, so he kindly coaxed her, "Don’t think too much about it. It’s all in the past. From now on, I’ll care for you as my own. Wouldn’t that be nice?"

"Great!" May was extremely pleased, her face splitting into a smile. She intentionally leaned into Vincent’s arms, acting spoiled, "If only I really had such a handsome and wealthy dad like you. Who would dare to bully me then?"

Vincent dotingly patted her head, and, picking up the bowl of soup in front of her, fed her personally, "Of course. Being my child, I assure you, you’ll want for nothing."
