Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 130: Let Jacob Jennings Take Care of You
May was worried Vincent would notice the odd smell on her and realize she hadn’t showered, so she quickly teased him, "I intended to shower before eating, but I was too hungry and was afraid I’d pass out in the tub. So I came out to eat first."
Hearing May say she hadn’t showered, Vincent’s lips curled into a suggestive smile, "Perfect, your husband will help you with that later."
After leading May to sit on the bed, Vincent held a spoon in one hand and a bowl in the other, seriously feeding her spoonfuls of porridge. While feeding her, he remarked, "You tell me, how did you find such a great man like me?"
This kind of bragging typically made May roll her eyes and trample on his narcissism. But now, she suddenly felt her eyes starting to get watery again.
"I must have done a lot of good deeds in my past life, so I found such a wonderful husband in this one," May joked as she pretended to laugh, quickly wiping away the tears from the corner of her eyes.
She couldn’t cry; if she cried, Vincent would only worry more. Her husband was so great, she couldn’t bear letting him always be concerned about her.
Vincent was amused by May’s teasing and couldn’t help but let out a laugh. He put down the spoon, pinched her little nose, and teased, "Since you think your husband is all treasures, why not make good use of them tonight?"
"True, I should recycle waste, or else it might get rusty."
You little... recycle waste?
Vincent was left speechless, looking at May with a blank expression. Suddenly, he stood up, rolling up his sleeves to get onto the bed, "Haven’t felt the roof come off in days, have you? I’ll show you right now if your husband is waste or not. Haven’t ’bang’ you on the bed in days, and now you’re feeling itchy!"
Seeing he was serious, May was frightened and quickly hugged the blanket, retreating backwards, "No, no, no, I’m just kidding. My husband is so powerful, isn’t he? A seven-times-a-night man, right?"
"I think you’re itching for sure!"
Infuriated by the little brat, Vincent’s eyebrows twitched. He pulled off the blanket and lunged forward, giving her a fierce kiss.
"You really dare to kiss me? I haven’t even showered!" The person kissed hurriedly wiped off the drool from their face, feigning modesty.
She was pretending not to have showered, but she obviously disliked Vincent’s drool, right? Vincent grabbed her with his big hand and hoisted her down, giving May quite a scare.
"Haven’t showered? I’ll help you. Come on, let your husband help you!"
Slinging her petite frame over his shoulder, Vincent kicked the bathroom door open with one foot.
"Help!—" May screamed in terror, aware no one would come to her rescue, then angrily threatened him, "You brute, you’re using violence on me again."
Vincent smacked her plump little behind, threatening her, "Call me husband!"
He didn’t hit her hard at all, showing how much he truly cared for her.
May turned her head to glance at him, suddenly tilting her head and landed a "smack" kiss on his handsome face.
"You... there, are you satisfied now?"
The kiss left Vincent stunned. After a moment, he smiled contentedly, "Satisfied, very satisfied."
In all the time he had known her, instances when she actively kissed him were rare, and her offering a kiss like today was unprecedented.
Vincent felt that this one kiss was enough to console him for going to Crestwood for her.
Many times, what he truly wanted wasn’t much. A beloved woman who listened, understood his heart, and was willing to stand by and guard with him—that was enough.
Squeezing some shower gel into his hands, Vincent carefully scrubbed May’s back while earnestly advising her, "You have to go on a trip tomorrow, which might take several days before you return. Don’t wander around, understand?"
Why he was going out, and where to, May knew well in her heart, but she couldn’t ask, so she softly agreed, "Okay, I know, I won’t go out, I’ll stay put, don’t worry about me."
"Such a good listener!" Vincent stroked her little face contentedly, then continued advising her, "Jacob will be looking after you these few days. You must follow his arrangements, understand?" 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Crestwood was extremely dangerous, Vincent’s trip would certainly be fraught with peril, and May hoped someone dependable could accompany him, of whom Jacob was undoubtedly the best choice.
"You’d better take Jacob with you, his skills are great, he’s loyal to you, and it’s always good to have someone to assist." May raised her head, earnestly trying to persuade Vincent.
Vincent was well aware of the dangers in Crestwood, but he was even more worried about May’s side being taken advantage of by their grandfather. The four people last night were undoubtedly sent by him, so leaving Jacob there was the best option.
"It’s fine; I’m just making a trip to Crestwood. Director Lawson called to say he found your father and wants me to bring him back, and regarding your sister, I should bring her to justice too."
May hadn’t anticipated Vincent would honestly tell her about going to Crestwood, she was somewhat surprised, yet upon reconsidering, she realized it couldn’t be that simple.
If it were merely bringing Mason back and escorting Melanie to face justice, Vincent could easily delegate to Jacob and needn’t go himself, unless he has more obscure matters he’s hiding from her.
The memory of the old woman who drew her blood suddenly popped into May’s mind, filling her with unease. Melanie was now in Vincent’s hands, and he had photos of that woman; could it be he already knew about the oddity in her body?
"You’re... just simply going to Crestwood to fetch my father?" May eyed Vincent suspiciously, questioning him.
Vincent laughed, pulling her out of the water and wrapping her up, then deliberately asked back, "Otherwise? What else could I be going for? To chase women? I think your place only produced you, the one worth looking at, all the others are unsightly, can’t even bear a glance."
"You, you’re the one who’s unsightly, your whole family is!" May punched Vincent’s chest in anger and sulked, saying, "I’m not talking to you anymore, you just insult me whenever we talk!"
Vincent leaned down to carry the wrapped bundle horizontally, laughing as he walked out, "Don’t you understand bedroom fun? Who else have I flirted with like this, you see?"
"Ugh, I’m just your oppressed slave who can’t resist!" Recalling the scene where he once wanted to whip her when they first got together, May’s teeth itched with hate, "I warn you, I’m someone with help now. If you dare bully me again, my son and I will beat you together!"
