Chapter 90: The threats - III

He Hung up The Phone after that. The Red Dot slowly disappeared in one blink of an eye even though Evelyn could still see it. She knew that it was not there but it was difficult to ignore.

It was difficult to unsee the fact that she could have taken out in a blink of an eye.

It was even more difficult to realise how that man knew what happened in between the two of them.

She ran a shaky hand over her face. Never had she never felt so afraid in her entire life. She did not feel this right when she was shifting into the house of Angelo neither did she feel so when she shifted into the house of his son.

Palming her entire face Evelyn gave a loud sigh before moving to the bed and falling face forward on it.

"Auntie Eve!" Huge weight landed on top of her back making Evelyn almost cry out in pain. "Wake up, you slept for the whole day!" Alessia shrieked, making Evelyn open her eyes in horror.

"Whole day?" She whispered to herself before holding Alessia on her back and turning around making Alessia sit on her stomach. "What time is it?"

"Um . . The big finger is on nine and the small finger is on seven."

Crap.

Evelyn very gently placed the child next to her on the bed and got up. Working on fixing her experience was the first thing to do.

"Is everyone already downstairs?" Evelyn turned around to ask the little child who was now busy playing with hair brush.

"Noo," Alessia practically sang out the word as she shook her head, "only uncle marchello is. Uncle Salvatore and Uncle Lucas are in the office."

Office, so they were in the office of Salvatore and it was probably Marcelo who had called her down stairs.

Changing into a comfortable top, much more than before, Evelyn picked the child up and settled her on her waist before walking down stairs and into the kitchen which apparently looked like a disaster.

"What did you do?" Evelyn whispered the words very slowly as her eyes went over every object in the room and little Vittorio who actually had an egg on top of his head.

How in the world was it to be perfectly still?

Evelyn walked over to him and took it off his head before turning to Marcello for answers.

"Um," he clapped his hands before dramatically turning them up in the air, "my brother’s asked me to cook and this is what they get."

Evelyn raised a brow, "Chaos?"

He nodded, "The chaos of cooking."

Evelyn chuckled, shaking her head before she placed the little girl on the counter next to her brother.

"Why don’t we go for something stupid light and common? Some cold cuts along with soup and a small plate of pasta for everyone?" She suggested.

"Yes," Marcelo nodded, "True, we could do that."

"You could have done that." Evelyn pointed out. "You could have just cut some cold meats and cheeses." She pointed out and the twins laughed.

Marcello narrowed her eyes on her. "So do we cook or do we clean the kitchen first?"

Evelyn glanced around the room before she found the knives. The problem was none of them were clean so they obviously had to start with, "Cleaning." She answered.

And so the adults began to clean.

The dishes were relatively easy to him because they just unloaded them into the dishwasher. Evelyn took to cleaning the counter near the stove that was disastrous with stains and Marcelo to the area where the kids had begun to play with the flour.

Once done they both to the seats on the bar stool of the kitchen. Evelyn had placed on the cold style relishing the feeling of a building headache.

"Auntie eve?" A loud whisper came next to her ear and Evelyn looked up to find Alessia there. "I’m hungry."

Of course.

Evelyn nodded and said, ``What’s the time when the don and his brother entered.

Lucas stopped at the entrance of the kitchen and gave the room a long time before pointing out at everything. "Is it me or this kitchen looks cleaner from what I left it?"

Evelyn chuckled and pointed to the youngest Alessandro brother. "Ask him."

Instead of continuing the conversation she had effectively directed everyone’s attention on marcelo. Evelyn opened the fridge to take out some cold meat. Holding them in her hand she moved a step back to close the fridge when she felt his presence.

He was behind her.

"Hand me those," he said before his fingers brushed over hers as he took the meat from her.

Evelyn gave a huge sigh of relief when she felt him move away from her. Glancing to the site she saw him already moving to the counter and pulling out to chopping boards.

He gave her a look before pointing to the fridge, "Cheese, please."

Evelyn blinked out of the trans that she had found herself and before opening the fridge pulling out the cheese.

There was only one chopping board left and that was kept right next to Salvatore. If she went ahead and pushed the chopping board slightly away from him it would seem very rude and not to mention his two brothers would notice it immediately. So Evelyn stood next to him in very close proximity and started to cut the cheese.

Was it just her or were they close enough to feel the body warmth of each other?

"Careful Evelyn," the baritone voice of his flew in her ears, freezing her immediately, "you might end up cutting a finger."

Cutting a finger might be better than standing next to him that made her heart pound so lovely she could hear it and was sure he could too.

"Yes, Don." She whispered, giving him a glance before moving away to look at the cheese again.

"Salvatore," he said, still looking at her, "call me Salvatore."
