Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 127: Why Does He Have That Woman’s Photo?
Under the covers, her thigh was perfectly unscathed, so smooth that not a trace of blood could be seen.
The scene was as if the previous car accident was just a nightmare she dreamt up, and upon waking, nothing had really happened.
Did nothing really happen? Of course not, because May Morgan knew very well it wasn’t a dream; she truly was attacked.
When the servant entered the room, May, feeling guilty, quickly pulled the covers over herself. Seeing she was awake, the servant gently placed the towel and hot water on the table and said, "Young Madame, you’re awake? How do you feel? Should I help you wash up again?"
May’s face darkened, and she waved her hand to refuse, "No, no need. I’ll go to the bathroom and wash myself later."
The servant looked at May but didn’t leave, "But the doctor explained, although your wounds aren’t severe, you shouldn’t move easily; otherwise, it’s not good for your recovery."
"Doctor? So... I was in the hospital before?"
When Vincent Vance took May to the hospital, she had some intuition. She could somewhat sense when the doctors were examining her wounds. But when she truly woke up, she saw herself lying in another bedroom, which confused her.
Does Vincent know her body’s secret? Would those doctors notice her peculiarities? When Vincent comes later and asks her, how should she respond?
"Yes, after you were injured, Young Master Vance sent you to the hospital. But later, the doctor said your problem wasn’t serious, so Young Master Vance brought you back to recuperate," the servant said honestly.
"Oh, is that so?" May sighed quietly in her heart and began praying that Vincent hadn’t noticed anything unusual about her.
Just as she said this, Vincent suddenly opened the door and walked in. When May saw him come in, her heart suddenly became chaotic, and she quickly pulled the covers over herself and lay back down.
Vincent noticed her hiding upon seeing him, and his gaze inadvertently darkened. As he came upstairs, he had already thought of how to deal with May, so he tried his best to appear very composed.
"What’s wrong, silly girl? Were you scared by the scene?"
Vincent walked lightly to May’s bedside, sat down, and reached out to pat her shoulder, smiling as he spoke to her.
"No, I’m just a bit annoyed." May said sullenly, her voice muffled, and after a long while, she softly said, "The servant told me I went to the hospital, but didn’t the doctors find any injuries on me?" 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
She was indirectly testing Vincent, trying to see his opinion on the matter, or perhaps she wanted to see how Vincent would react if he knew her body was different.
But how could Vincent deal with her? She was the woman he dearly wanted to protect. Not to mention being bewitched, even if she were a monster, he wouldn’t bear to do anything to her.
"There’s no major illness, so the doctors suggested discharging you. I saw that your legs weren’t injured, and thinking how dangerous it was outside, I had someone bring you back." Vincent spoke to May with a consistently calm tone, so calm that it felt suppressive.
He knew, he was also desperately suppressing his inner agitation. He desperately wanted to tell May about being bewitched, but where would he dare to say it? May’s life was already so tough, and now she was wronged into this state. If he told her, how could she bear it?
Listening to Vincent’s words, the stone in May’s heart somewhat settled. Since Vincent said she was fine, he must not have noticed anything odd about her.
Thinking of this, May then relaxedly turned her head and looked at Vincent, who was very close, her gaze particularly earnest: "Vincent, don’t lie to me."
Vincent dared not meet May’s eyes, afraid of accidentally revealing the truth. He deliberately reached out to touch her small face, using it as an excuse to block their eye contact.
"Silly girl, why would I lie to you? If you don’t believe it, I’ll take you to the hospital to check your injuries tomorrow. You can listen to what the doctor says."
After finishing, he deliberately pinched her small face and teased her with a smile, "What’s wrong? Aren’t you the one who claims to fear neither heaven nor earth? Why are you suddenly afraid today?"
"Who’s afraid? I’m not!" May was teased by Vincent and broke into a smile. She suddenly pulled Vincent’s arm strongly into her embrace, and like old times, rubbed her head against him and began to act spoiled.
Vincent reached out to touch her little head, watching May nestled happily in his embrace, his inner worries slowly dissipated. Regardless of how tough the road ahead might be, as long as the woman he loved was still there, that was paradise.
The basement image was already drawn, and Jacob Jennings sent the image to Vincent’s phone. At the time, Vincent had just gone to the bathroom to run the bathwater for May, leaving the phone on May’s bedside. Hearing his phone buzzing, May casually picked it up, and since he never set a password, she easily swiped it open.
Upon opening the picture Jacob sent, May immediately froze.
A black cloak, a petite figure, a face with a sinister smile, and those cold yellow eyes like a viper... this...
Wasn’t this the old woman who kidnapped and bled her that day?
But how did Vincent know this woman?
Just as May was holding the phone in a daze, Vincent finished running the bathwater and came out. Hearing the bathroom door open, she quickly closed his phone and tossed it aside in a fright.
"The bath’s ready, I’ll carry you in." Vincent rolled up his sleeves and approached to carry May to the bathroom.
May obediently said, "Hmm," and as she reached out to his embrace, deliberately said, "There seemed to be a message for you just now."
Vincent turned his head to look at his phone, instinctively moving to pick it up, but suddenly recalling something, quickly withdrew his hand.
"It’s fine; I’ll check it later."
Vincent smiled nonchalantly at May, scooped her off the bed, turned towards the bathroom, and, while walking, teasingly said, "Wife, you seem to be growing heavier lately; I can barely lift you."
May deliberately rolled her eyes at him, huffing, "If I’m too heavy, then don’t carry me! I’m not asking you to. Just put me down!"
Vincent was merely teasing her; carrying such a soft figure, he knew how pleasant it felt. After all, being able to hold her for a lifetime would be his blessing.
"Wife, you know, I actually like your soft feeling. It makes evenings more special." He said, opening the bathroom door, holding May tightly, and teasing with a smile.
