Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 119: Maxwell Vance and Adam Owens Become Intimate
That’s why Vincent only had Jacob take Melanie away, while he stayed behind.
"Young Master, why are you here?" Butler Lawson, originally chasing a thief, suddenly saw Vincent and May standing at the back door, looking intimate, and asked awkwardly.
Vincent held May tighter in his arms and deliberately asked Butler Lawson in return, "Why can’t I be here?"
Afterward, he purposely looked up at the bodyguards surrounding him and sneered, "What’s the meaning of this? Bringing so many people, what’s your intention?"
"No, Young Master, you misunderstood. The guards heard the alarm and thought someone triggered the backdoor surveillance system. I brought people over to check."
Upon hearing this, Vincent pretended to be embarrassed and tapped May’s little head, pretending to scold her, "Didn’t I tell you not to touch things randomly? Now look, you made Butler Lawson run here for nothing."
Vincent’s words meant to tell Butler Lawson that May accidentally set off the alarm, and there were no suspicious personnel involved.
At this point, it’s hard for Butler Lawson to get entangled further, so he awkwardly smiled at Vincent and then led the people back, "Sorry to disturb the Young Master and the Young Lady’s leisure. We’ll withdraw now, apologies."
As soon as Butler Lawson left with his team, Vincent immediately reached for May’s neck with the hand that was originally around her waist, lifting her off the ground.
"It hurts, it hurts, what are you doing?" May cried out loudly in protest due to Vincent’s rough action.
"Hurt? You still know what hurt means? Looks like your brain hasn’t turned to mush yet!" Vincent angrily picked up this woman, flicked her forehead with super strength, catching May completely off guard, making her tear up from the pain.
"Are you insane? Why hit me?" May complained furiously, tears almost falling, "I haven’t even settled accounts with you, and you dare hit me?"
"Settled accounts? What accounts? Are you settling whether I’ve slept with your sister secretly? Who told you all this? Hmm?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
May wouldn’t go to the western villa to catch someone cheating without reason; obviously, someone told her something, and Vincent was furious, more at her stupidity and impulsive behavior.
Being tricked by Logan to come to Vance Residence was one thing, but she kept being so dumb and easily used. If he hadn’t planned ahead, who knows what trouble this silly girl would have caused him now.
Facing Vincent’s accusation, May knew she was wrong, blushed, and apologized to him, "I know I misunderstood you, but, but that’s because I care about you. Think about it, if I didn’t care about you, why would I bother about who you’re with, right?"
"Don’t give me those sweet words, I won’t fall for it; we’ll settle accounts when we get back!"
While knowing May’s words were deliberately trying to defend herself, Vincent couldn’t help but feel pleased inside, though this silly girl tends to take advantage when shown leniency, so he couldn’t show it too obviously or she’d cause another fuss later.
After carrying May back from the back garden, ceremoniously, he needed to go to the main villa to bid farewell to Mr. Morgan and the old master before leaving.
When the two returned to the villa’s living room, he saw Butler Lawson bent over, speaking with the old master. Upon seeing Vincent arrive, he immediately stopped talking and stood up straight.
Logan was beside, sipping coffee silently. Upon seeing Vincent and May arrive, he glanced at them, first sweeping his narrow eyes over Vincent’s face briefly, then fixed them on May’s face, giving her a faint smile.
May felt a bit embarrassed seeing him smile at her, returning the smile awkwardly, which made Vincent fuming; Logan was teasing his wife right before him, clearly trying to provoke him, yet his foolish wife was enjoying it?
"Grandfather, if there’s nothing else, I’ll take May and leave." Vincent, with a cold face, pulled May past Logan, purposely glaring at him with intense hostility.
The old master glanced at the two without any intention of keeping them, calmly nodded, and said, "Go ahead, be safe on the road."
Seeing the old master let them go so quickly, Vincent hurriedly pulled May along. Suddenly Audrey rushed down from upstairs, then said to her father, "Dad, Maxwell, Maxwell and Adam..."
Audrey hesitated, Arthur’s brows furrowed, impatiently questioning, "What happened? Why are you speaking so hesitantly?"
With so many people present, Audrey felt uneasy clarifying matters, then bent down to whisper a few words in her father’s ear.
Upon hearing, Arthur’s face turned grim: "Did you see clearly?"
"I just opened the door and took a glance, didn’t look closely, but from what I saw, it’s pretty much certain." Audrey thought of the scene she saw upon entering Adam’s room earlier, indecisively continued, "Now they’re like that, must have already reached the point of no return. But if Adam doesn’t agree, won’t it ruin Maxwell?"
May felt something odd overhearing, couldn’t help but look at Audrey’s face, whispering, "What’s Aunt saying? What innocence? What happened with Adam and Maxwell?"
Vincent, of course, knew what happened with Maxwell and Adam because it was a setup he and Jacob orchestrated, however, he suddenly thought, if May saw Adam and Maxwell together, wouldn’t she not only have no feelings for that man but also develop aversion?
Thinking of this, Vincent leisurely stood aside watching the drama, not in a hurry to leave.
Audrey looked at May with somewhat complicated eyes, thinking of defending Adam, replied harshly, "Does Adam’s current situation need your concern? May, just take care of yourself."
Audrey’s words rendered May speechless for a while, after pondering, she suddenly gave an awkward laugh and lowered her head, said, "Aunt is right, what right do I have to meddle in others’ affairs. Sorry, I’ll leave first!"
May, with her head down, walked silently to Vincent’s side, just about to hold his hand and leave, Vincent raised his hand slightly, placing it around her waist, lovingly pulling her into his embrace.
"Aunt’s words aren’t right; since May married me, she’s my wife, being my wife, naturally she’s Maxwell’s sister-in-law. As Maxwell’s sister-in-law, now the sister has problems, she should show concern, not just concern, she should see it through!"
