Worldwide Class Change: Minimal Effort, Maximum Reward!-Chapter 105, Underworld Layer
[Underworld Crawler ×8 Defeated]
[Underworld Crawler ×11 Defeated]
[Dungeon Assessment Score: +190]
[Sect Score Distribution: +190 to each member]
Shen Rou looked at the score notification on her datapad. "That’s both clusters simultaneously," she said.
"Yes," Wang Hao said, in the tone he used for things that continued to surpass his baseline for impressive. "That’s how it works."
"Let’s move," Lin Yi said.
He moved through the primary zone the way he had moved through the mountain Range.
One Strike, All fall!
His Celestial Sword Qi swept wide with each release, the range covering enough ground to catch multiple monster clusters per arc when the spacing allowed. Where clusters were positioned close enough to each other, a single release cleared both. Where they were spaced further apart, he covered the distance with [Phantom Void Step] and cleared each one before returning to the forward path.
The score notifications accumulated.
[Underworld Crawler ×9 Defeated — Score: +162]
[Sect Distribution: +162 each]
[Bone Shade Wolf ×6 Defeated — Score: +138]
[Sect Distribution: +138 each]
[Underworld Crawler ×12 Defeated — Score: +216]
[Sect Distribution: +216 each]
Wang Hao moved behind him and to the right, covering the angles that Lin Yi’s forward sweep didn’t reach, which was primarily the function of keeping the unit intact rather than contributing significantly to clearance volume.
Shen Rou moved with precise awareness of her own positioning, using the formation principles she had been studying to maintain optimal spacing between herself and the other two, staying out of the clearance arc zones while remaining close enough to benefit from the protective field that the Grand Defense Ring produced at close range.
She was also doing something else. Lin Yi noticed it after the fourth cluster clearance. She had her datapad active and was running live annotation of the floor structure, tracking which zones had been cleared and mapping the reset timer cycles she had described. The academy’s raid scoring system tracked kill data automatically, but her mapping was providing something additional, a forward projection of where density would be highest when the floor cycled, which she was relaying through the group channel.
Shen Rou: Northeast quadrant hasn’t been touched. Density should be at full cycle now.
Shen Rou: Two more clusters in the eastern pathway before the floor transition point.
Shen Rou: Primary floor is approximately 60% cleared. At current clearance speed, the reset cycle will complete before we reach the transition point. Recommend looping back through the cleared zones to hit reset density before descending.
Lin Yi read the note while clearing the eastern pathway clusters. She had mapped the floor in real time with a level of accuracy that would have taken most participants thirty minutes to develop through exploration. He adjusted the path.
The loop back through the reset zones added forty-two additional clusters before the primary floor was genuinely exhausted. The combined score from the primary floor alone, when Shen Rou calculated it from the running total, was higher than the entire output most sects would produce across the full four-hour raid window.
He stood at the transition point between primary and secondary zones and looked at the downward passage. The air coming up from below was heavier. He could feel the suppression field coefficient shifting.
"Secondary zone," he said.
Wang Hao looked at the passage. "The suppression compounds down there."
"Yes," Lin Yi said.
"And the monsters are level 38 to 48."
"Yes."
"And the suppression at the second level of the secondary zone reduces a level 40 hunter’s output by thirty percent," Wang Hao said. He was looking at Lin Yi as he recited this. "Which you are well above."
"Yes," Lin Yi said.
Wang Hao nodded. "Right," he said. "Let’s go."
The secondary zone opened below them into a wider space than the primary, the ceiling higher, the mineral light veins thicker and brighter.
The monsters here were immediately different in scale.
Underworld Sentinels, level 42, bipedal and armored in dark iron that had grown organically from their body structure over what appeared to be years of development. They moved with significantly more awareness than the Crawlers, tracking sound and light as well as vibration, their patrol patterns designed to cover the open floor space efficiently.
The suppression field pressed against Lin Yi immediately. He felt it the same way he had felt the thirty-ninth floor’s pressure, a genuine weight that was real and present and worth acknowledging.
He acknowledged it.
Then he released Celestial Sword Qi at the secondary zone’s first patrol line.
The golden arc moved through the suppression field the way it moved through everything else. The Underworld Sentinels in its path dissolved with the same absolute result as every monster before them.
[Underworld Sentinel ×7 Defeated]
[Score: +378]
[Sect Distribution: +378 each]
Shen Rou’s datapad pinged with the score notification. She looked at it. Then she looked at Lin Yi. She said nothing, but the expression was the one that meant she was updating a calculation.
For the remaining two hours of the raid window, Celestial Legion moved through the secondary zone the same way they had moved through the primary.
Lin Yi cleared.
His tactics simple: One Strike, All Fall!
Shen Rou mapped and projected. Wang Hao maintained unit cohesion and covered the angles. The score accumulation continued at a rate that none of them announced aloud because the numbers were doing the announcement themselves.
When the extraction notification appeared with thirty minutes remaining, Lin Yi checked the current score total.
Shen Rou had it open already.
She looked at him. "We’re currently the highest-scoring sect in the raid," she said.
"By how much?" Wang Hao said.
She looked at the comparative display. "Crimson Vanguard is second. We’re ahead of them by approximately seventy percent of their total."
"We go back to the primary zone for the remaining time," Lin Yi said. "The reset cycle will have completed."
