World Domination Begins With Getting a System in a Modern World-Chapter 66: New Home
Chapter 66: New Home
James barely had time to settle back in after returning from the car dealership before Patty called him for lunch.
As he walked into the dining area, the familiar, sweet and warm aroma of freshly cooked food greeted him.
Patty was setting the final plates on the table, while Leslie helped by bringing over the drinks.
Yes, drinks. They decided to have a little celebration meal for the new place they will be moving in into tomorrow.
As James walked into the house, he couldn’t help but notice something — the house already felt emptier than usual, as if it knew they were leaving soon.
The thought made James pause for a moment. They had spent years in this house — struggling, surviving, and building memories. And now, in just a single day, they would be moving into a multi-million-dollar mansion. No matter how many times, he thought about it, it was took good to be true.
He smiled as he took his seat at the table, shaking off the nostalgia.
Patty and Leslie joined him, and the three of them started eating. The meal was simple but delicious, a reminder of how much love and warmth Patty put into every dish.
As they ate, Leslie, who had been quietly been eating her food, suddenly perked up.
"Hey! Since we’re moving tomorrow, can we have a housewarming party?" she asked excitedly, her eyes shining. "I wanna invite my friends!"
James raised an eyebrow at her enthusiasm but smirked.
"That was fast. You haven’t even moved in yet, and you’re already planning a party?"
Leslie pouted. "Come on, James! It’s a huge place! We have to break it in properly."
James glanced at Patty, expecting her to be against the idea, but to his surprise, she nodded in agreement.
"A housewarming sounds nice," Patty said, smiling softly. "It would make the place feel more like home."
James exhaled. If Patty was fine with it, then he had no reason to object. Besides, Leslie deserved to enjoy herself after everything they had been through.
"Fine," he said, shaking his head in amusement. "Invite whoever you want. Just don’t go overboard."
Leslie let out a triumphant "Yes!" before quickly pulling out her phone to text her friends.
With that settled, they finished lunch in lighthearted conversation, chatting about the move, the new house, and if they are going to meet their soon-to-be billionaire neighbours.
After the meal, James went up to his room and flopped onto his bed.
Laying on his bed, he smiled as he found himself with absolutely nothing to do.
The system mission was still ongoing, and he had over six weeks left to complete it. The offshore trust holding company was still in the process of being finalized, and according to the lawyers, it would take at least another week before they could travel to the Cook Islands to complete the registration.
As for the McCullens, Gregor had yet to report back with any findings.
With everything at a standstill, James had no pressing matters to handle. Sure, he could start acquiring knowledge related to the industries he planned to enter, but he wasn’t in the mood for studying.
It hadn’t even been two weeks since he came home for the quarter break, after spending three months grinding non-stop with both school and part-time work.
The thought of diving back into studying so soon? No, thanks.
"I guess I can take a few days off." James exhaled in relief.
Of course, he knew that this was just an excuse. Deep down, he felt a little guilty about not doing something productive, but he quickly silenced that nagging thought.
He had worked hard. He had spent the last week making millions, securing their future, and setting up everything they needed. If anyone deserved to relax, it was him. He should at least do this for himself for once.
And so, James spent the rest of the day doing nothing but gaming with Leslie, catching up on movies he hadn’t watched, and checking the memecoin charts occasionally.
At some point, he called Ralph and invited him to the housewarming party, giving him the address and time. Ralph, of course, accepted immediately.
There was no way he wasn’t going to accept. James has promised to drive him around Lower Bel Air, and show him houses of celebrities, if he comes, and he isn’t going to miss it for the world.
The day passed uneventfully, and before James knew it, the sun had set, and they were all getting ready for bed.
Tomorrow was a big day. Tomorrow, the will move into Anzo Estate.
Morning arrived faster than expected for the three of them.
James woke up feeling refreshed, stretching lazily before sitting up in bed. He got out of bed, went to the bathroom to freshen up, before going downstairs for breakfast.
The scent of breakfast filled the air as he stepped out of his room. Downstairs, Patty was already preparing a light meal while Leslie was scrolling through her phone, still in her pajamas.
"Good morning," Patty greeted as she set the food on the table.
James nodded. "Morning."
Leslie looked up and smirked.
"You look unusually relaxed. Don’t you feel excited that we are finally moving in into the billionaire neighbourhood?" She asked.
James rolled his eyes when he heard her question.
"I’ve been excited all week," he replied casually.
They took their seats at the dining table and ate their food quickly. Today was going to be a busy day for them and they don’t want to waste time unnecessarily.
Once breakfast was finished, they moved on to clearing out their belongings.
Surprisingly, it didn’t take long. Since they had already decided not to bring any furniture, all they had to pack were personal belongings — clothes, shoes, important documents, and a few sentimental items.
And everything fit into the trunk of James’ car with ease.
Patty, being the practical person she was, didn’t bother taking any of the old cooking utensils, as she had already bought new ones for the mansion.
However, she did take her cooking ingredients — because, as she put it, "Good ingredients are not something you just throw away."
Once everything was packed, the three of them stood in front of the house, taking one last look at the place that had been their home for so long.
There was a strange feeling of nostalgia in the air.
This small, ordinary house had seen their struggles, their hardships, their victories, and their quiet moments of happiness.
Leslie exhaled, with a lot of emotions in her heart.
"I can’t believe we’re actually leaving," she said, with a soft voice, filled with nostalgia.
Patty placed a comforting hand on her daughter’s shoulder.
"New beginnings, sweetheart. That’s what this is."
James nodded in agreement. "And this isn’t goodbye. It’s just the start of something better."
With one final glance, they got into the car, and James drove out of the driveway for the last time.
As they pulled onto the road, leaving behind the house that had once been their whole world, a new Chapter of their lives began.
A Chapter of wealth, comfort, and endless possibilities.

The drive to Anzo Estate was smooth as always, and for a reason, it felt different from the last two times they came.
When they finally pulled into the private driveway, the sheer size of the mansion still made Patty and Leslie pause for a moment.
"This still doesn’t feel real," Leslie whispered.
"Better get used to it." James smirked.
The words were more for him than Leslie, as everything still felt unreal.
They stepped inside, and a wave of excitement washed over them. Even though they had been here before, today was different.
This wasn’t just some luxury home they were visiting. This was their home now.
Patty took a deep breath, her eyes scanning every corner of the entrance hall. The morning sunlight streamed through the large glass windows, casting a warm glow on the marble floors.
Leslie practically ran to her chosen room, eager to start setting up.
James chuckled and turned to Patty.
"Welcome home," he said simply.
Patty smiled at him, her eyes soft with emotion.
"Welcome home, James."
James looked around, taking everything in.
Yeah. This was home now and it was just the beginning.
