Chapter 65: Thank You Gift For Patty

The next morning, after they have had breakfast, they decided to leave for Anzo Estate.

They had initially wanted to wait but since none of them had nothing else to do at home, and Patty didn’t want to leave the delivery people waiting when they arrive, they decided to leave early.

The morning air was crisp as James, Patty, and Leslie made their way toward Anzo Estate. The drive was smooth, the sun shining brightly as they cruised through the luxurious streets of Lower Bel-Air.

It still felt surreal to them — Patty and Leslie especially.

A week ago, they had been living in an ordinary neighborhood, worried about expenses. Now, they were relocating to one of the most exclusive areas in Los Angeles — an estate worth $12.5 million, nestled among the homes of the ultra-rich.

James stole a glance at Patty, who was staring out the window, a soft smile on her lips. Leslie, on the other hand, was brimming with excitement, tapping her fingers against the car’s seat.

"This place still feels like a dream," Leslie said, her voice filled with anticipation.

James smirked as he turned the car into the estate’s private driveway.

"Well, better get used to it. This is our home now."

As soon as they pulled up, Leslie practically jumped out of the car, stretching her arms wide as she took in the mansion once again.

"Man, I can’t wait to officially move in!" she beamed.

James chuckled and turned to Patty.

"You still okay with moving in tomorrow?" He asked.

They had talked when they will be moving in when they were on their way here, and Patty said that if all the deliveries are delivered today, then they can move in tomorrow if they want.

Patty nodded in agreement. She won’t deny it that even she wants to move in immediately.

"Yes. If everything gets set up today, the only thing left is officially packing up and leaving the old house behind."

James also nodded in agreement. It felt bittersweet, leaving behind the house that had been their home for years. But this was a new beginning for him and for all of them.

As they stepped inside, they quickly realized that the furniture deliveries hadn’t arrived yet.

"Guess we have some time to kill," Leslie said, her eyes darting toward the grand spiral staircase leading to the upper floors.

Then, she suddenly grinned and turned to James.

"Hey! Wanna go pick rooms with me?"

James smirked, knowing she had been dying to claim her space.

"Sure, why not?"

They ascended the staircase, the elegant glass railings shimmering under the sunlight streaming through the massive windows.

The mansion had a total of six bedrooms, each lavishly designed, but only one master bedroom.

James had already spoken with Patty earlier, asking which room she wanted, but she had shrugged it off.

"Any room is fine, James. They’re all beautiful. Besides, the master bedroom should go to the man of the house."

James had laughed at her teasing remark, but in the end, he agreed.

"Alright, let’s find your room first," James said as they reached the second floor.

Leslie eagerly walked into the first available room, her eyes scanning the space.

She inspected the view from the window, the massive wardrobe, and the en-suite bathroom. After a few minutes, she nodded in satisfaction.

"This one. I’ll take this room!"

James chuckled. "That was fast."

Leslie smirked. "Well, I have good taste."

They exited her room and headed toward the master bedroom — James’ future space.

Unlike the other rooms, the master bedroom was twice as big, featuring a private balcony, a massive walk-in closet, and a luxurious bathroom with a jacuzzi.

Leslie whistled in admiration as she stepped inside.

"James, I swear this room is bigger than our entire old house."

James chuckled. "Probably."

As they admired the room, they suddenly heard Patty’s voice calling from downstairs.

"The deliveries are here!"

Leslie and James exchanged glances before quickly making their way downstairs.

Outside, a small truck was parked in front of the estate, movers unloading the final pieces of furniture and decor.

Patty directed them, making sure everything went to the right places. The estate was already fully furnished, but they had ordered a few additional pieces to make it feel more like home.

It didn’t take long before the movers were done. They left after a few brief signatures, leaving the family standing in their now fully-prepared home.

Leslie clapped her hands together excitedly.

"So, when do we move in, Mom?" She asked again, nearly unable to control herself.

Patty smiled. "Tomorrow as said before."

Leslie let out a celebratory cheer and squealed in excitement, before practically skipping toward the car.

James, who had been watching everything in silence, turned to Patty.

"Hey, I want to invite Ralph over once we move in. That cool with you?"

Patty chuckled. "James, this is your house. You don’t have to ask for my permission, even if it’s out of courtesy."

James smiled. "I know, but I still wanted to let you know."

Patty placed a hand on his arm, her expression warm. "I appreciate that."

James natural had his reasons for telling Patty. Yes, Anzo Estate is his but that doesn’t mean that he has to disrespect his family.

After they returned home, Patty went into the kitchen to start preparing lunch, leaving James with some time to spare.

With such free time, James remembered that there was something important he needed to do — buy a car for Patty.

Without wasting time, he headed straight to the car dealership where he had purchased his car and Ralph’s.

The moment he stepped inside, a familiar voice called out.

"James!"

He turned to see Laila—the same salesperson from his last visit — rushing toward him.

However, something interesting happened.

Just before Laila could reach him, another salesperson — a young woman with striking features — intercepted James.

She flashed a charming smile, clearly trying to use her beauty to catch his attention.

"Hello, sir~" she purred, stepping closer. "Looking for something special today?"

James barely spared her a glance before walking straight past her, heading toward Laila.

He knew what she wanted to do, as she flashed her cleavages at him but he wasn’t in the mood for it.

He knew that the girl must has heard of him from other employees, and want to attend to him, but he would appreciate it if she isn’t trying to honey trap him.

Laila, who had stopped in her tracks when the other salesperson approached, blinked in surprise before smiling.

"Welcome back, James."

This time, there was no forced professionalism, no fakeness — just a genuine, warm smile.

James noticed the difference immediately.

"Guess she really has changed," he thought.

"Good to see you again, Laila," he greeted.

Her smile widened. "So, what can I do for you today?"

James smirked.

"I’m here to buy a car. The latest Land Rover Range Rover."

Laila’s eyes widened slightly, but she quickly composed herself.

"An excellent choice," she said. "The newest Range Rover— The Range Rover Autobiography just arrived last week. Fully loaded, all the latest features."

"Perfect," James said. "I’ll take it."

Laila blinked.

"Wait... just like that?"

James chuckled. "Yeah. No need to explain the specs. I already know it’s the best option."

Laila stared at him for a moment before shaking her head with a laugh.

"You really don’t waste time, huh?"

"Not when I already know what I want."

The Range Rover Autobiography was priced at $181,000, but James paid in full, just as he had before.

The cashier, now familiar with James’ no-nonsense approach, barely reacted this time — but he could tell she was still surprised.

As the final documents were prepared, James turned to Laila.

"I want the car delivered to this address tomorrow, " he said, handing her a slip of paper with their home address of the Anzo Estate.

Laila took it and smiled. "Consider it done."

As James stepped out of the dealership, he felt a deep sense of satisfaction.

He could already picture Patty’s reaction. He knew that she would protest, tell him that he didn’t have to, that it was too much... but in the end, she would accept it.

Because this was more than just a car. It was a symbol of how far they had come. It was proof that their struggles were over. And most of all — it was a thank-you gift.

James smiled to himself.

"She’s going to love it."ƒгeewebnovёl.com
